Thank you for the awesome review! While we all hope no one buys a meter this size as their only test instrument, this one is pretty good bang-for-buck as a second, or pocket, glove box, tool box, armchair...whatever turns your crank.

$37 bucks on AMAZON, what's up with that!!! I love the fact that it has a dedicated AC and DC position on the dial and dual OFF position on opposite ends. It's a beautiful meter. She's a keeper in the glove box.

I would negate Amazon and purchase via AliExpress. Btw, the dual OFF was on the older version which lacked Frequency, Capacitance and NCV. It's a keeper as you said !

One small typo.. length 10.96mm is either 10.96cm or 109.6mm. But everyone gets it (at least in the metric thinking crowd).
Thanks for review, i love the effect/music cuts in your videos. Seen both versions of this meter on shops, and was every time confused why they didnt change the type number.

Not bad. It's a good little meter. The only small detractor for me is lack of battery test function. I end up using it pretty regularly to test batteries in my daughter's toys. If you don't need it, this is a good around the house meter.
I hear ya..still a tough one to beat. If it had TEMP and a dedicated battery test function these would sell like hotcakes. 👍
This meter is indeed quite great! There is no excuse not to have one in the car and one on each floor of your house as well as one in each of your coats so you never have to look for it.

Nice DMM. On the protection side, it's a bit weak. I think, I will get one (or two?) of them.. Also the 4mm-plugs are a nice feature.

There is not the slightest chance, that this DMM is fit for CAT III. Not without shrouded plugs on the test leads! Hence it is not recommented to work at mains with it. Aside of that: This DMM is a pretty versatile device. Pretty perfect for beginners in electronics, for car electrics or for use as a "just in case of" and "on the go" unit. The multi purpose plastic case is a very good idea, the standard 4mm connection is very useful. I´m just asking myself, how the next iteration should be: 9999 Counts and powered by two 2032´s (to pass the LED test complete)?
So true, not a proper CAT rating but I think most people will use it for the reasons you listed. A beefed up diode mode and a temp range would definitely put this one on top 👌

Unfortunately the IC is a 48 pin cobbed package so it's almost impossible to pinpoin the source.. It's definitely not a Dreamtech..perhaps a Cyrustech or equivalent! How do you like the multimeter ? 👍 Thx for watching 👀

I just love how the video escalates from "it didn't even come with a box" to:
1. It only costs $8.🤔
2. It comes with a plastic case with a more or less functional tilt stand.🤨
3. The grooves on the selector switch are nice and big.🧐
4. The font on the 4000-count display (not 2000) is not large but contrast enough.🙂
5. The readings are fast and accurate (for this kind of meter).😏
6. Some ranges are even higher than in meters, more than twice its price.😳
7. Test leads are not captive. And, hey, it's not some weird proprietary diameter, even standard-sized leads can fit. 😲
8. It has better NCV with no antennae than some regular-sized meters.🤯

It's definitely full of surprises but in a good way , hehe. Yes I was all ticked because I got no box...dang I'm shallow at times but I quickly forgot about the crappy cardboard and soon realized what a pocket gem this ANENG is!! Thx for watching my friend 😊👍
@23:30 I just figured out what those range selector spring arms look like: Mickey Mouse's gloved hand. Doesn't seem to be any function to those inner bumps in the end user usage. Perhaps during manufacturing assembly there are some grippers or features that engage the inside of that region. Ah, the things that keep me up at night...💡🛌

Need help between this (AN101) and habotest HT108L ?. Need basic multimeter that robust, read average home electronic voltage (AC or DC), cont.
HT108L is definitely more robust but either would do the job.😊 👍

I thought that would get your attention! I picked this meter up new on Ebay about 8 years ago..I honestly haven't seen another one. It has the ICM 7106 on a 40 pin DIP. A real classic as you know 😅
@@KeepOnTesting I have several UNI-T 830 series meters (all in black cases), but their original chip is always a COB on a small daughterboard soldered onto DIP pads. In one of them the chip was broken (burnt 3 V output) and I easily replaced it with a DIP 7106.
I've only seen the black cased UNI-T 830s . That's why I was shocked when I came across this red beauty..goes great with the whole UNI-T vibe.
