thanks for your kind remarks. I was nine months pregnant in this video and my vocal strength is fragile. i am a better belter now, even after pancreatic cancer - big love and gratitude to all of you who said kind things. xoxo
sounds great!! have bought and loved candye, seeing her anytime she comes to cleveland!! she is great here but does get better and better. GO CANDYE!!!
Candye, Prez Hubbard turned me onto your videos and songs and My friend Jim Klingler used to play with Chris Gaffney he also said check this lady out 'I did and I love you! you are such a good vocalist!!!!
Candye: I saw you with Mystery Train at the Crocodile Lounge (or was it the Alligoator Lounge) on Pico in West LA back in the very late 80's. It was a great show. I'm a big Paladins fan as well. Nice to see you here...
Don't be so hard on yourself,it sounds just fine ta me kiddo.Played alot of clubs, been to even more,so after say 43 yrs of concerts and clubbing,I'd pay my money ta HEAR ya.I love that you found your way to the BLUES,but really CANDYE,you could sing the phonebook and make it sound good.Hope all's well health wise, been a fan since your former "career",and I've bought every disc you've ever done. What can I say,I'm Loyal.Keep on Keepin On.
Very sweet sounding stuff, Candye! Although you've improved as a singer since this video was done, there's still a lot of heartbreak, soul and sex in that voice! You also look very hot in this clip, and still look great today! You rock, Candye! We love you!
maybe i dont sound great on this video from 1988 but its sentimental to me because i was pregnant with my now 19 year old son tommy, and its the only footage of me and my former guitarist jerry sikorski playing together. It also shows my ex husband tom on bass and that day was special for us because it was the day before we were married at the Palomino club in sherman oaks. I appreciate the kind remarks of some, and I admit, I do sing better now but i love this video!
Heh. People who don't listen to live recordings all the time probably can't tell what happens to the human voice without the benefit of a pro sound board and recording rig. Maybe others can't, but I definitely can hear the vocal quality and ability, even in this recording. Good stuff, and strong, too.
That does not sound a bad girl at all.... :-) Candy would be a great country singer as well, and she's great performer and singer in blues - saw her live in Finland Storyville few years back, she rocks !!

Find Tell me a Lie by janet Finkle (I believe original and awesome)

She sings LOTS better; she has an upper range now.
Also, she traded Country music for Blues.
