I know all of your customers really appreciate your being so respectful of their machines I know I would when my baby goes in for yearly service I just take a deep breathe when I leave her. Thank you for caring
Hi, I hope you had a lovely day! I had a busy day in my sewing room, playing with strings of fabric and now I get to watch you! I hope you have a beautiful week ahead. Thank you for posting this video, sharing your time and talent.
Thank you for your service to our Country. Thank you for sharing your experience here.I have a Pfaff Hobby 1030 a friend asked me to look at. This gives me the courage to move forward with disassembly…..with her blessing. Next will be figuring out why the feed dogs only go up and down and do not feed fabric.
According to the 160S manual it's a "Honeycomb stitch * For sewing on elastic threads, overlocking towel- ling and for decorative hem seams". Good video and repair...
You can also use a 1/4" socket as a little screwdriver bit handle. Another tool that works great as a little handle is a bit extension or bit holder; the type used with a drill.
I'm very grateful for this video as I have this exact machine and I'm feeling tentative about using it as I don't want to break it or misalign some mysterious settings. I am going to follow your sewing machine repair playlist and get confidence before I start playing!
Boy, they sure don't design these things for easy disassembly. Kind of like working on a car. So many things need to be removed to just do a simple repair. And I knew you had to have a mechanical background because of how you work. Didn't know you served 26 years in the Navy. Now that you're retired from the Service, what attracted you to sewing machine repair? I'm considering this in retirement myself and was wondering what it would take to get up to speed and wondering if there's enough work out there to make a living. Thank you for your service, and thanks much for these videos!👍
Lol, I wanted a hobby that could make some money. I tried hundreds of hobbies in my last 10 or so years of service. I enjoyed how each sewing machine is different and makes my use my brain.
Hi! I have just discovered your channel and I am so happy I did! I have a Husqvarna Diamond Royal which has just refused to wind a bobbin. It worked perfectly the last time is used it, but now it refuses to wind the bobbin. There is no longer a HV repair person anywhere near my location. Is that something I could possible fix myself? Thank you so much for any advice you can offer!
First of all, thank you for your service. You don't look old enough to have spent 26 years in the US NAVY. I believe that stitch is called a smocking stitch. At least that's what my Kenmore book calls it. What a shame they didn't just increase the metal frame. That plastic sounds really cheap, like a child's toy. Keep up the good work.
Please my Pfaff 160s machine light has damaged how do I change it,I am from nigeria there re no technicians who repair Pfaff 160s here please I need your direction, please reply
Brother I have a sewing machine wh don't have the upper tensioner this is a probblem, the serial number is a lr43670 can you help me thank you I'm watching.
Hi! First of ali thank you for all your helpfull and informing videos ! I ve watching your videos for some time now and i wanted to ask about your take on sewing machine's country of origin the differences on quallity etc. Take singer sewing machines for example.. there are some that are made in china and some made in vietnam. So i would be happy to here what you thik on that matter. Thank you in advance. Keep it on!
I found that the best way to remove the screw covers is to shape a paper clip into a "Grabber" - then simply bend the end of the paper clip to about a 60 degree angle. I hope this helps you guys.
I am very interested in your little bit holder screwdriver holder!! That is GENIUS!! I do have many tools in my garage, but not like that for my sewing machine! Please post a link when you get this in stock to sell! Thanks for all your great tutorials!
I would love to bring my sewing machine to you but you are on another continent :) I have just one question though:is it really that bad if the machine isn’t cleaned inside like you cleaned this one in the video? I do my best to clean the parts I can reach. I have a Brother Innovis 35 that has never been serviced but it works perfectly. It is 8 years old and I have used it lightly. Should I expect it to be very dirty inside?
Is it just me or is that machine virtually the exact same one as the little grey Singer Heavy Duty ? Edit: Ha no... not at all. From the outside it looks like it could have the same internals, but no, they are quite different ! The singer looks beefier, I understand why Pfaff created a new brand.
It is for this reason that I would not buy a Pfaff machine, because of its ergonomics which makes it difficult and complicated to access the mechanism 🤨
When you checked timing, only you could see it. All we can see is your head with a hat, therefore, I have learned nothing from how to set the timing. I am sorry wasting so much time from watching the video(totally 34 minutes excluding advertisements), nothing but using the screw driver.

I never thought I'd be entertained by a mechanical presentation, lol :) Keep up the good work!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the verses! I'm just amazed that youcan actually remember how to put these machines back together 😮😮 May God bless you and this channel❤

Nothing wrong with the word repair guy!! Great video! Love just watching you work!
Yep. My dictionary says a 'chairwoman' is a "woman who serves as chairman". So, why don't we just call her the chairman?
My PFAFF Hobby 1032 needs some parts replacements. I love the machine. It makes a heavy clicking sound🥺 Glad I found your channel.

Thanks for the info!

No need to reinvent the wheel, indeed....
From submarines to sewing machines-cool! There is nothing so depressing as a badly working sewing machine. Keep up the good work.
Mystery and surprise quarantine! I’ve never used that stitch before, but it’s beautiful.
Thanks!

Man I think you're a genius! I wish you could fix my 1222E pfaff. But I live in or.
So a Pfaff 'Smarter' is just a Singer tRadition or SilverCrest machine. 15:00 SERIOUSLY?
First of all, thank you for your service. You don't look old enough to have spent 26 years in the US NAVY.

Will it damage my home sewing machine to run the tension at 9? I'm sewing Cordura with bonded nylon thread.

Thanks! I'm also thinking of color possibilities for them as well.
Please teach pefaff pasport 03 🙏

Taiwan Made Pfaff?
I think the only part that is Pfaff would be the name.
Honeycomb.

Why are you looking younger? I almost didnt recognize you.
