    Taa for that, good tips. I'll try full auto ISO. Previously I'd been setting a top limit and dicking about with shutter if the camera hits it, but have missed a few good shots because of that too and the results may not justify it. Dan's bit looked like a broadcast quality intro or outro; very slick, very commercial and very well paced.

      That's the thing, and like we've discussed before on other videos, if you are shooting underexposed then you'll only add more noise in when you lift the exposure, so in this kind of a "it's going to be high ISO anyway" situations, you're better off shooting the correct exposure in camera to limit how much you're going to pull the pixels afterwards, right? To be honest, the A7r3 handled it really well, totally useable images right up the highest ISO shot which was around 10000 I think.
      Dan will be so chuffed to hear that! This was his first commercial job where I just left him to his own devices - I'm really proud of him!

      @@ThatPhotographySpot Cheers Jess, yes started doing some tests on my Canon and it looks like it's great to 3200, good to 6400, and acceptable to 16000 as long as, like you say, I don't have to push it too far in post or crop more than 50%. And too, when it comes to it Denoise AI does such a good job a bit of noise isn't a problem.

    How do you remedy light flickering bars with a fast shutter speed?

    I have a nikon z6ii and whenever i do indoor shots my photos are super grainy. If my dogs aren't moving i have it at 1/30ish, tried f stop at anything between 1.4 to 5 and iso as low as possible but still pretty bad. Confused since this camera is supposedly good in low light... I also tried auto iso and it's better but still wayyy grainier than I'd like it to be... Ahh the struggles of finding the right settings 🤣 Thank u for another great video!! 🙌🙌👏👏

    Good, but too bad we can't see the photos and I'm interested because I'm hesitant to buy it with the A9 II

      @@ThatPhotographySpot Ah ok and I was able to look on instagram. They are very clear, because I do not know which Sony bought, wanting to change Canon. AF is working well?

      I have the a9II here now but on that day at the job we had an r5 there and it was awesome too!! They’re all great cameras now 🙈

      @@ThatPhotographySpot Ok Thank you I was considering the A9II. Because canon is not so sharp.

    Thanks for the video as always. I photograph my son playing ice hockey quite a bit and indoor ice rinks can be a challenge to get a proper exposure. I typically go full manual and set my iso to 4000 in his home rink but will try auto iso next time. I'm curious what iso your camera was averaging during this session for 1/1250 @ f2.8. The arena looked to be pretty well lit.

    • @ThatPhotographySpot
      @ThatPhotographySpot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ISO for all of these was at least 5000, but at times it moved up to 10,000. However, because the images were well exposed at that, there was no need to lift the exposure/shadows and therefore the images are relatively clean (considering!).
      I would guess at an average of ISO6000 but I can't say for sure!
      The space is quite well lit especially for training, but our cameras were running at high ISOs throughout so it is hard to get a gauge on this video for sure!

    Hey there, lovely video as always. Thanks!
    May i ask, are you guys planning to visit ExCel this weekend(20-21/11/21)?

      No we're not but if you're competing then have a wonderful time and good luck! If you see someone running agility with a liver and white springer spaniel then go say hey from us, that'll be Cassie, one of my besties!

    Just wondering if you have considered the 2nd iteration of the 70-200 f2.8? According to the reviews it's worth upgrading to.

    I love this!!! I have a couple of questions. Do you set a custom white balance before shooting indoors or do you just take a pic of your grey card? Do you set an upper limit for your auto ISO? I understand with most cameras one can set an upper limit. Thank you!!!

    • @ThatPhotographySpot
      @ThatPhotographySpot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aww I'm glad you liked it!
      Grey card usually but I will go and do Lightroom WB batches on the files when they come in. All of the images from this shoot were LR only edits and batch completed too. No upper limit for ISO, because I'm at my minimum shutter speed and minimum f-number too, so the only one that can move for me for exposure is ISO in this situation. Hope those answers help!

    Hi Jess, just found your channel and going through all your videos and I’ve got to say I’ve learnt so much from you already so thank you😊
    Can I ask you a question, if you could only have 1 lens for pet photography what would you chose?

    Very irritating music, I guess Pinky and Perky were before your time?!

    • @ThatPhotographySpot
      @ThatPhotographySpot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think the music goes great with the clips and the vibe of the shoot Gerry, but everyone has their own tastes and that's cool. Pinky and Perky left TV screens 21 years before I was born.
