The new Child Safety guidelines have to be the most poorly implemented change on TH-cam in years. Pretty much everyone in the reaction community has been at risk of losing their channels this last year over this policy. It isn't realistic to hand out strikes over 4-5 year old videos without any notice to the creators that the videos are in violation of a rule that did not exist when the videos came out. It does nothing but discourage and instill fear in creators. The lack of communication over something with such severe potential consequences is just horrible

TH-cam and Googles policy in general of making and running everything as generic automated machines has always been grossly outdated and out of touch for the importance and scale of the platform. It's baffling they haven't setup a human element for channels with clean records and established presence, investing up new ways to enforce rules and make the barrier of entry tighter but not ways to benefit from those changes or establish innocent until guilty. Even the smallest of changes on the automated sense like a "Written 30 Day Notice" to either respond to or correct an assumed violation would go a long way, instead they've enabled a system that makes it so smaller younger channels can be hit without any recourse due to lack of social media viral potential nor having partner agents, and the largest channels that pull view numbers on par with Marvel movies can be eliminated and have their entire 10 year history purged within a day of report abuse. Essentially, one of the biggest and most important platforms and form of internet infrastructure out there has customer service that's worse and harder to reach than your average Cable company lol. It shows their kind of nature and how they view their (highly profitable) cogs that can be replaced by the next hot product.

i had the exact same community strike on the exact same kind of video recently (try not to laugh). any clip that shows kids doing dangerous stuff EVEN IF IT'S A SKIT puts you at risk.

About a week back, one of my videos got striked for "Sex and Nudity" when there was NOTHING even REMOTELY of the sort in the video. And similarly to you, I had to reach out for my playbutton, after I waited MONTHS for them to reach out to ME. It's such a shame the way creators are treated, and it really disheartens and disgusts me to see you Cory, a KING on the platform, being treated like this. There needs to be change NOW.

I came back to this video because of The Act Man incident. Cory was right about it. We’re living in the age of fragility having control over everything. Because some people work in positions that has influence over a platform all it takes is one miserable employee to not like something and that content creator is flagged. The community guideline strikes are crazy dude. I literally uploaded a video unlisted, titled the video COPYRIGHT TEST (to check the audio) and I got a guidelines strike because it was considered dangerous and harmful. The video was 7 seconds long and consisted of a kid standing on a tire balancing on the side of a road. youtube denied it and said there is nothing they can do even though I had no intention to actually make it public. For the record, nothing bad even happened and there are videos 100x worse on TH-cam. Sorry to hear about that, theres obviously a bug flaw with the system but I feel they never do anything about it until it gets the attention of the public 😞
They really do need to add timestamps to where the issue is located within the video, I had a copyright strike a long time ago and I had to try very very hard for the support team to hint to me that the issue wasn't the video but a link in the description, hopefully it will get better with time and they fix their issues
This has been an ongoing issue for so many years with TH-cam and although it's absolute bs this happened to you, hopefully you using your platform to bring this issue to your community's attention will force change. As you said, smaller channels (like mine) won't be able to do anything if this happens. They'll just be gone and no one will know. They already have, my friend, they already have. Unless you have enough subscribers to actually do something about their horrendous behavior, they don't care about you. This is how people exploit the site as well, because they somehow put favoritism into their bots, or whatever they did. People make or bot channels and upload insanely potentially popular videos, and unless they actually make a large problem or enough fuss is kicked up about it, they don't care. I haven't tried it myself, but you could likely just look up the word "naked" and find nudity, WITH NO PROBLEM, because people haven't complained about it that much. Just a reminder, nudity is an immediate strike, and is insanely heavily frowned upon, but TH-cam didn't and never has cracked down on that because it hasn't caused much fuss from people or caused any direct harm to their pockets. Oh, I know this one for a fact: nude yoga is fully permitted and you can search it right now, you'll find it; it's not taken down because it's "educational," and that's the only reason, despite the penalties for nudity being insanely severe, as in : if you show nudity on your channel three times within six months your channel will be permanently deleted" severe, and yet even still that just being "educational" is enough to make TH-cam completely forget that, and only when a fairly large group of popular people complained about it was it even acknowledged. Even still, the only reason it hasn't been taken down is because no one complained about it that was popular enough, not enough people in the community complained about it, and it was forgotten about pretty quickly. This goes for a ton of other things as well! You, on TH-cam, can just search what you want to see, reword it if you don't get it the first time, and see it, no matter what it is, unless enough fuss has been made about it.

The exact same thing happens when a video gets demonetised out of the blue. I cannot tell you the amount of times I have had an entire video demonetised and TH-cam has never told me what part of the video it was that got it demonetised. Had there been better communication, I would have happily removed it. Communication NEEDS to be better.

TH-cam and Googles policy in general of making and running everything as generic automated machines has always been grossly outdated and out of touch for the importance and scale of the platform. It's baffling they haven't setup a human element for channels with clean records and established presence, investing up new ways to enforce rules and make the barrier of entry tighter but not ways to benefit from those changes or establish innocent until guilty. Even the smallest of changes on the automated sense like a "Written 30 Day Notice" to either respond to or correct an assumed violation would go a long way, instead they've enabled a system that makes it so smaller younger channels can be hit without any recourse due to lack of social media viral potential nor having partner agents, and the largest channels that pull view numbers on par with Marvel movies can be eliminated and have their entire 10 year history purged within a day of report abuse.
Essentially, one of the biggest and most important platforms and form of internet infrastructure out there has customer service that's worse and harder to reach than your average Cable company lol. It shows their kind of nature and how they view their (highly profitable) cogs that can be replaced by the next hot product.

This has been a problem for everyone on youtube. They implement so many guidelines that aren’t needed and it only makes the platform worse than it already is. Cory is literally one of the greatest and most positive person on this platform and he would never do anything to harm someone. TH-cam adds so many unnecessary add pms to its platform, like TH-cam Shorts, Songs From Shorts, etc. No one asked nor cares for short videos and the moderation on youtube is disgusting. They’re giving out strikes to the most harmless stuff when there’s legit 18+ content hidden all across youtube and they aren’t doing anything about it. I really hope that youtube hires people that ACTUALLY know how to moderate videos and can determine what is good or not in videos. Glad to see that you’re doing better Cory! You hit the nail right on the head, there DEFINITELY needs to be a change in communication. About a week back, one of my videos got striked for "Sex and Nudity" when there was NOTHING even REMOTELY of the sort in the video. And similarly to you, I had to reach out for my playbutton, after I waited MONTHS for them to reach out to ME. It's such a shame the way creators are treated, and it really disheartens and disgusts me to see you Cory, a KING on the platform, being treated like this. There needs to be change NOW.

I came back to this video because of The Act Man incident. Cory was right about it. Any creators no matter what, with 100k, to 1M to 10M subscribers can in fact get a strike / or get their whole channel demonetized WITH no communication whatsoever
My god, we're truly and still literally living in The Dark Age of TH-cam
and youtube blindly ignores harmful content but takes down videos that don't have problems. To be honest, as cory said that it could have been targeted.
We’re living in the age of fragility having control over everything. Because some people work in positions that has influence over a platform all it takes is one miserable employee to not like something and that content creator is flagged. I hate that bug tech has surrendered to the government as well. Now any and everybody can toy with someone’s livelihood simply because they don’t like something someone or struggle to scroll past the video. And like stated before they keep everything else that’s inappropriate which leads me to believe these are individuals who work for TH-cam flagging people and not the overall platform

Content creators are lolcows at this point. None of them seem to realize that youtube controls the video platform market, which means they have them by the balls.
In a similar vein to internet service providers, once they gain a monopoly(Which they have), they can do whatever they want, because they have nowhere else to go.

The community guideline strikes are crazy dude. I literally uploaded a video unlisted, titled the video COPYRIGHT TEST (to check the audio) and I got a guidelines strike because it was considered dangerous and harmful. The video was 7 seconds long and consisted of a kid standing on a tire balancing on the side of a road. youtube denied it and said there is nothing they can do even though I had no intention to actually make it public. For the record, nothing bad even happened and there are videos 100x worse on TH-cam. Sorry to hear about that, theres obviously a bug flaw with the system but I feel they never do anything about it until it gets the attention of the public 😞

They already have, my friend, they already have. Unless you have enough subscribers to actually do something about their horrendous behavior, they don't care about you. This is how people exploit the site as well, because they somehow put favoritism into their bots, or whatever they did. People make or bot channels and upload insanely potentially popular videos, and unless they actually make a large problem or enough fuss is kicked up about it, they don't care. I haven't tried it myself, but you could likely just look up the word "naked" and find nudity, WITH NO PROBLEM, because people haven't complained about it that much. Just a reminder, nudity is an immediate strike, and is insanely heavily frowned upon, but TH-cam didn't and never has cracked down on that because it hasn't caused much fuss from people or caused any direct harm to their pockets. Oh, I know this one for a fact: nude yoga is fully permitted and you can search it right now, you'll find it; it's not taken down because it's "educational," and that's the only reason, despite the penalties for nudity being insanely severe, as in : if you show nudity on your channel three times within six months your channel will be permanently deleted" severe, and yet even still that just being "educational" is enough to make TH-cam completely forget that, and only when a fairly large group of popular people complained about it was it even acknowledged. Even still, the only reason it hasn't been taken down is because no one complained about it that was popular enough, not enough people in the community complained about it, and it was forgotten about pretty quickly. This goes for a ton of other things as well! You, on TH-cam, can just search what you want to see, reword it if you don't get it the first time, and see it, no matter what it is, unless enough fuss has been made about it.
