  • I get a lot of questions on how my Mova Globes are doing. So here is an update after five years. They are all fine. Almost as good as new other than my Pluto having weird sound when moved. I have Venus, Moon, Earth, Mars, Uranus and Pluto.

    Is it me or did the Earth stop turning at around 4mins 52 seconds and kinda very slightly start to turn the opposite way at around the 6mins 35second mark??

      That happens because I have them too close together. I talk about that in one of my other videos. They should be about 12 inches apart.

    First I ever heard of Mova Globes was from seeing unboxings on your channel. Lucky you got as many as you did when you did, and whether or not you have every globe it’s a beautiful collection, cool to see them all together in one video.

      Aww thank you. They are amazing little things. But it's a shame they aren't affordable any more. It does bug me when I see it that I'm missing several, but I do enjoy how lovely the ones I have are.

    Thank you for making this update! I'm interested in one but will probably wait awhile. Very good description of your disappointments and your opinions ❤

      No prob. I'm glad you liked the update. I hope you can get one. They are wonderful little globes and very enjoyable once obtained.

    I like those, and I like seeing yours because I know I can't afford any. Uranus is such a pretty globe, I kept looking over at it in the video.

    • @ScaryFear
      @ScaryFear  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I can't afford them anymore either. They are now 210. Just totally messed up. I feel for everyone that wants one and can't get them. Yes that one is so pretty. Very budgie blue.

    I ordered one, it costs 300 euros around here, but seeing many positive TH-cam reviews it seems to be a worthwhile Investment.

    very nice collection i wonder if they will see competition from a similar company

    • @ScaryFear
      @ScaryFear  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you. I think it would be great if some other company came out and did give them competition. Forced them to lower the prices to a more reasonable state.

  • @tsuchan

    I see that the patents have expired on Mova Globes, so maybe it won't be too long before there is price competition in the market.

      Oh wow. Good researching. Yes would be great if someone else made these at the same quality but reasonable prices. Thanks for the info.

    They look brilliant but I'm confused at the sizes available. Doesn't seem to work out as a collection in my head because the size differences don't really work out

    • @ScaryFear
      @ScaryFear  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can get different sizes 4.5 inch, 6 inch or 8 inch. I was going to mix it up originally like I said in the video, but with the price jumps I'm sticking with all the same at 4.5 inch.

    I think pluto spins faster than the rest

    • @ScaryFear
      @ScaryFear  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would because it's smaller. The bigger they get 6 and 8 inches the slower they will turn.

      @@ScaryFearI find that strange, Jupiter is very large yet in reality makes a full rotation faster than most of the other planets. Guess all the mova globes have the same rotation speed.

    • @ScaryFear

      Yes, all the mova globes of the same size have the same speed.

      This Pluto is 4 inches. That size has sadly been discontinued. I don't know why the smallest ones came with a lens stand. I talk about this in the video. But that's great. Congrats. Which one you getting?

    Sadly we only have the smallest size available here in New Zealand and only about eight of the total range. I'm deciding which ONE I'll be selling a kidney to afford because they're $335. Ouch. I hope the CEO of Mova is enjoying his gold plated private jet these days because for what they are, crazy expensive 😄

    Air Bubble and stopped rotating but self healed
    Mine (4.5 inch Earth) developed an air bubble after 1.5 years and stopped spinning. I placed it on my window sill where the blinds filtered the sunlight and placed paperclip on top to get it to spin (I thought I can live with the bubble). The rotation stuttered even with the paperclip. I left it like that for 2 months (this is during fall/winter and it was cloudy or overcast) It finally started to rotate and the bubble seemed to get a bit smaller.
    I took it off the windowsill and placed it back on a table in indirect sunlight 2.5 m from the window. It rotated without the paperclip and now there is no bubble. I haven't come across a review where it 'self healed' with the bubble disappearing and it rotates freely again, which is why I wanted to post this to see if anyone else experienced this or to let others know there is hope. Or my globe's experience is an anomaly.

      Wow thanks for the info. I think I've been lucky that mine haven't gotten bubbles in all this time.

      Zioncoleman, yeah when I started they were $160 and there was a smaller one that was 140. Oh man they raised it again. Yeah it's not happening. I'm never finishing. I'm glad you got Pluto. Jupiter is my favorite and I never got it. Was saving it for last. What a shame.

      @@ScaryFear Yeah, $160 is much more reasonable! Who knows, maybe if you can save up a bit you can still get Jupiter.
      I’m still gonna try to get Jupiter, but it I’ll probably be until later, since I already bought Pluto. So far I only have three right now. Those being the Earth, Venus (which is my favorite planet) and Mars! :)
