Dear The Head and The Heart, come back to this sound please. You guys sound great still and I'm excited about the new album but this shit gives me goosebumps every time I play it. It was so good!! This is where you all shine. I realize it will not be possible without Josiah, but I miss this H&H. That is all. Thanks.
I agree. Its all good, trying something new, new songs & new sounds, but the old songs and sounds were and are still GOLD!!!! Please keep the old moving along with the new.
I don't know Josiah, actually I heard of H&H 2 w ago through a friend. Got tickets, went to the show yesterday - and it was just amazing. This morning I am still listening and getting to know more of their songs. Sure you cannot miss something, you never experienced... But I am glad my friend shared good music and a great concert with me.
Cheryl Waters seems to bring the best bands of all the hosts. These People (The Head And The Heart), are just great talents. There music is so organic and pure. They inspire me to fire up my looper and jam. Once again great job KEXP and Band. Thanks.
for real. KEXP is amazing. I review every band online for festivals that I go to (Coachella, BFD, Warped Tour, Outside Lands) and I try to find a KEXP session for them. Makes it really easy to see if you like the band listening for 20 min. Keep up the great work KEXP
I can't stop coming back to this and listening over and over. The Head and the Heart is one of my favorite bands over the past year or so and this is such a good session. Bands need to stop doing the iTunes sessions and just go on KEXP because this sounds so much better.
Nick Coplen obviously years later, I agree. I started listening to this session in 2012 and it has been a regular an my playlists ever since. Lots ov their music is great on TH-cam. However, I only like their live recorded music. I don't enjoy their studio recorded music. Its too pop indi. But I definitely love this session. Check out NPR and tiny desk convey sessions.
I had the pleasure of meeting them at the Dom Cathedral in Cologne Germany last year and saw them later that night open for My Morning Jacket. They were so friendly and down to earth. They were amazed that I ran into them there all the way from Oklahoma and I thought the same. I sat and spoke with Joshia after the show for awhile, and it is one of my best memories of my Europe trip. I didn't even get a picture, but I don't need one. Their music help me through some times and became my soundtrack
this band ceases to amaze me...i have seen them play 8 times...i keep thinking i hear all the music they have taped and yet a 23 min video of pure beauty and harmonic perfection pops into our lives...i am so grateful THATH even exists and appriciate their words and beautiful tunes.
I stumbled upon this video about 2 years ago and I loved it and and started listening to more and now thath is one of my favorite bands! This version of honey come home is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard:) thanks kexp
Gah!! It's just too damn good! Been listening to this video for years and years, and here I am again to hear those sweet sweet harmonies and chords. ^_^
This band is unbelievable...their sound never gets old, and only better with time. They're crazy good live...best of luck to them...I wish more people would find out about them and enjoy their raw, pure sound. Much love
You're totally right. I agree so much with you. That's why exists real music and fake music. I wish every voice could have the opportunity to prove their talent in sessions like KEXP.
Love the untitled song just with the trio...I imagine it'll sound even more amazing with the rest of the guys! Here's hoping it will be on the next cd.
I wish they'd go back to the folksy harmony type stuff after hearing Signs of Light. Still good, but the folk and folk rock in their self titled and Let's be Still was way better.
I don't mean to take away from the immense talent displayed here. The originality, the harmony and the beautiful execution. I can't take my eyes off of Chastity. I have always thought she was adorable and I loved her muted presence and musical talent in the band. But, in this, she is a striking beauty. The chiseled lines, the radiant face and as always that demur presence. I guess it's obvious I am in love. But it really deserves to be spoken. She is radiant.
My gosh I just love them. They sounds great as a trio, get all that percussion out of there. And I (like many other men on here) think Charity is just the coolest.
I still think this is the best way to see THATH, and this is an amazing performance. I dont mind the full band for many of the songs, but whoever produces their albums puts way to much focus on "production" and instrumentation, and not nearly enough on acoustics and their amazing voices!
0:55 - honey come home
5:00 - ever since (chasing a ghost)
15:35 - fire/fear
19:52 - homecoming heroes
daniel thanks man

It will never sound this good again without Josiah.
The first album is one of the best albums I've ever heard, by any band. brings a smile to my face and tears in my eyes.
I agree. Its all good, trying something new, new songs & new sounds, but the old songs and sounds were and are still GOLD!!!! Please keep the old moving along with the new.
Charity's harmonies on these songs in their raw form are just beautiful.
I miss Josiah so much! I just saw them in Memphis, but without the full crew "Honey Come Home," and "Fire/Fear" just can't be done.
Firehouse Cards it’s just not the same. They are still great and put on a good show....but something is missing

still coming back to this 8 years later ❤❤❤

Ever Since is such a cool song, great groove, great lyrics, great harmonies.

Tiny desk concert
They are churning out some Mamas & Papas-level harmonies right there! Blown away.

These guys toured with The Decemberists a few years ago and they sounded great--saw them at Interlochen MI. Ty KEXP.
I was at that show too. went home and bought The Head and The Hearts album right after. Crowd is so stuffy at Interlochen sadly.
Just saw them at the Midland in KC . . . . . just awesome. A great show, and each song resonates . . . I will be a forever fan.
So addicted to this scene. Love The Head and The Heart and Garry Bean the most.
So touching. Tru love. Reminds me that you don't have to be in love to love a love story. You just have to love
Not sure how many more times i can listen to this, i've probably bumped the viewing up by a 1000 :)
Best version of honey come home by far
Gah!! It's just too damn good! Been listening to this video for years and years, and here I am again to hear those sweet sweet harmonies and chords. ^_^
Too damn good. Every song is individually exquisite and has its own feels. 2018 and I’m still living in their music.
This band is unbelievable...their sound never gets old, and only better with time. They're crazy good live...best of luck to them...I wish more people would find out about them and enjoy their raw, pure sound. Much love
thank you kexp for having this outstanding format.
You're totally right. I agree so much with you. That's why exists real music and fake music. I wish every voice could have the opportunity to prove their talent in sessions like KEXP.
KEXP never disappoints.
great chill music - I saw them while dehydrated at Coachella 2012 in 109 degree heat, and it was a great set
Miss Josiah so much. Much love brother!
So much love from a lonely italian's night. grandi :)
i cant describe how amazing this band is they are one of the greatest bands ever and they make me so happy. cant wait for the album whoooooooo oct. 15
Can't het enough of this video! Amazing talent
Thank YOU! What a sweetheart.
Beautiful. soulful music. It makes you want to find somebody to love.
I'm so damn in love with this band!
This is an awesome session. It has been a regular play since 2012 when I first heard it. Great job guys, I hope you're still making great music!
WHAT!? She has seen them countless times, I couldn't be more jealous, I don't know if I'll ever get the chance to see them here in Germany..
LochnesKaramba come to Seattle! it's lovely here.
i wish more and more people thought like you did, Ben...
So much better than can be captured on a studio release!
Thank You for Posting, if you don't know this Band or anything about them and their harmony, you got some catching up to do. Great LIVE too!
KEXP thank you for promoting great music. I'm forever an interested fan.
these guys need to make a new album. its not fair to tease us with songs like this. its not fair!
Thanks a lot.
THANK YOU KEXP!!
Love these guys acoustic.
Really, REALLY very nice indeed.
Great harmonies.....well done.
The Lumineers are amazing...they are exceptional live. That was an awesome show..
great songs great performance great band
your sound guy is great. super crispy mics.
Always on kexp
LOVE!!!!
Love the untitled song just with the trio...I imagine it'll sound even more amazing with the rest of the guys! Here's hoping it will be on the next cd.
They have fans in Great Britain never mind just within the US! And deservedly so :)
That was simply amazing...all their new stuff sounds so good
I wish they'd go back to the folksy harmony type stuff after hearing Signs of Light. Still good, but the folk and folk rock in their self titled and Let's be Still was way better.
For me just these three acoustic is them at their very best. Some of the recent band stuff is pretty average.
A fantastic interview occurs up to this point.
Honey Come Home -- 00:54
Ever Since -- 05:00
Fear/Fire -- 15:36
Untitled-- 19:51
i love it so much it hurts
When the band had a little bit more of soul. I miss these peak days! Everything would always come together. Beautiful sounds and lyrics! HnH
i love you guys
the last song was awesome
It's raw & real. you can very easily connect to such kind of productions. It also becomes a lot more poignant.
i literally never comment, but holy shit balls, this text box cant describe how good that was. Stoked for folk fest edmonton!
They make it look so easy.
What a freak!! l felt like my soul was uplifted!! l gotta write a song right now
THANKS!
Their session stuff is amazing and so is their studio stuff. I would buy their ANY stuff over a nothing
honey come home, en esta version desenchufada, me parece unos de los mejores temas melodicos que escuche en mi vida.
i agree 100%. maybe it is time for album sessions to return to this format of 1 take-songs. there's some magic here that can't be re-created

one of my favorite band
great band !!!
now i really want vampire weekend and thath to tour together!
Yeah I agree, she is something else for sure !!!
Still listening in 2017.👌🏽
This makes my struggles with finals so much more bearable. :)
none of those bands are mediocre. Just because they're mainstream does not mean they're mediocre. Especially not Death Cab, Lumineers and Mumford.
My gosh I just love them. They sounds great as a trio, get all that percussion out of there. And I (like many other men on here) think Charity is just the coolest.
Listening to bands like this, I began to reminisce about growing up listening to Simon and Garfunkel and Fleetwood Mac.
Fleetwood mac ♥️
Wonderful!
Thanks!
I just fell in love with Charity Rose. She is beautiful. I'm waiting in Nashville...
Great song
Oh my goodness, that second song is beautiful, I wonder if they'll put it on their next album.
I couldn't agree more.
Man I wish I had the job of the host!! Get to listen to different amazing bands live everyday! Where exactly can I get a job like hers!
here in 2019 wishing that Josiah was still around.
LOVE
Homecoming Heroes
Also River City Extension and Barnaby Bright, but that list is great!
Come back Josiah!
I'm disappointed that Ever Since isn't on their new album
I still think this is the best way to see THATH, and this is an amazing performance. I dont mind the full band for many of the songs, but whoever produces their albums puts way to much focus on "production" and instrumentation, and not nearly enough on acoustics and their amazing voices!
fire/fear is so much better like this
Untitled turned into Another Story. :) I miss the old Head and Heart
new addiction
IT WAS ME!
Untitled is Homecoming Heroes.
The Lumineers, Mumford, Philips Philips, Some of the Civil Wars, Death Cab for Cutie, Old 97's, etc...
KEXP, live on KEXP, KEXP favourite.....is this KEXP?
Why isn’t Ever since on the album?? 😩😩😩
"Homecoming Hero's" I believe
I miss you Josiah 😔
Completely agree. You should listen to Garry Bean as well. So addicted to this scene right now.
Boom, New Album: October 15th.
