This song is a perfect example of the importance on researching songs. If you would, this song would have made a huge impact! Pearl and Lynayrd are so important to read on because their song are written about real life events.
Watch the iconic video will leave you shaken. I had a 3 year old and 1 year head banging to this song! Im 58 years young Grunge mom...Eddie has one of the most iconic voice. :Listen to Black and WMA! He was a proponent of social issues before it was real!!!
This is a song about 2 different kids, one that Eddie went to school with and Jeremy who hot himself in front of his entire class in 1992 maybe 91 I'm not positive but seeing the story of Jeremy in the newspaper reminded Eddie of the kid that he was in school with and so he immediately wrote this song to bring the issues to light of bullying etc...
"Black" from this same unplugged session is a must listen. One of my favorite live performances of all times. This whole concert is amazing, up there with the Alice in Chains and Nirvana unplugged.
Sadly...the song did not tell the true story, so it looked like as if pearl jam was capitalizing over someone suicide. Eddie should have reached to his family to know at least the background story. But then we wouldn't get this epic song. But then again, i am sure eddie vedder could have written another epic song about the real life of jeremy delle and honor his stroy
Their performance of Black from this same concert is one you'll want to check out, it's stunningly beautiful and emotional. Eddie is a phenomenal vocalist.
I love Jeremy and Pearl Jam but to truly get the greatness from Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam you HAVE TO DO “ BLACK “ FROM THE SAME UNPLUGGED! Insanely good!! 🔥🔥👍
@@BigPete44 I was just saying that you said to see Eddie vedder's greatness you would need to do black and I was just saying that this vocal performance was technically much better than the one on black so this would suffice in showing his greatness
I don’t know your age but if you were alive in ’92 it would’ve been hard to escape Jeremy on the radio or MTV, so you may have heard it way back then. I’d hold Pearl Jam’s first 3 albums up against any other band of that era. Watching Black and Porch from this same show would be a must. The vocalist, Eddie Vedder, had a very emotional delivery back in those days and his raw vocals, along with the band’s ability to write music that crossed various genres of music, made them one of the top bands in the world during that time. Keep listening to them, but I'd do the albums in order of release. As for other unplugged performances, I don’t think I’ve seen you react to the band Live. They gave an unbelievable unplugged performance in support of their biggest album, Throwing Copper. Full concert here: th-cam.com/video/mwXZtHtOPUw/w-d-xo.html “I Alone” was the big hit from that album, about 22:40 into that video. Other songs of that era you should check out: Jeff Buckley - Mojo Pin (or really anything Jeff Buckley) th-cam.com/video/UuqeGtN6IEs/w-d-xo.html Concrete Blond - Heal It Up th-cam.com/video/sSUi8pZy8BI/w-d-xo.html Cowboy Junkies - Crescent Moon th-cam.com/video/VGBfBd2S9uA/w-d-xo.html Nine Inch Nails - The Becoming th-cam.com/video/9TLHToPm71U/w-d-xo.html The Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen th-cam.com/video/l6ER2_4q5KQ/w-d-xo.html Tons of others. I'm glad people still want to listen to this music - it makes me happy watching people discover bands I've loved for so long.
Also the studio version of this is really good, it has an official video that shows more of the story of the song. It’d be cool to see your reaction to that as well if possible!
It doesn't get any vedder than this! ❤️🤘🏼 Another suggestion for your 365: Glen hansard - Drive all night which is a very beautiful Bruce Springsteen song. Rock on! 🤘🏼🇳🇱🔥
You wanted suggestions? How about one or some of these: Mercenary - 11 dreams or The hours that reamin Essence - Blood culture D-A-D - Bad craziness Raunchy - Warriors or Nght prty Artillery - Legions They are all Danish bands, and I could have put Volbeat up there too, but I think that you might know them already :) Best wishes!
I'm recommending Opeth for one of your bands, specifically the song The Drapery Falls. It's a masterpiece off my favorite record from my favorite band.
Wow, that song takes me back! Yah, surely you must have heard this song, radio, elevator, any bar and grill, etc. It's hard to pick a better song by Pearl Jam, they have many classics. I'll pick one from Nate P's list to recommend you listen to... Live: All Over You from the album Throwing Copper. It's a very 90's song like Jeremy.
Here are some band and song suggestions. Hopefully a few that are new to you. I recommend doing the official studio recorded versions. Alt-J: Taro Beck: E-Pro Broken Bells: Leave It Alone Foster the People: A Beginner’s Guide to Destroying the Moon Radiohead: 2+2=5 Silverchair: Israel’s Son (they were 14/15 when they wrote and recorded this album, which blows my mind) Toadies: I Come From The Water Phoenix: Lisztomania Miike Snow: Genghis Khan Candlebox: Far Behind Joywave: Traveling at the Speed of Light The Fray: How to Save a Life Moby: Extreme Ways Coldplay: Viva La Vida The Fratellis: Chelsea Dagger Of Monsters and Men: Dirty Paws Fuel: Shimmer Live: All Over You Spacehog: In the Meantime Days of the New: Touch, Peel And Stand Matt and Kim: Let’s Go
Awesome to hear live! You have to see them perform Black from this same concert. Hands down, best live performance of any song from the unpluggeds.

Jack Valentino for sure check out black
That twelve string bass in this song is a beast. He also plays it on "Why Go", another PJ track from their first album.
Black live at Pink Pop. Eddie's vocals in the unplugged are awesome but Mike's guitar solo at pink pop is amazing
A MUST dive into all Pearl Jam and their live footage! GOATS!
Black from this same show. You’ll love it. And porch live pink pop 92. Trust ussssss ❤️
❤️ Pearl Jam
“Jeremy spoke in class today”. Jeremy Delle, Richardson, Tx. Age 16, committed suicide; Shooting himself in front of his english class.

@@wholeplatter The song is mix of two stories.
PJ - Black - Unplugged!
You really have to watch the uncensored mv to this song!!!

Their performance of Black from this same concert is one you'll want to check out, it's stunningly beautiful and emotional. Eddie is a phenomenal vocalist.
It's about a boy named Jeremy. who committed suicide in class room in texas in the 90s.
Watch State of love and trust and Black, both the unplugged version - I PJ, can’t wait to see them live this year
I love Jeremy and Pearl Jam but to truly get the greatness from Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam you HAVE TO DO “ BLACK “ FROM THE SAME UNPLUGGED! Insanely good!! 🔥🔥👍
Why Jeremy is a better vocal performance by quite a bit
That’s your opinion not mine so good for you 👍
He did Black 2 months after this and already has more views so not so sure what you’re even saying.

@@BigPete44and views have nothing to do with this so I don't know why you brought that up
same mtv thing watch BLACK by pearl jam. very good.
You MUST watch the original video. It gives the whole story, song based on a child who committed suicide at school.

You should do Pearl Jam Black MTV Unplugged.
Pearl Jam Porch Pinkpop 92 🤘🏻 please :) think you’ll like it !!
Big Wreck. Listen to blown wide open live at suhr or wolves 🙂
Even Flow...
If you want someone completely different watch Dimash Kudaibergen do SOS!! I also suggest Queensryche "Silent Lucidity" it's an amazing song
It doesn't get any vedder than this! ❤️🤘🏼
Another suggestion for your 365:
Glen hansard - Drive all night which is a very beautiful Bruce Springsteen song.
Rock on! 🤘🏼🇳🇱🔥
Alice in Chains from MTV Unplugged 💖💓 you'll love it 🤞
This is about bullying The offical video is pretty dark. It tells the true life of a boy who committed suicide.
Here is another Discover365 suggestion: Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged versions of "Would?" or "Rooster". Equally awesome.

Mercenary - 11 dreams or The hours that reamin
Essence - Blood culture
D-A-D - Bad craziness

Dave A🤘
Check out a couple of what I guess might be considered deep cuts off of the Binaural album... I like Light Years and Of the Girl in particular.

Black has been done a thousand times on TH-cam. Porch from PinkPop has been done a thousand time on TH-cam. Be bold and do something different.
Do stone temple pilots bro
Which song??
@@Luniversed If you want the song everyone does, you'd go for Plush. If you want to go for a good song nobody has done, you can go for Still Remains.
