    "Chains Shall He Break"
    5:00, 7:30, and 10:00 PM
The children’s music recital will start us off at 4:20pm.
Join us for Christmas Eve worship at 5:00, 7:30, and 10:00 PM. Hear the Christmas story and an inspiring message from Pastor Dave, sing carols, and end the evening with the glow of candlelight as we celebrate the birth of Christ in our midst.
In a world where the chains of domination, oppression, and despair often seem unbreakable, we gather here on this sacred Christmas Eve to reflect on a powerful message of hope. As we delve into the narrative of the nativity, we find that the story of Christmas stands as a counter-narrative to the domination narrative that people of ancient times applied to Caesar.
"Chains Shall He Break," a phrase from the beloved hymn "O Holy Night," serves as a fitting theme for our Christmas Eve service. It reminds us that in the birth of Jesus, we discover a profound source of liberation that extends beyond the tyrannical rulers of the past, reaching into our lives today, breaking the chains of violence, oppression, shame, despair, and all that binds us. So, let us journey together exploring how this humble birth brings light into our world, shining in the darkness, and offering a promise of hope and freedom.
Our evening services begin with our Bay Shore children offering their gifts and talents at the annual Christmas Eve Recital. Beginning this year at 4:20 pm, come to experience our children singing solos and in small and large ensembles, and playing carols on the piano, violin, oboe, string bass and cello. Following the recital, our 5:00 pm service music will be lead by our section leaders Shannon Miller, Jenny Paz, Jake Asaro and Michael Rice, and our Bay Shore Children’s Choir will be singing For Unto Us by Natalie Sleeth. Our 7:30 pm service features an early prelude by Jason on the organ and our Bay Shore Bells, and our 10:30 pm service features an early prelude by Jason on the organ and handbell trio and quartet. Our Chancel Choir will lead the sing-a-long carols at both of these services, and our Chancel Choir, Bay Shore Bells and our section leaders have prepared special Christmas music for you. So, whatever service you attend, each one promises meaningful music for this holy night.
