Thank you for making this video man. I also have been tapering off several meds for the past 2 years. Things do get better. It might feel like there is no end at times but it does come. Keep focusing on those small windows of healing and trust your body. It is working to recover.

I'm on 1mg of diazapam, after taking it for 12 long years, I was prescribed 10mg and 16 months later I'm down to 1mg, next and final taper April 15th!!! It's been a mind game, and very challenging but I'm hopeful for the future. Sending you love ❤❤❤❤❤

I somehow found one of your videos where you talked about SVT and Benzos. I know you ended up not having SVT. I did have SVT since I was a child and eventually it got so bad I started taking Benzos in my 20s for anxiety from it. So then I had two problems. SVT was corrected in 2000. Lorazepam was another story. I did finally get off Lorazepam in 2012 at age 45 years old. I wish you nothing but the best. You will make it through this. In 5 years you'll look back and say I conquered Benzos. And you'll still have your whole life ahead of you!

Had a living nightmare on Ativan. Unbelievable that I started on minimum dose and ended on minimum dose. Started getting worse panic attacks always at the same time of day. This went on for two years. Like stopping the car and running around the parking lot at 70 years old. By a miracle I found a psychiatrist who knew how to properly end the addiction. I was told stopping Cold Turkey can be deadly! Halving the dose over weeks and then adding in sertraline weaned me off it. (Consult your doctor or psychiatrist on this)
When I would have panic attacks and go to the ER or family doctor they would prescribe more Ativan !!!!!

These symptoms can be terrifying. Glad you went to ER, we need to do that when things get so out of control, better to be safe. I agree with the doc, dont cut, just forget about it until you notice improvement, even if it takes a year. Your already are completely acute, don't push it. When things are so hard, I start small. I might be just making the bed, even if its hard. Work on one small accomplishment each day. It will help you feel like you are still engaging in life, even with difficulty, and that helps us feel we have some agency. Tapering is not a race. The point of it is to get stable. Your body wants to heal, and it is, it just can be so very slow, and excruciating. But, it is going to learn how to function without the meds, the element is time. No idea how much, we are all unique. Very impressed that you are allowing yourself to go through so much suffering, keep posting, be patient. Your never alone in this batttle for your health.

I stopped clonazepam & 2 other stronger meds in Feb./24. What helped me
were edibles. They are legal where I live, but even if they weren't, I'd still be
using them til the worst is over. They also have side-effects, but anything
is better than withdrawals ! I had been on 2mgs.day for over 10 yrs. I was
told to expect worse than it actually was. You should also be taking
    Magnesium & Potassium. A one-a-day wouldn't hurt, either. The M & P
will give you energy. Chances are you're deficient in both, anyway. You're
through the worst of it by now. You weren't on it that long. Maybe your Dr.
can prescribe edible THC or CBD oil. I think cbd is legal & will help with
shakes, anxiety and sleep. Good luck & hope you never go back to the *hit!

I am just starting Xanax for the first time again in over 10 years because my anxiety and panic disorder is so bad right now due to physical problems due to my ankle and not being able to work in financial hardships I don't want to get addicted to this stuff but it's the only thing that takes the edge off when I need it. What is everyone on here taking benzos for? Also what do you supplement it with if you have severe anxiety panic disorder that messes with your day-to-day life

    • @Patricksbenzowithdrawal
      @Patricksbenzowithdrawal  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

I can’t speak for others but I can give you my experience. I was misdiagnosed as having a heart condition in 2019. That diagnosis lead to quite a bit of anxiety and panic which was why my doctor started me on Xanax. By the time I’d seen multiple cardiologists and cardio electrophysiologist it has been many months and my body had become dependent on the Xanax. At the time we didn’t recognize that it was physical dependence and I was told my “preexisting anxiety” was worsening and we needed to increase my dosage. This continued until the end of 2022 when we realized it was the Xanax all along making my anxiety worse and worse. This is why I made the decision to withdraw. What I can say if for me the anxiety and panic I experienced prior to taking Xanax was NOTHING, and I truly mean nothing, compared to what I’ve experienced in withdrawal. I’d give anything at this point to go back to that level of anxiety. As debilitating as that seemed I was able to live and work and travel and do normal things. Now? I haven’t been into a grocery store in almost 2 years. I haven’t been able to drive a car in almost 2 years. I’ve spent nearly 2 years almost completely bedridden thanks to the benzos.
No one can tell you what to take or not to take, we all have to make our own choices. I hope you find a good option for you but just know that the level of horror people experience in withdrawal tends to be far far worse than what we experienced prior to the benzos. I’d give anything to go back and never touch a benzo…

Very much correct! They are absolutely miserable. Truly life altering while tapering and healing, but only in very very rare and extreme circumstances are they fatal. Sometimes the feelings just completely overwhelming and convince me it’s killing me so I go to hospital to get checked and make sure. And sure enough, every time everything has been fine. It’s just as they say the normal withdrawal and healing symptoms. But definitely would never advise anyone to go through this without medical supervision. Since that slight risk of seizures is there it’s definitely best to be under the care of a doctor willing to slowly taper you! I’m very thankful to have had the same doctor for many years who is allowing me to go through the slow taper that I needed instead of taking me off too quickly. I’m so thankful for that!

I haven’t tried it but I’ve watched a few videos on it. It’s all be so complicated for me, starting with Xanax and trying to taper which was too severe, then we tried switching to Valium which initially didn’t work a year ago so we went back to Xanax, then tried switching to Klonopin which also didn’t work so then again back to Xanax. And now officially as of 2 months ago fully over to Valium and better on it. I mean, still bad obviously but less intense ups and downs. I planned to keep trying to do a normal taper from here if possible and then if it doesn’t work maybe try water taper. It just seems a bit confusing to me right now since my brain is so messed up. But I’m willing to try it if I can’t taper normally. As of now it’s just focusing on weight and strength and then deciding how to finish off the taper. I have come a long way, my highest Valium equivalent dose was 83 mg, I am down to 6mg. It’s just been incredibly difficult

you said your on 6mg valium? so you would fill the shot glass to the 6th line. this would represent your 6mg of benzo drug water,in two weeks take a syringe and remove drug water till you have just 5 lines (5mg/0.5oz) discard the syring drug water and drink the shot, you just went down presisly 1mg.

And you’re definitely right, they got me into this position so just because they say something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s right. At this point I just want to finish getting off of them as safely but also as quickly as possible. At times I almost wish I’d just CT’d from the start, if it weren’t for the seizure risk I would have. Tapering definitely doesn’t seem to be any easier than CT from my experience at least. Maybe safer as far as seizure risk, but definitely still incredibly difficult

I would love to add a comment but I'm afraid to scare people. This is a tough row to hoe for sure.

I hear so much bad news about it but I have to tell you it has saved my life and has really given me a brand new life being able to take it and go about my day without being incredibly tortured by severe agoraphobia, anxiety and other severe ticks that I have!💯 I would never be able to overcome without my diazepam 10 mg. It breaks my heart to hear that others have such bad problems with this and I pray that you can overcome this🙏❤ for me I really need this medication, to physically go through my day so I don't have a severe agoraphobic attack or anxiety to the point where I locked myself in my room and won't talk to anybody or take medications or do anything for myself to the extremes so this medication is exceptional and it helps my life🙏💯 I have Severe Agoraphobia 💯

Believe me, and everyone else, we’ve all been where you are. If the meds didn’t massively help to begin with none of us would have taken them. We’ve all been to the point we felt like they helped us massively. That is until the day they stop. For me it was 4 years in. And it went from helping me function to making me bedridden. You just have to be very careful because tolerance is a very real thing. It may take time but a point will come where 10mg no longer works and you end up on 20-30-40 and up and truly start to have a problem. The issues I thought the meds were helping were literally nothing compared to what the meds have done to me. I’d give ANYTHING to go back and be able to deal with my issues without meds. I can say with 100% certainty that no matter how severe I thought my anxiety was before taking them, it was literally nothing compared to the horror they can cause. I thank you for the encouragement, and I pray you never end up with an issue but just know and do the research that we’ve all been where you are. And we all end up where I am. Some maybe less severe, some maybe more severe, but they tend to turn for most people. Please just take care of yourself and do the research because if you’re able to deal with issues without them and prevent this from happening to you then trust me it would be worth it. I’ve known no horror, ever, like what these have done. Please please be careful.
