All of the videos that I've seen of yours are great--beautifully shot, informative, and not too long. Thank you for making these videos available to us.
This is an incredible guide to exploring the Canadian Rockies! Thank you for sharing such detailed information and links to the top day hikes-it’s super helpful for planning a visit. The range of trails from Wilcox Pass to Kinney Lake ensures there’s something for everyone, whether they're looking for lakes, peaks, or unique geological features. Also, the additional resources for shuttles, car rentals, and gear are invaluable for making the trip as smooth as possible. Can’t wait to hit these trails and experience the stunning views myself! Thank you so much for sharing
Good list of hikes. I have done most of them multiple times (except Rawson Lake, have not hiked much in that area). Love hiking in the Rockies - picking a top 10 is a tough call. A big one you missed (in my opinion) is the Iceline in Yoho. It is definitely on my top 3.
Hiking Berg Lake in one day is definitely hard, but not impossible for some! It's an amazing experience for sure. According to other distance measurements, it's actually closer to 42 km apparently!
Thank you for your recommendations. 👍Could you tell me if its possible to walk to Lake O'hara and also to do the Hike "Opabin Plateau Circuit"? The returning bus from Lake O'hara have not to be booked right?
Yes you can walk both in 1 day! That's what we did as well. Do you have a reservation for the bus to get there for the day? We didn't so that added another 10km to the day. We were lucky to catch the bus back. Didn't have to book in advance but we do recommend waiting at the bus stop in time as many people were in line and so some of them couldn't get a spot on the way back. They had to walk another 10km to get back to the parking lot!
@@worldwildhearts Ok thank you for the reply. 🙏🙂 No we don't got a ticket for the bus, it feels more or less impossible. Yeah we still think about it, but over 30km is very risky, we have a lot of other hikes in the days before and after. But I think we will take the walk to check out the lake and go up to the main viewpoint of the Opabin Plateau Circuit. I think if we go against the clock it is quick to reach.
Did you make canmore your base for all of these hikes? Any suggestions for a traveller on a budget looking to do some of these hikes, where should I make my base?
We went to the Rockies on different occasions so it’s taken from several different trips. One year we did use Canmore as a base indeed for a summer and did a lot of hikes from there (mostly in Kananaskis, Banff & Yoho). Jasper area is quite far so that was more on our travels when we camped there. Travelling on a budget is possible if you’re staying in campsites and mostly cook!

Thanks for the very kind words! Appreciate it!! Canadian Rockies are awesome and of course there are many other gorgeous trails beyond our top 10!

Nice! Yeah Iceline trail is also a good one! We hiked that back in 2019. It was tough to pick just 10! 😅
I am looking forward to follow your suggestion
Well done! I enjoy how you mark the trails then jump into the hiking visuals. Very enjoyable!
Thanks! Glad you like that!

It’s a tough one for sure! We’ve seen people biking the first 7km to Kinney lake and park the bike, then continue hiking… makes it a bit more doable!

Canmore definitely makes for a fun base though! Banff is more expensive and touristic
Thanks for the reply!
