Best way to earn tokens/ cheapest sets to lock in for tokens?

I’ve got about 2500 and I got them mostly from locking in sets and collector levels. Any of the Series 2 sets without pink diamonds are very good if you don’t have a lot of MT. You could also run Triple Threat Online, if you’re a good player you’ll be able to get about 20-30 every time you clear the board.
