Obviously there's the criticism of it being London-centric (there are more than enough venues accross the UK and Ireland capable of holding a semi-final of a major tournament, travel times shouldn't be an issue since distances are relatively small compared to recent tournaments). But as well as this, I just think it takes away from the excitement of the final if you host the semi-finals at the same stadium. The point of the tournament should be to get to wembley, just like the FA cup.

Man City's Etihad is generally always the preferred option for any event be it football or concerts. It was built to host 2002 commonwealth games, area around it is 10x nicer for fans & better transport links having it's own tram stop & closer to city centre. I agree Old Trafford's been left to rot but Ethiad generally has logistics & capacity isn't everything but by 2028 it will have 62k anyway vs 53k now.
