    Great video, thanks for sharing. We're looking forward to making this trek this year. For those tempted by that peninsula for overnight camping... following leave no trace, please do not set up camp on the water's edge -- stay at least 100 feet back.

    Nice video. We just went up there ourselves a week ago. Curious, what software do you use to create your videos?

    Lots of mosquitoes especially where the creek enters the lake.

    • @JKsouthwest
      @JKsouthwest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was pretty windy when we visited, so the mosquitos were not a problem. Thanks so mucch for watching!

    Was up there over Memorial Day weekend this year. Turned around after about 1/2 to 3/4s of a mile since there were huge ruts. Are those still there?

    • @JKsouthwest
      @JKsouthwest  ปีที่แล้ว

      There were several ruts early into the trail, enough to challenge a stock vehicle, but not too bad. After that, the rest of the trail was pretty smooth. What type of vehicle were you in?

    When did you go? Were you able to go down to the lake? I looked in the national forest website and they say the trail haven’t been cleared yet.

      We went in mid July and the trail was 100% open. We did stop by the local rangers office to check conditions before we headed out, and they said it was all good. Thanks so much for watching!

    Is the trail wide enough for a silverado ?

    • @JKsouthwest
      @JKsouthwest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The trail is wide enough for a Silverado. With the long wheelbase, the only challenging section is right before you drop down to the lake, there is one switchback you will need to complete a 3 point turn on. Thanks so much for watching!
