    Hey Jake! Thanks so much for all your info and reviews! I have an odd question. What is the TV monitor stand brand you are using in this video at this Venue to hold up the TV?

    I actually want to find out, are powered speakers the way to go? They look simple enough as they only need an XLR out (I think) from the board.
    These speakers are something I should look at, especially with churches that have a small budget, and usually buy cheap. Buy this and it lasts generations.

    I’m interested in why you’re not running subs on an Aux send. Is this your personal preference ?

    • @soundfreak8892
      @soundfreak8892 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because you don't need to in this situation. Its very basic you can take the output of the subs and go into the tops. There is no need for aux fed subs

    • @josiahblanton8291
      @josiahblanton8291 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      SoundFreak88 but for more control of your mix you’d want Aux fed subs. little instrumentation could greatly be enhanced with the keys/pads, having their lower frequencies being fed into the subs alone that will provide a great foundation for the mix. otherwise you’re just having to use EQs everywhere to cut and shape the sound.

    • @soundfreak8892
      @soundfreak8892 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@josiahblanton8291 If you cant have good control without aux feed subs i think thats a you problem.... And actually ive seen people bypass a great processor because they want aux feed subs just for more control.. For example take a whole jbl srx passive system. You need to use the processor not aux feed subs.. Why? Well because simpily number one your subs will sound better because it has the presets for the subs and tops and also gives you the correct cuts automatically and time aligns everything for you. Aux feed subs or subs being fed by a matrix was made for emergencies or if you don't have a processor.. If you have smart yeah go ahead and run your speakers directly from the console but if your just running your subs for more control.. That ain't right. If you cant have good control without having a fader to control your subs that means your mix must be all over the place. Ive mixed many venues without aux fed subs i prefer it. The proccesor already balances everything for you. th-cam.com/video/qdDFrZt7vzs/w-d-xo.html

      SoundFreak88 I don’t know any professional engineer on the tours I’ve been a system tech for that at FOH wanted their subs being being fed from the mains. They want all the control at their fingertips. When talking with passive speaker systems, let’s use D&B for example, then yes, their presets in the amps are of course tailored to the specific speaker they’ve designed each preset for. So, the EQ past that point is fixing the room to sound better with your PA. If you’re having to make massive cuts and curves on your system then maybe it doesn’t sound great to begin with. Just my thoughts coming from a live sound engineer perspective.

    • @josiahblanton8291
      @josiahblanton8291 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not saying you can’t have great sound without aux fed subs, I’m just saying it’s less EQing and more of a sending the source frequencies to the destination you’re wanting them at.

      "Watts" is very irrelevant in Professional audio. They only tell you power information but not acoustical output information. Output is a function of power and efficiency. These boxes are 122dB continuous, 128dB peak. 1000W LF, 300W HF

    • @dougberry4674
      @dougberry4674 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Budget isn't the same thing as value. For the price, there's not much to beat these speakers' quality. They are outstanding value. So, for someone whose budget is this upper-midrange of speakers, this is a great option
      That doesn't mean that a cheaper speaker is "worse" value, but they serve totally different purposes for totally different objecties
