I realize you did these last year, but I was wondering if you recall where you can find the stretchy velvet material?
Good morning, I use both stretch and non stretch. Stretch easier to work with. Any fabric store should carry some. After I finish my destash lots I will be creating a bauble with new lace I purchased. Let's see how it goes. 😉
Ebay! You can get budget stretch velvet in all colours, literally like £3 a metre and posted free, that's UK obviously, but eBay in your country should have it! The stretchy one drapes lovely and is perfect for these, not too thick like a historic gown or a settee type of thickness. It's more like a polyester t shirt fabric type of thickness. You can also get stretchy lycra or scuba fabric very cheap, if you want a smooth finish instead of velvety, bit like swimming costume type of fabric or gym pants. These also come in metallic finishes. You can use any stretchy fabrics, old and new, basic t shirts are great for a white base. Practise with a piece of old leggings or t shirt round a tennis ball or similar. Or even a couple of layers of those thicker winter tights (you may call them pantyhose), children's tights are often a lacey effect within the knit pattern, all these are great for when the clothes are no longer fit for wearing! 😘😘😘
