OMGoshhhhhh, Bryan & Amy that's wild to just have that much metal fatigue that your back hoe breaks off like that. So glad you didn't get hurt from stored energy like in a hydrolic line or mid scoop with the excavator bucket. Hope you'll get it fixed soon enough to get back to work on the green house and finish what ya need to before the snow begins falling.
Pretty common for this unit. it's a structural "stress riser", its a matter of time and use, not a sign of abuse. These sub frames need fish plates welded to the sides of the sub frame tubes. the newer sub frames sold with these machines have had a design change to address this. The kioti forums have lots of info from users on designs of their fixes. I recommend a longer fish plate running the height of the double horizontal tubes near the backhoe, about 16" back from the break, and then taper forward, narrowing to the height of the single height of the tube steel about 24" forward of the break.
Looks clean, out in the open, tis weldable. Buy some plate steel to weld over the fix and should be better than new. My old Century Buzz Box AC230 could do a fine weld with little effort.
👍 Just break out the welder, repair and add strengthening plates or it will just happen again as will a replacement. Just curious, why no waterproofing on that Styrofoam? I thought that was required below ground level. Good luck with the backhoe situation.
Welding is one option, if we can even bend the frame back into position, that's the trick there. The county said no water proofing needed as it's not a residential building.
That is the only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger on a Kioti tractor. Don’t know why they don’t go with a heavy plate subframe like Kubota. Great machine otherwise.
@@ColoradoMountainLiving I would IF I were not half way across the country and half crippled up. Lower the feet on the back hoe to lift the broken arms back up to close break and weld it up and add reinforcing to top and sides of broken mount made repairs like that many times in my younger years !!! Or you can just go spend the money and see IF you can find a replacement part, which if not changed will most likely break again. why it is important to keep the attachments feet down when using to support the weight.
Go back to the tractor dealer and ask if there is something they can do to help overcome the obvious shortcomings of the tractor and equipment. Woe is me with so much to do and no tractor to do it...(sob) (sob)
No way you just backed up and that happened? The Kioti backhoe is 1 of the strongest setups there is! It's not just a 3-point hitch setup its on a separate frame. I call bull! " I take it back just googled it and it is a flaw, said some dealers cover it somedon'tt? bad wields on that point led to failure!" good luck!
Lots of good progress guys. Things break, they get fixed, and you keep going. I like your resilience.
Yes! Thank you! That's the plan

Thanks. Yup, we have a lot to do before winter (in 6 weeks )LOL

Interesting to hear that- we were shown the replacements and they are constructed much differently; will show you in the next video
Great progress, like the comments you could take it off, reinforce it and weld it back - all is well….
thanks. welding is an option, but there may be a faster one- see in next video
Wow about the tractor
super bummer
Bryan we meant drive it hard and put it away wet, not put it away broken! lol. Great job guys $heet happens! Thanks for Sharing...
You got that right! hahhaha
Hang in there Kid's......just a little bump in the progress road.
Thanks!
That sucks , are you going to be pressed to get this built by winter
Winter is coming fast, there is snow in the forecast this weekend.

No welder and some flat stock?
We have a welder, but the issue is bending it back into place- near impossible
looks like a call to your friendly weilding company to get it wielded with some braces. They should be able to come out and get that done.
ha- yup we do know one or 2 around here
As an operator for 50 years I find this very amusing I only wish you used the right equipment for the job
oh well, live and learn

They've actually have changed the subframe and beefed it up since our model.
Looks like you need to take time and use finesse running the skid steer...pretty erratic
yeah i'm sure it takes time to become a pro. Bryan has over 800 hours of use on the tractor- skid steer, less than 20.
For Sale: one gently used kioti!
hahhahaha
A good welder will fix it right up..
Thanks!
It's a known flaw in design . Check and see if they would waranty it you never know.
apparently the new frames are beefed up in the 'weak spot' so, yeah. Given our machine is over 8 years old, i'm not sure the warranty still holds..
Ooooops
yikes! i know!!
Well... time to weld the piece of junk up and reinforce it and get back to work.
can you come over and help us bend it back into position ? lol!

haha, yes, the first thing Bryan did was call the deal and he had a good solution for us, you'll see in the next video.
I have the same tractor and am not impressed. No way that should have happened.
What year? does your backhoe frame look like the same design?

Thanks for the encouragement
This video won't help sales.
probably not on this model
