My first perfume was also given to me by my mom! I’m 35 and I STILL remember the fragrance. It was “Charlie White”, my mom gave it to me for my birthday in a beautiful gift basket she curated for me. Loved it.
I feel like that about Malibu musk and Sand and Sable.. My brother - God rest his sweet soul wore Joop - and I thought he was so cool wearing that - I called him Bobby normally - but when he wore Joop...... I was told by him - to call him ROB - in front of the ladies lol - after he grew his wings - I requested his bottle of Joop and held onto it to this day Wonderful memories - I've never tried the Issey Miyake - sounds beautiful - would love to try that
Yes, Malibu Musk and Sand and Sable made me think I was grown LOL. So sorry about the loss of your dear brother, but at least you still have his scent to keep him close to your heart.
Danyellow, Malibu was the bomb! I forgot about that and of course I love Sand and Sable. What a sweet story, I love that you have held on to your brother's bottle of Joop.
Ahhhh, fragrance memories. My first memory is of my mom wearing EL’s Youth Dew. My memory is of her smelling warm, cozy, and classy. I loved to nuzzle her neck when we’d hug. Fast forward about 23 years. I was really getting into fragrances and was so excited to find a gift set of Youth Dew. I wanted to smell just like my mom. Much to my surprise and disappointment, it smelled awful on me. Reminded me of bug spray. I hated it and those around me hated it. But I learned something so meaningful and touching: it wasn’t my mom’s perfume that smelled so good; it was her. It was the combination of all things “mama:” the smells she was around all day at her job, the fragrances surrounding her while making dinner, the yarn from her knitting, and the way she smelled after a hot steamy bath. Now that she’s gone, I am so glad to know that was the essence of her. I’ll never forget it. And I’m especially glad that I don’t have to keep a stinky bottle of perfume around to remind me of her.
Sorry to hear that. I've heard other reviewers say that Youth Dew has to be sprayed very lightly in the air, walked in and it takes an hour (hair, makeup, eat a snack) to settle before meeting people. I'm having more success with this method for managing intense scents I like.
OMG! Imari....my mom always had it but rarely wore it. She had all of it, the perfume, lotion, powder, body wash...you just brought so many memories back to me! Thank you!❤
I miss Pearls and Lace by Avon and wish they'd bring it back. I wore that all through my adolescent years and there after. I've e-mailed Avon time and time again to please bring it back.
My first love ❤ wore Joop in the 90's..Liz Claiborne was my mother's signature when I was very young and once I became a teen I started digging in her stash😂😂😂 Curve and Cool Water for men are forever classics.
I remember Exclamation so well! I wore it when I was 13/14 and it takes me back to my khaki pants and loafer wearing high school days! I then wore Navy (by Covergirl ?) for the remainder of high school. I would hoard bottles of Navy, always asking for it for my birthday and for Christmas! I also remember by mom wearing Emeraude around this time and would love to get my hands on a bottle of that! Thanks for the video, I love your stories!
Erin Wellsch, I actually ordered Navy for this video and it showed up late. The video was almost incomplete without Navy because it was one that I covered myself in when I was in school, lol. The bottle showed up and it still smells like the old Navy back then.
Wow, I cried and laughed watching this entertaining video. Now I understand your passion regarding perfumes. This really took me down memory lane. My fragrance at the time was Gorgio of Beverly Hills🤣🤣
Issy Miyaki is still one of my go to fragrance lol. My ex bought it for me back in 2005. I used to love it and it was my signature. The 3.5 oz is still $80.
Girl I was a teenager and my boyfriend wore that lagerfeld. I loved it so much. I actually bought for myself the first time I wore a "male" fragrance. It brings back great memories 🤗🤗
I was around 18 and I got my first job. I was working at Bloomingdale's in NYC in the lingerie departmemt. That year Safari by Ralph Lauren released. They had a huge display and ad campaign set up on the second floor-- it seemed the entire store smelled of it. In my minds eye I can still smell it and remember the memories from that time in my life 🤗. Last month I ordered a bottle....I was not in Love.. I know it has been reformulated..and I do smell some of what I remember but, there are alot of sharp edges I don't recall. 😫. The memories of it are better>> but the bottle is still a Beautiful Classic.
What a great video! I don’t think I have seen a throwback video like this. Thanks for sharing your memories. My old school memory was my moms Jean Nate’ lol.
Vintage givenchy gentleman, for me its the best fragrance ever made. I have around 500ml of original juice, i cant help myself from smelling it every morning. Thanks for the great content as always
Drakkar is barbershop meets designer. And your comment about the way people used to say Drakkar in the 80s and it’s prestige is so spot on ! Great channel. I subbed. Please do more men’s fragrance reviews. You’re really good at it
My dad wears that old green polo and I had to update him to boucheron than I really updated him with Dior savage I couldn't leave my mom out all she wore was white diamond ,calandra , and Oscar updated her with boucheron than Chanel for Christmas they are getting updated again cafe rose for mom and ombré leather for dad, but it's funny because my dad still won't leave that old green polo alone 😂😂😂
Lol when you said white diamond I thought oh wow have not thought of that and it made me think about how my mom wore passion in the purple bottle. Lol this is taking me back!
Ici, Sung,Love's Baby Soft or Fresh Lemon. Sometimes i would just rock some strawberry perfume oil from Body Shop and people would stop me to ask what i was wearing
This was FUN! Growing up my aunties wore lots of Avon scents like Imari but my classy mom she wore ghost and I loved it. I remember she came home with a bottle of perfume from the lost&found from her job it smelled lovely to me so i begged her for it,it was Issey Miyake, lol. Its been forever since I've smelled it ,would love to have it again. Btw,my dad still loves Polo Green,I used to buy him the big bottle of curve all the time as gifts.
Just another quickie. My first experience with a monster fragrance was Paloma Picasso. It’s a deep, dark mysterious concoction of civet and earthy notes. Although reformulated, you can still find it today. I always keep a bottle in my collection and occasionally still wear it to recapture the first time I fell in love with a beast-mode fragrance. Another one is Fracas and I still wear that one often.
My brothers wore Joop, Dior Fahrenheit, Cool water, Polo sport (blue bottle), Curve. Secret Santa when I was at work when I was a teenager (I worked with adults in a restaurant) if I had a guy to buy for, I always gave them Joop. Because I love it. Early 80's baby over here lol. I like most of them, Farhenheit I cannot stand. Now my husband wears Dior Sauvage, that is his only cologne. He doesn't want any more. He is a minimalist when it comes to colognes. I love your stories. 👍😊 Keep them coming.
Escape by Calvin Klein reminds me of the early 90's which was my high school years. I saw a set in TJMAXX and I had to have it. It still smells the same and I make sure I wear it atleast once a week.
I’m video binging and loved this video! I really enjoyed your stories and memories. I had to think hard to go back to my early fragrance days (the 70’s baby!) and first to pop in my head is Charlie by Revlon. Every girl at school wore this and I can remember the TV adds with Shelly Hack & Naomi Simms looking awesome in bell bottom pant suits. The 70’s is when women first started rocking a pant suit as a “professional” look. Next is Musk...Coty Wild Musk oil was my signature scent all through high school. That oil was strong and wouldn’t wash out of my clothes. I never bought a designer fragrance until the 80’s (when I actually had a job) and my first was Poison by Dior. To this very day, that is still my all time favorite fragrance...I actually love the house of Dior. The guys wore a cologne called Hai Karate, that came with instructions in the package for 3 karate moves...lol. Revlon also had a heavy hitter in the 70’s for the guys, too, called Chaz. Trust me....you could smell Chaz a mile away. As always, be blessed Eva💕
LOL, this was a fun video. I used to wear Exclamation back inna day. A friend of my mother's got me a bottle of Poison and I became obsessed! I'd smelled Cool Water in a magazine and thought it smelled like soap (in the best way)...like fresh outta the shower! I want to smell clean so I got a bottle. Ended up going through two bottles of the stuff, lol.
Great list! I loved Joop back in the day along with Obsession men, Carolina Herrera, and Eternity. All classics and still smell really good IMO, thanks Eva
Thanks for inspiring us with your videos and bring back that grown woman feel that’s almost lost in this society! As soon as I saw your first video, before I subscribed to your channel. I bought the Juliet as a Gun discovering kit off of Amazon. It was less than 30.00 usd. And the smell is amazing!!! Thanks again for introducing that perfume! My man will love these fragrances as I wear them to bed 😋
I used Exclamation like it was going out of style! A few others I remember using were Vanilla Fields, Colors by Benetton, the Guess perfume in the twisted glass bottle, and every now and then I would sneak my mother's Opium. My very first perfume as a kid was Tinkerbell perfume. LOL.
OMG!!!! You brought tears to my eyes!!! Love your Christmas story! And I have SOOOOO many memories of my "signature scents" thruogh the years! Issey Miyake was my scent for about 2 years. I also remember wearing Chloe Narcisse, Escada, Escape, First, Tresor, Vera Wang, Laura Biogiatti (she had the most LUSCIOUS body creme with shimmer!!!)... I'm going to have to hit the online train and find some of these! Great video!
Appreciate you sharing all these stories , fascinating to learn about memories and scents we connect to them. Burburry touch was my baby back in the day, probably went through a dozen bottles when I was in school.
I’m a child of the 70s as well and I remember all of these. I ran into some Perry Ellis 360 at my local TJ Maxx and got so excited to purchase it (very fond memories with this one) but sadly, it was not the same. I think a lot of these have been reformulated. I love your stories 🥰 I too can recall songs, peoples faces, friends, feelings, situations, and these fragrances can bring it all back ♥️ I swear, if someone sat me down and gave me 5 random frags, I could give you a story 🤣 Much love from one Frag OG to another ♥️
Hey, Aliece Dice, it's so heartbreaking when the change the formulation of an old favorite. My favorite Perry Ellis now is 360 Coral because I don't enjoy the original anymore. Isn't it funny how scent brings back memories, it's one of the things I really love about fragrances.😍😍
I love Curve, when I was in my twenties, I would hang out at the Elks, and I was learning how to ballroom dance, this man who smelled so good to me, I started wearing curve, the one for men, yes I did; and now that I am married, I buy it for my husband and I even make my own soaps and body butters out of the oils.
Hey Toiya Adams, I can totaly see Curve working well on a woman. I love homemade body butters and soaps. Its always nice when things are made with love and natural products. :)
Exclamation saved Christmas!! I can see why you love fragrances. What a great story and your father's strong reaction makes that fragrance remind you of both your mom and your father. It's great that it hasn't been reformulated. My first fragrance was Avon's little to a wild rose bottles and creams. Perhaps that's why I'm on the hunt for a good rose scent. You're a great story teller, I'm glad my new interest in fragrances made me watch. Loved this video.
I completely understand you about Lagerfeld. My FAVORITE men's cologne is Pleasures for Men by Estee Lauder. I don't know why, but a man I'd typically rate a "5" will be rated a "9" with that scent.
I haven’t seen that bottle of exclamation in 30 years. It’s the one perfume I remember having in 1990 my freshman year of high school. I didn’t start buying expensive perfume until I got a job. I remember wearing Calvin Klein eternity and Clinique happy.
Girl you cracked me up with some of your stories, especially the one about your father. When that fragrance came out, I had to have it. It wasn’t pricey but at that time it was for me. I couldn’t wait until I got my bottle and I reaked in it, because I waited so long. Also I laughed about opening fragrances in the car as soon as you get in the car. I even had a special little knife just for that. One day after opening a bottle of perfume, ooo I didn’t like it. I went right back in the store and returned it, scandalous huh? Lol. Thanks for sharing. I would like the Issey Miyake one, I love it. Please continue to share your stories. Also, I still love Karl Lagerfeld on a man.
Girl you had me tearing up also when you sprung that exclamation bottle on us! I doused myself in that stuff...it reminds me of high school basketball games and thick sweaters. I'm a little older than you because I graduated high school in 89...but I believe it had been popular for a few years. I LOVE those bold scents of the 80's: Ciara, Giorgio, Anne Klien II and yes I wore Liz Claiborne as well but it was in a plastic encased yellow triangular shaped bottle. I've always been a grown woman in my mind....LOL...even wore Clinique Aromatics Elixir as a young adult. Thanks for the trip down memory lane...and I'm interested in the Issey Miyake. I still keep a bottle around for everyday in the Spring and even some Summer nights.
Hey Shena Brown, Liz Claiborne did come in the little colorful triangle bottles. Yes you were a grown woman wearing Clinique Aromatics. I purchased it once because a salesperson told me it was for mature woman and I wanted to smell like a mature woman. Girl, I had to return it, it was too much even for me lol:)
Graduated in 87 and I also rocked that Liz in the white box and yellow triangle bottle. and EVERYTHANG Giorgio sold, enough to get some bomb gifts with purchase. Even visited Giorgio in Beverley Hills one summer. I forgot allll about that until right now. Thanks!
I wore and loved so many fragrances back in the day and now it seems like every perfume I smell has that same harsh, nasty chemical undertone, as if perfumers are all using the same vat of aroma chemicals LOL. Some of my favorites when I was younger: Liz Claiborne Vivid and the original Realities Malibu Musk Giorgio Red and Red 2 White Shoulders Ici Fire and Ice L'effleur Dazzling Gold and Dazzling Silver Donna Karan Gold Rapture by Victoria's Secret (plus pretty much anything VS back in the day) Sand and Sable Peach Soft Musk by Avon Escada Lily Chic For men, my two loves were Preferred Stock and Gravity. OMG, those two fragrances made me melt whenever I smelled them! I liked Stetson and Drakkar Noir, too, which most of the guys wore in high school.
My best memory would have to be Drakkar. The reason it's a wonderful memory is because it was the first scent my dad ever purchased for me. I was that guy who said "I'm wearing Drakkar." It will never get old to me. Thank you for taking me back. I guess Drakkar would be the one I would love to win!!
My first memory of my first fragrance was with my dad. I was about 8. And I spent the weekend with him. As we got dressed for church, he allowed me to splash 💦 some of his Grey Flannel on. I fell in Love with that sent. And asked my mom to buy it as a Christmas gift. And my first crush actually wore exclamation! Still love the smell of that...
Malik Rashad normally I will purchase and smell in the car, if I don’t like it I immediately return. If I’m unsure I take it home and let it dry down more. But you can always return or exchange
In the 80’s and 90’s I wore Egyptian Musk Oil...I still do when I wanna reminisce on the good old days. Red Door was the bomb, Sand & Sable in a pinch, Donna Karan Cashmere something...Anais Anais as a teen. Thank you lady!
My back in the day memories. Ciara and Candid that my mom wore. Jovan Musk that my dad wore. I bought minis that I wore in high school. I remember Dali, Misha. I had a small bottle of Pavlova once. My Aunt wore, and still does, Wind Song. My mom said my grandma wore Youth Dew, but when I smell it now, I don’t recognize it as something she smelled like.
My mum didn't have much money. But she would buy Estee Lauder Private Collection for me. She's been gone for 15 years now and I still keep a bottle as it reminds me of our relationship. She only ever wore Clinique AE, and it suited her more than anyone I know. It never smelled overpowering or obnoxious on her at all. Its insane how a fragrance can bring you to your knees with emotion
My mom still wears Clinique Aromatics Elixor, it's her favorite. I bought her some for Christmas. When I was little when she couldn't find it at Drug Emporium then she'd wear Anais Anais.
Great Review and Funny, I did a Fragrance Flashback Video a while back and the scent was Joop Nightflight. Ahhhhhh the memories!!! Thanks for sharing yours.
My sister got Exclamation for christmas in '89 as well, I was 9 and I can still smell it I loved it, the Vanilla was so nice . I actually smelled it on a girl who came in to my work and asked if that was what she was wearing she was so supprised I knew what she had on. I love polo green I know it smells old man/granpaish but whne I wear it it reminds me of him. and I love old school frags
I thought I arrived when I got some Exclamation. I still love that smell today. Also, not sure if it was a perfume or a body spray but Primo was that ish too.
I really really love this video - I wish more content went back in perfume time. Exclamation was one of my first fragrance, too! Along with Navy, Alyssa Ashley Musk and Skin Musk in that green bottle. What memories. In the 90’s it evolved to Pleasures and Vanilla Fields - which I still love to this day. Any time you want to down memory lane like this, I’ll happily go with you 💗
My 1st job I bought Jadore perfume, up to this day I still wear it, but it doesn’t smell that good as my memories. My soon to be husband bought me Tommy Hilfiger , I still wear it when I want a new bag. I think my all time favorite is revenge, I bet you guys have never smelt revenge. Omg, it smells like a movie, thin line between love and hate.
My mom wore Givenchy Amarige when I was growing up, and while she has many other favorites, she's remained loyal to Amarige. I can't smell it objectively, since to me it's just the Smell Of Mom. Exclamation! I remember seeing the bottle on my sister's dresser, but I don't recall the smell of it. My sister actually got me my first bottle of cologne, Roots Uniscent (basically a CK One dupe), for Christmas when I was 12. It was a fresh, green, citrusy thing, but I thought it was so classy smelling, I hardly ever wore it, saving it for "special occasions"! And, ahh, Polo. I know it's dated, but I still think it's a drop-dead gorgeous scent. I feel like I'm walking through a snow-covered forest when I wear it.
Hi Eva, I got chills and got teary eyed when you told the Exclamation story. Not too long ago, I gifted a set of oldies to my best friend and Ex was there. I did that as a joke/prank on her because she used to prank me all the time while in high school. I am 41 now and I looove the nostalgia of back then when we were teenagers and that fragrance was what was in with Debbie Gibson and all. About Liz Claiborne: I almost bought it, was going to spray it in the car (yes, I'm one of those car sprayers) and the cashier was so nice that let me spray it before I paid for it. I was like "uh uh, nope". Thank got I didn't buy it. It had its moment back then but not anymore. Drakkar: yes, I bought it for one of my boyfriends and for my ex-husband as well. It is a very manly fragrance. Eva, I always enjoy your original topics, keep 'em coming. I am a compulsive perfume buyer, I just love perfume, its my thing. My all time favorite is Lou Lou by Cacharel, I am that type of girl since I was a small girl. I always have a bottle of Lou Lou among the many others that I have. It is an unforgettable scent memory that I have that will always stay in my brain and heart. I love you girl!
Katy Canino, Thank You so much for watching:) I have never smelled Lou Lou but not long ago I found a bottle of Anais Anais and had to pick it up. I love it.
Curve used to be my favorite back in school & some other flanker of it I can't remember. Cool water was the bomb too! Nothing wrong with a lil nostalgia in the collection!
Exclamation was EVERY preteen/tween/teenagers favorite scent back in the day. I got a bottle for Christmas too and I just remember feeling so mature wearing it. ❤
Polo blue, eternity CK, Gravity, Cool water, aspen, Tommy Boy, polo sport, gap cologne, driven by derek jeeter these scents are so classic and really do take you back to a better time... polo blue and tommy boy are my favs.
My best friend (for 30 years now) wore “Exclamation” all through high school and when I smell it, I think of her. Last week I saw a small stocking stuffer size of it and wanted to buy it for her. 💙
If you were wondering if The Liz Claiborne for Men was a frosted bottle it changed and I think that the clear bottle could be the newer design and changed from the old design like when Cool Water used to have all that cursive and became all in caps for Davidoff and cool water in cursive.
I’m new to your show. I remember my first Liz Claiborne perfume that l got .I was 13 and I had to work to get it. I had to clean my Granny’s house for 3 months wiping walls cabinets floors everything. I had to master making a bed like they do in the hospitals.my Granny just wanted me to know you as a woman need to work for what you want. Learn how to safe up my money. She was right I bought my first Liz Claiborne perfume and handbag with my own money at 13 I was so proud of myself. Thank you for taking me back in time .
My husband bought me Issey Miyake a few years back. Unfortunately, it didn’t smell good on me. I still have it maybe I’ll try it again. I love Lagerfeld. I was corporate cashier at CBS years ago and an older man came to my window one day and he smelled heavenly. I asked him what he was wearing and he said LAGERFELD. I’ve loved it ever since. When I got married I told my husband he had to wear Lagerfeld. He did for awhile but I think he likes Gucci colognes better. Love your reviews.
This video came at the right time cause I'm on my search for old fragrances for my collection. Cause I was a baby during those time and really wanted Dana baby love but couldnt wear perfume lol. But now that im older I cant wear cause of allergies but I do wear perfume from time to time and I want a collection tho. Sn: I want the whole Elizabeth Taylor collection yeah old lady smell but my top fav is white diamonds. My Fav from the past were Liz Claiborne the yellow triangle. Elizabeth Arden Red Door. Red by Giorgio beverlyhills. Versace red jeans. Jean Paul Gaultier And Avon favs were Imari and Far Away. There's so many I want to collect just to have and reminisce.
I was obsessed with Liz but I remember a different bottle. And seeing the men’s bottle made me remember that my husband wore it. I just bought my son a little coffret of Polo but the green smells a little different to me. Just saw a Lagerfeld gift set in Walgreens and it brought back memories. ❤️
I remember a girl I dated in high school wore Exclamation LOL, I also picked up Liz Claborne for men and love it. It is just a clean soap type scent however, the frosted bottle if you can find it last longer. I also picked up some Drakkar and nope, to me it smells too dated. Thanks for brining up the old school memories.
Cool Water was my husband's first scent in the 90s. I don't own it any more but I still have fund memories of it. Other fund memory for me is OLD SPICE aftershave. My father used only Old Spice (Jamaica).
Girl you took me back with Exclamation. I didn't think they still sold that. My 1st perfume purchase was Liz Claiborne and I thought I smelled good. I actually bought Cool Water as my son's 1st cologne when he was about 10. My son is 23 now and he still wears Cool Water & Nautica. Tfs💕
@@evamonroe Back in the day..... 😂 I STILL wear it.... I actually wore it today! Anywho, I'm sure you get this a lot, but you are so beautiful! You look like a brown sugar Barbie.
You took me back to the days of Calvin Klein Eternity. My first serious boyfriend bought that for me and it smelt AMAZING on me. I found a bottle at Marshalls the other day and bought it. When I saw the title of this video, I had to click on it.
Wowww one of my 1st scents I loved me some exclamation, Liz Claiborne realities and the red triangle my 1st boyfriend still remembers how good I smelled when we dated Miyake for men is still one of my FAV Joop and Largerfeld were very sexy scents on men
I was 15 when my then boyfriend used Fahrenheit. I truly loved how he smelled. A year later, I met my now husband & he used Drakkar. Yum! He smelled like Irish Spring, Drakkar & cigarettes. 😆 That Christmas he wanted a new cologne but it needed to be Fahrenheit & I said no no no no! Lol. Anyways, yeeeeeears later hubby still wanted to get a bottle of Fahrenheit & I gifted it to him for Father’s Day. I don’t associate that smell with the ex - it’s all hubby! Anyways, thank you for sharing your stories. Your Christmas story is so sad but mama pulled through. The things a mother will do to make her children smile. I love that story - so heartwarming ❤️
I was born in 76. My fragrance in high school (grad 94) so like '92 was intimate. I guess it was by Revlon. I was SO HOPING to hear somebody else liked it. lol.
YAAAAASSSS Exclamation! Hello Junior High all over again!!! I own a bottle I purchased at Walgreens and Sistah I rock it today!!! I display it’s proudly next to my House of Sillage and Tom Fords
My best scent memory is during my first year of marriage using Liz Claiborne's vivid perfume. I recently bought a bottle and upon first spray all the memories came flooding back. I'd love the issey miyaki please.
Aww well I don't have any scent memories with those fragrances but I do have one that I will never forget. White diamonds oh my! I wore that frag in middle school. That was my Chanel number 5 Lol... but I am interested in the izi miyake for her if I am eligible.
Another great video Eva. My main go to scents back in the mid 80's to early 90's was the original Perry Ellis, Giorgio and Osca De La Renta Pour Homme!
My fagrance memory was the liz Claiborne. My cousin had it and I too would sneak and put some on and also had Ralph Lauren Safari...used to love that one too. I would love to win the Issey Meiaki ( i know Im spelling it wrong lol )
You quickly mentioned Nicole Miller...that “was” my signature, everything, everyday perfume of choice! Everyone always told me I smelled so good all of the time! Spring, summer, fall, winter...I wore this all year ‘round. Unfortunately Nicole Miller discontinued the fragrance 😢. Would have loved to hear your opinion on it.
I can relate to your story. One Christmas, my mom had a financially difficult year and that year she bought these beautiful outdoor decorations. She was so happy when she put them outside. Overnight, they were robbed. I still feel upset to this day. I love your list, you're a 90s lady and Im a decade later (Gucci Rush, CK One, Lolita Lempika etc).
I was told by him - to call him ROB - in front of the ladies lol - after he grew his wings - I requested his bottle of Joop and held onto it to this day
Wonderful memories -
I've never tried the Issey Miyake - sounds beautiful - would love to try that
Yes, Malibu Musk and Sand and Sable made me think I was grown LOL.
Wow Rhonda Izard, No Words! This was so beautiful to read!! I think it brought tears to my eyes. I love this story about your mother. 😍
Sorry to hear that. I've heard other reviewers say that Youth Dew has to be sprayed very lightly in the air, walked in and it takes an hour (hair, makeup, eat a snack) to settle before meeting people. I'm having more success with this method for managing intense scents I like.
I wore the Loves Baby soft and my grandma sold Avon so we played in her samples of Candid and Imari..😊
Oh yes, I remember Loves Baby Soft. Every girl carried loves in her little purse lol. I was an Avon girl as well.😍
@@jen5487 Sounds like my mom, too.
Baby Blake90 you ain saying nothing unless you used Jeanate (pronounced Jeanatay). Lololol
Erin Wellsch, I actually ordered Navy for this video and it showed up late. The video was almost incomplete without Navy because it was one that I covered myself in when I was in school, lol. The bottle showed up and it still smells like the old Navy back then.
I loved this, the story about Christmas and your parent most wonderful video ever.
Thank You for watching nicole schatz:)
Back in the day my boyfriend which is now my husband used to wear Drakkar. I loved the way it smells. I would love to win it. I loved your stories.
Oh, you just made me cry with that Exclamation story. Bless your parents!
OMG I did use Exclamation too. Loved it. I am sorry what happened.
Jacky Muzo that was my high school perfume in the 90s. Lol
Wow, I cried and laughed watching this entertaining video. Now I understand your passion regarding perfumes. This really took me down memory lane. My fragrance at the time was Gorgio of Beverly Hills🤣🤣
Yeama Neal, Thank You so much for watching. Oh how I remember Gorgio Of Beverly Hills!! :)
Back in the day everybody and their Mother & Sister and “brother” wore Giorgio. I remember that well. I think it was the most popular fragrance ever.
Kimmy Kim that scent used to give me a headache 🤕
Tannika Myers I loved Safari for so long, and nobody I know hardly remembers it. Thank you for that memory!
I forgot exclamation existed UNTIL YOU JUST WHIPPED IT OUt! Omg the memories. Ahhhh I want to smell it again! So fun.
This was one of the best videos I’ve watched in a long time! I remember each and every one of these.
What a great video! I don’t think I have seen a throwback video like this. Thanks for sharing your memories. My old school memory was my moms Jean Nate’ lol.
Omg yessssss
This video brought back so many memories. My mom use to wear Coty Wild Musk Oil. I wish I could find it.
Yes, Issey.
Check out FragranceNet, Fragrantica, PerfumeX :)
Vintage givenchy gentleman, for me its the best fragrance ever made. I have around 500ml of original juice, i cant help myself from smelling it every morning.
Thanks for the great content as always
I loved Exclamation, it reminds me of Beverly Hills 90210, and freestyle music, I wore this when I was in junior high school in 1990.
Drakkar is barbershop meets designer. And your comment about the way people used to say Drakkar in the 80s and it’s prestige is so spot on ! Great channel. I subbed. Please do more men’s fragrance reviews. You’re really good at it
Issy miyaki! For sure. Best old school and last forever. I have back up to the back to the back up
My dad wears that old green polo and I had to update him to boucheron than I really updated him with Dior savage I couldn't leave my mom out all she wore was white diamond ,calandra , and Oscar updated her with boucheron than Chanel for Christmas they are getting updated again cafe rose for mom and ombré leather for dad, but it's funny because my dad still won't leave that old green polo alone 😂😂😂
Charoletta77, Your parents are very lucky to have you:)They are getting some really nice upgrades:) Cafe Rose!!! Your mother is going to love that.
My mother loved it and had the exclusive gift set limited to selfridges here in the UK late 80's.
I love cool water, so fresh and crisp
You look great. The glow on your face is amazing. Not to mention your voice. Its always a pleasure to listen to you. Authentic and real.
Elizabeth Mbugua, Thank You for the lovely compliment:)
My husband wears one of my ex’s scents too! I like it no matter who it is on! Issey Miyaki for men..... still makes me blush:)
LOVE THIS VIDEO!
My back in the day jams were Prescriptives, Navy, Imari, Poison, Anais Anais, CK One
For men: cool water, Polo green, Safari for men.
Lulu, you have some great ones here.😊
Prescriptives Oh yes. I forgot about that.
I love Curve, when I was in my twenties, I would hang out at the Elks, and I was learning how to ballroom dance,
this man who smelled so good to me, I started wearing curve, the one for men, yes I did; and now that I am married, I buy it for my husband and I even make my own soaps and body butters out of the oils.
Hey Toiya Adams, I can totaly see Curve working well on a woman. I love homemade body butters and soaps. Its always nice when things are made with love and natural products. :)
Love Curve! So yummy on my husband! 😋 That's like his signature scent! 😊💞
Lol Sylvia Jackson, not scandalous at all! Ain't nobody got time to drive all the way back to the store to return something😂😂!!
Thanks!
I graduated 1990, and I was #teamLizClaiborne Lol My parents would be like, "you're not going to work, why do you need to be jazzy EVERY day" Lol
I wore and loved so many fragrances back in the day and now it seems like every perfume I smell has that same harsh, nasty chemical undertone, as if perfumers are all using the same vat of aroma chemicals LOL.
Some of my favorites when I was younger:
Liz Claiborne Vivid and the original Realities
Malibu Musk
Giorgio Red and Red 2
White Shoulders
Ici
Fire and Ice
L'effleur
Dazzling Gold and Dazzling Silver
Donna Karan Gold
Rapture by Victoria's Secret (plus pretty much anything VS back in the day)
Sand and Sable
Peach Soft Musk by Avon
Escada Lily Chic
For men, my two loves were Preferred Stock and Gravity. OMG, those two fragrances made me melt whenever I smelled them! I liked Stetson and Drakkar Noir, too, which most of the guys wore in high school.
I forgot about Fire and Ice.
Love Rapture! As a matter of fact, I am wearing it today!!
Hey Christopher, a very sweet memory. I've never met you but I can hear you saying "I'm wearing Drakkar" lol😊
@@evamonroe You make it seem like we have already met you.🤣🤣 We just need to get a smaller version of Scentexplore in St. Louis
I loved smelling Drakkar on men 👍🏿😊
im so sorry to hear this story, it broke my heart. loved the list. subscribed , you are awesome
I use to love exclamation noir! This video brought back some very fond memories.
I use to work in a fragrance store in the mall back in the 90's so all of this brings back some memories.
I wish they had testers at Marshalls and TJMaxx so bad.
Malik Rashad normally I will purchase and smell in the car, if I don’t like it I immediately return. If I’m unsure I take it home and let it dry down more. But you can always return or exchange
SemiSweetQuietType I do the same thing but I know at some stores they say if you open the box you cannot return it
Malik, they should have testers.
SemiSweetQuietType, very true there and Ulta are two places I will return things to in a minute, lol.
eva monroe they really should I know the have them at nordstorm rack too
In the 80’s and 90’s I wore Egyptian Musk Oil...I still do when I wanna reminisce on the good old days.
Karabo Harrison, We all have to have a new bag scent right, lol!! Who is Revenge made by? I would love to smell it.
I had a friend about 20 years ago and that was his fav. That is the first fragrance I thought about when I read the video title.
I recently buy cool water for my husband and I love it. Especially in the summer.
Eva the stories are so great & funny!! 😂 And this is taking me back to days when you loved a perfume. You drowned yourself in it!!! 😂😂😍😍😍
I'm so ready to rock my Karl lagerfeld classic and especially k.lagerfeld jako..the 90's were amazing.
Wow I also love that when I was younger and 💘 it and I seen it in Walmart and just bought the story 3 months ago😁😁👍
My best friend (for 30 years now) wore “Exclamation” all through high school and when I smell it, I think of her. Last week I saw a small stocking stuffer size of it and wanted to buy it for her. 💙
Yesss, You should pick it up for her. It still smells exactly the way I remember it smelling:)
Love hearing all the memories! That is what perfume does, makes you have thoughts and feelings of days gone by.
I love all your memories and parfums, thanks for sharing. My favorite one is: Exclamation!!!
Cool water is another one I just got this year but I bought the mild deodorant version by mistake. I need to get the original
Hey AmyBEgirl:) Yeah Liz back in the day came in small plastic triangle bottles. Polo green is very different.
I totally had Exclamation and thought I was the coolest!! I actually really enjoy Issey Miyake. This was a fun video
Tfs💕
Curve oozes pheromones from my husband! 😂
What about Pleasures by Estee Lauder? Am I the only one that loved that 20+ years ago.... And still do?
Vidamia Drummond, I loved Pleasures! It smelled sooo nice back in the day.
@@evamonroe Back in the day..... 😂 I STILL wear it.... I actually wore it today!
Anywho, I'm sure you get this a lot, but you are so beautiful! You look like a brown sugar Barbie.
Vidamia Drummond brown auger Barbie I will have to borrow that term!! Love it
You took me back to the days of Calvin Klein Eternity. My first serious boyfriend bought that for me and it smelt AMAZING on me. I found a bottle at Marshalls the other day and bought it. When I saw the title of this video, I had to click on it.
Wowww one of my 1st scents I loved me some exclamation, Liz Claiborne realities and the red triangle my 1st boyfriend still remembers how good I smelled when we dated Miyake for men is still one of my FAV Joop and Largerfeld were very sexy scents on men
Sue Lee the Cutie it look like you smell Heavenly like that Flower Bomb Fragrance 🌹💣
I was 15 when my then boyfriend used Fahrenheit. I truly loved how he smelled. A year later, I met my now husband & he used Drakkar. Yum! He smelled like Irish Spring, Drakkar & cigarettes. 😆 That Christmas he wanted a new cologne but it needed to be
Fahrenheit & I said no no no no!
I was SO HOPING to hear somebody else liked it. lol.
I wore Valentino in the 90's and Sunflowers. I wish i can find Valentino. I also wore YSL Paris still wear that perfume sometimes
Sherlene Shaw, Yep we cant forget about Sunflowers. I use to cover myself in that one. LOL. It really was a nice fragrance though.
I still wear Paris, too. Brings back memories of my senior year in highschool.
So my fav was Calyx by prescriptives and I like gray flannel for guys back in the late 80's early 90's
Crying now. I remember Exclamation. Wow. Thanks so much for sharing this.
YAAAAASSSS Exclamation! Hello Junior High all over again!!! I own a bottle I purchased at Walgreens and Sistah I rock it today!!! I display it’s proudly next to my House of Sillage and Tom Fords
i used to love Colors by Benetton. curve for men was everything!! Same with Joop
I forgot about Bennetton! That was huge in the 90s
I wore Luz Claiborne EVERYTHING! Sweaters, slacks, shoes, handbags, perfume My parents were sick of me, because I was obsessed Lol
Boy you sure back back memories with !!!!! What a touching story as well .. Besides !!! I also wore Ralph by Ralph Lauren and Eternity ♥️
Christina Martinez, That is so terrible. There are some mean people out here.:(
