  • The My Son temple complex is one of the “must-see” sights when you visit Hoi An in Vietnam. It was a Hindu spiritual centre of the ancient kingdom of Champa & is now designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. My Son sits 45 km from Hoi An in the heart of a stunning valley, surrounded by mountains. The temples were originally made of wood but after burning down in the 6th century, they were completely reconstructed from locally made bricks in 7th century. Eventually there were 72 temples & towers within the complex.
As you will see, the site was hard hit during the war but with the help of the international community is now being rebuilt, although trying to reconstruct these beautiful buildings using modern techniques is proving much harder than you would imagine.
Go early to get this place to yourself as we did.

Hi...stumbled across this video. Thank your for posting this. As a practicing Hindu, I would've worshipped the Siva Linga even today. The mantras that are chanted t pray to Lord Siva would blow any body's mind even today in 2024. They mantras talk about the understanding of the advanced mathematics, engineering, earth sciences, zoolory and biolgy by the ancients
