Great adventure and beautiful family. I've saw the ponies swimming from one island to another a couple times and have pictures of it. And that inlet has had me scared a couple times also! Safe travels!!!!

The currents in that inlet can suck you in or blow you out! Lol. The current on the back side of Shackleford banks have reminded me of rapids on a river.

Beaufort Inlet is wide and deep... but is no joke, especially at night. Glad you missed the buoy.

masonboro island has been the boat party spot for decades. only accessible by boat makes it even better. i live just south at carolina beach. come check out our boardwalk while youre nearby.
