These recordings are from live Satsangs at Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi Centre in Melbourne, Australia. All the pointers during the Satsang are compiled by Dr Vidya Narasimhan.
Satsang is a Sanskrit term derived from two roots: sat meaning "true’" and sangha meaning community, company, or association. It can be translated as "associating with good people" or simply "being in the company of truth," and refers to the act of gathering with Sattvic-minded, uplifting beings, especially spiritual seekers.
Satsang is different from any course or lecture because the energy field in it allows for clarity, stillness, and expanded awareness to be experienced by those who seek it.
Whenever something increases your awareness of the Truth, it opens your Heart and quiets your mind.
Satsang is one of the most effective means of transcending your mind and staying in the egoless state which can be called enlightenment, liberation, freedom, moksha, nirvana or simply abiding in Self.
We call our Satsang lovingly as Bhagavan Satsang as they are all due to his grace, Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.
According to Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi Satsang means only Atma Sang(Association with Self). Those who are trying to be in Self can come in the company of realized beings/Sadhus/Saints/Sages and that is also Satsang. Those who come in the company of Jivanmuktas also become Jivanmuktas.
Bhagavan explained the importance of Satsang by quoting Tayumanuvar, Suta Samhita, and Kaivalya Navanitam.
Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi is widely thought of as one of the most outstanding Indian spiritual teachers of recent times. Having attained enlightenment at the age of 16, he was drawn to the holy mountain of Arunachala in southern India and remained there for the rest of his life. Arunachala mountain itself is considered to be self-manifested Lingam, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Just by looking at it with reverence liberation will happen.
Attracted by his stillness, quietness, and teachings, thousands sought his guidance on issues ranging from the nature of God to daily life.
The philosophy of Advaita or Non-Duality has become, along with Buddhism, one of the most popular spiritual paths being pursued by those interested in enlightenment today. During the past three decades, Advaita has become more widely recognized in the West through the ever-growing popularity of Ramana Maharshi. His point of view has for its aim Self-realization. The central path taught in this philosophy is the inquiry into the nature of Self, the content of the notional 'I-thought'. Carl Jung wrote of Ramana: “Sri Ramana is a true son of the Indian earth. He is genuine and, in addition to that, something quite phenomenal. In India, he is the whitest spot in a white space. What we find in the life and teachings of Sri Ramana is the purest of India; with its breath of world-liberated and liberating humanity, it is a chant of millenniums.”
    Om Peace Peace Peace.

" Shri Ramana Maharshi was one of the most significant people of this century. He was not a master; that’s why people don’t know him as they know George Gurdjieff or J. Krishnamurti. They don’t even know him as they know Sri Aurobindo or P. D. Ouspensky who were only teachers - profound teachers, but not mystics.
“Ramana Maharshi was a silent pool of energy. Every morning he used to sit for a silent satsang, communion. He never talked much, unless asked something. Then too his answer was very short - having profundity, but you had to look for it. There was no explanation in it. His literature is confined to two, three small booklets.
“His teaching was mostly to be in silent communion with the disciples. Naturally, very few people were benefited by him. But every morning he was sitting, people were sitting, and a cow would come and stand outside, putting her neck through the window, and she would remain standing there while the satsang lasted. It must have continued for years.
People came and went, new people came, but the cow remained constant, coming at the exact time, never late.
“As the satsang would disperse she would move away.
“One day she did not appear, and Shri Ramana said, “Today satsang cannot be held, because my real audience is absent. I am afraid either the cow is very sick or she has died, and I have to go and look for her.” He lived on a mountain in the south of India, Arunachal. The cow belonged to a poor woodcutter who lived near the ashram. Ramana left the temple where they used to meet, went to the woodcutter and asked, ‘What happened? The cow has not come today for satsang.’
“The woodcutter said, “She is very sick and I am afraid she is dying, but she goes on looking out of the door, as if she is waiting for someone. Perhaps she is waiting for you, to see you for the last time. Perhaps that is why she is hanging around a little longer.”
“Ramana went in and there were tears in the eyes of the cow. And she died happily, putting her head in the lap of Ramana Maharshi. This happened just in this century. Ramana declared her enlightened, and told his people that a beautiful memorial should be made for her.
It is very rare for human beings to be enlightened; it is almost impossibly rare for animals to become enlightened, but the cow attained.
“She will not be born again. From the body of a cow she has bypassed the whole world of humanity, and she has jumped ahead and joined with the buddhas. So once in a while - there are a few instances only - it has happened. But that cannot be called the rule; it is just the exception."

It’s a good metaphor too bc she stayed constant in her quest to learn so eventually at the end she found that which she was seeking

My sadh guru Ramanadas, can i have a photograph of your "Form". I am convinced experientially that you are enjoying the bliss of Bhagavan's presence within you as that pure awareness within which is present 24 by7 in your " Heart " Center. Bhagavan uses to say that Heart is the name of pure self remaining totally disentangled from all identifications with forms--gross Or subtle. The primary purpose of human birth is to realise one's true self with in. My🙏🙏🙏to you. May your divine Service to the ignorant human race continue. 🕉santihi.

🙏🙏 Pranam Sir. Thank you so much for leading us into the depths of Silence.
You said that abide in Silence, no matter what. Absolutely true, but you also said " Even if you are in conflict, argue in Silence". How is that possible? If one abides in Silence , then one can't argue!
Is that what you mean? Kindly explain.
    🙏🙏🙏 Jai Shree Ram 🙏

It's a little misleading when you say ' the one watching the ego'. If there is a watcher why is it watching the ego? In my opinion the ego is watching itself until it realises that there is no ego. Then there is just watching.

If the Ego watches itself until there is no more ego then what is left? If ego can disappear then it is not a permanent entity unlike the one who is Watching the ego.

The ego can't watch - the watching is from awareness/Self. That awareness watches and whilst the impressions are dense it will be watching through the distorted lens of those impressions, so appears to be caught up in it - giving the false idea that it is the ego that is watching.
