YOU are so generous. That alone motivates me. Also, in this video, you are not just giving music practice advice, but advice for life. Wonderful stuff.

Thank you. You really are a good teacher in the best sense possible. I believe everyone has their own sense of tempo and it is usually good. To get these tempos to match and blend with the signature is a bit of a trick!

Great video! I particularly relate to the last point about deciding the perfect routine! I think this will help me improve on those busy days when I'm tired from work. Thanks Mark. 🙂

I saw Mike Walker when he did a masterclass at the RNCM while I was there. Really inspiring, funny and honest!

Yup. Mike is amazing. Always look forward to going and studying with him every year. I learn so much about music. But also a huge amount about life in general. And it's a whole lot of fun...

Thanks, Martin. I'd love to visit Argentina sometime. My brother spent a decent amount of time there many years ago and had a great time.

I so often try to do too much

Yup. I'm frequently guilty of that too, John. At least I tend to recognise when it's happening these days...

Very good video. Maybe its because I am older than most of you but all of this is so obvious and commonsense but I understand it's value for those of you who are young.

I don't know about you, Craig. But I often completely fail to actually apply the "obvious" stuff and end up doing something far less effective instead. This video is as much a reminder to myself as to others. (But, yes - I guess this stuff comes easier to me now than it did when I was younger...)

I’m a lot older but James stuff is really great, especially stuff like the Tetris phenomenon
