I had an interesting experience on Layton one night ago. I shot a blacktail buck level 4 who weighed about 87,5 kilos. I think the antler roll could have more impact than you think. So you have to figure out a way to isolate the weight variable by itself. I think The best way to test your theory would be to set up 2 moose grinds. On one grind only keep your level 2’s with the smallest racks, and on the other keep your level 2’s that have the slightly larger antlers with both on the smallest weights. And see which one produces great ones more. If you can eliminate antlers from impacting the spawn rate of great ones, then your theory on weights would be correct. @@jameshsi5505 the thing about antler rolls is that two animals, let’s say moose, who have the same antler but different levels, the higher level will weigh more. Way of the hunter also uses weight and culling male animals that have defective racksd and older females to helps grows the herd stronger. Cotw doesn't use elimination animals with bad racks but focuses on weight & males not female. I've been shooting small animals to keep the big ones around so offsprings are from the bigger animals but I don't think this works in cotw. I agree with your analysis that in cotw harvesting the larger animals the game will increase in difficulty by spawning larger animals that are smarter with spooking and weight. That's how the game progresses to challenge you. As far as G1, never seen one or got lucky. I have grinded for red deer but at this point, I find it more enjoyable to just play random then tent & tripod whole map. The whole beaver thing is annoying. I will use your advice and start going for larger animals and hope they respawn bigger ones.
Yes, when I won’t shoot any low level animals even outside of great one grinding. Like, if I’m out hunting Grizzly on Yukon Valley, I won’t shoot any Grizzly under level 5 for this very reason. The respawn has the best chance to be bigger if you leave the smaller ones on the map. For great ones though it’s just an additional to the current level difficulty system based on weight. So, the mechanic has to work similar since the underlying system is old and been around since 2017. Thanks for the comment! I own WOTH but haven’t gotten into it just yet! I’ll have to try!
Some of it must be weight related, i have a super fallow zone w 4 herds, and 8 level 2 stags. Took 3k kills to manage that zone. I shot 3 solos for my "hm". Since managing that zone down, diamonds started spawning like crazy. HM must have some effect on grinding for GO's.

What is the indication that your kill/harvest will influence your next spawn? I kill a 6 red deer, then I get a 4 for it. Then I kill the 4 and get a 9 diamond. Is it not that the game spawns completely random animals. Independetly of what was shot prior. And the higher the trophy rating the lesser the spwaning chance.
@@Inquisam there are still random factors in respawns. However, if only harvesting one animal and waiting the allotted time for a respawn is the only way to make this accurate. However, if you are shooting multiple males of the same animal they can swap zones. You could harvest a 6 in one zone and a 4 in another and their respawns swap. Making it seem like the 4 jumped to 9 and 6 went down to a 4. But in reality the 6 is what became the 9 and the 4 stayed a 4 but swapped.
Sounds logical. Somehow. Do all animals have an internal ID? Or is a 4 that spawns again in a different zone not actually a completely new animal? I really do not know it and would like to understand how people come up with the theory that individuals respawn again. Instead of a completely new random entity. The coding for random entities would be so much easier, with the same results. Therefore I am wondering, why so many people believe they can influence the respawns. Did the devs ever indicate something?
@@Inquisam the animal population file is set when you first enter a map. If there’s 100 bears and 60 are female and 40 are male, those numbers never (shouldn’t) change. I’m not sure if they have an ID, but it make sense. You shoot bear A, B and C they all go into respawn. Their locations on the map can swap or change when they respawn, since all bears are solo. When a herd animal gets harvested the herd is static and if one animal gets harvested from zone 1, 2 and 3 the a, b,c can switch the zones, but their respawn is based on the harvested animal, but the location of spawn may be different than the original animal. Unless you shoot 1 male from 1 herd zone, and nothing else, it will have no other choice but to respawn into the same herd as there is no other “open chairs” for them to spawn into. I hope that answers the question.

I started with a level 7 at 272-324 but made sure he was gone before killing the only tiger I would shoot. I've had over 80 diamonds with 4 max weight, 2 were trophy score 60 and 2 were 59.7. @@JBizHunts Yes, I left the the max weight and started shooting the rest. So I got my first a GO black bear from many unsuccessful attempts do it right. (Killed only max weight animals).
I been doing heard management and shooting down bad zones stacking rares and Dimonds i tend to hunt with a real life mind set so the bigger ones go 1st but i haven't actually focused on harvesting the heavy weights consistently so for 2 days now thats what i been doing realistically i only got maybe 3 or 4 hrs played in those 2 days and i got a lvl 2 melanistic whitetail buck gold after 30 kils im pushing 2000 kills
@@brandonstrickland1685 that is amazing! Did he make gold? And are you seeing heavier max weight bucks spawning more?
@JBizHunts yes he made gold I just got a gold albino not 2 mins ago I just started with the weight so I'm not really seeing a big difference just yet other than 2 rares but if it works as you say and you ain't ever guided me wrong with your videos so I can assume with a little more time and few more cycles I'll see a more noticeable difference
@@brandonstrickland1685 you are on fire! I only have a gold scoring piebald whitetail.. all my albinos and melas are silver
Yeah i did notice the racks always affected the weight of the g1s
@@aaronpoopoo9906 very perceptive to notice! None of the big content creators have ever mentioned it out of all the content I’ve watched!
@@cheesesniper473 that’s my point! The lower the level the lower the weight because weight makes levels. That’s awesome! Did you get your go?

@@jamesjennings8574 yeah! They can get monotonous! However, when I get my first one the feeling got me hooked! However, I’m a hybrid player and LOVE all rares and diamonds. Thanks for the subscribe!
Very interesting. Thanks a lot.

@@JBizHunts Yeah man, but more I'm thinking about it, you are right about the 1000 point system. Like why fallow is the easiest G1 to get!? Beside consec you used to have integrity and quick kill adding up to 1000, and as it is, you have plenty of guns holding integrity and instantly dropping a fallow... In a sense, using .300 to grind for deer might be the most counterproductive thing ever.

Tbh ive lost interest in playing this game since diamomds dont feel like an achievement to me anymore, but great omes are too far out of reach for me even with heavy HM my grinds are all taking over 4k kills. It would be OK for me to grind if diamonds actually got me excited, but they dont.
@@blitzhunts man!!! Either get tighter on your HM to ramp up the chance for a great one…. Or do what I did in April and press new game. You keep your lodge but get fresh maps and you just replay them, find new initial spawn rares and diamonds! It renewed my love for the game! I still have maps I haven’t played yet since I restarted
@JBizHunts that's not the issue- the issue is diamonds are no longer and achievement because they are too easy. I get one every 6-12 kills for whitetail so my HM is cracked but never spawns a great one like the content creators
@JBizHunts in fact I tried making content but I can't grow a channel without great ones let's be honest. So I give up
My advice is you don’t need great ones to grow a channel, and a channel should be about your interest and what you love! I have a fantastic career IRL and I make content because I enjoy it with no pressure!
@JBizHunts well, I was interested in hunting Great ones but they never spawn for me. And we'll show me ONE popular creator that doesn't grind and get dozens of Great ones il wait
I determined something similar while grinding Tigers before the update.
I managed to get a diamond every 10-20 kills by making sure all of my male tigers were lower weight estimates. 1 level 5 at 168-220. 2 level 6 at 220-272 and 4 level 7 at 220-272. I started with a level 7 at 272-324 but made sure he was gone before killing the only tiger I would shoot.
I've had over 80 diamonds with 4 max weight, 2 were trophy score 60 and 2 were 59.7. I also had a mythical 8 score over 57 but I shot him in the head unaware he could even make diamond.
@@hectech yes! This works for all species I do believe. But simply put, great ones are the highest weight, so makes sense why they would spawn quicker from a herd managed grind! I never bother to grind tigers, I got 2 diamonds and 2 rare’s so didn’t want to push it as I didn’t have space in my lodge.
@@JBizHunts nice thanks for all the info. I never used to "grind" anything before tigers. Before the latest map I would "herd manage" by only shooting higher level animals until I finally got a diamond.
@@hectech yeah, that’s how I got started in herd management was trying to get a diamond of every species. So on SRP I didn’t have any initial spawn diamond bison, so I started setting up and shooting all the big ones until a diamond showed up. Great video and interesting theory!
@@Mr.Biffen thank you! Much appreciated the comment! I’m happy the community so far has enjoyed the theories
this was such a waste of time everything you pointed out is just what Hm is. anybody who knows anything about RNG and call of the wild knows this already and I can also say its not always proven either. just last week i had G1 fallow spoon off of a level 2 that got into my main zone and he is the only buck there so i know he spawned off of it.
@@daltonclark4479 did you shoot any other males on that rotation? You do know males can swap zones. You could shoot a 2 in one zone and a 4 in another and the respawns can swap. It’s a trick used when grinding black bears on SRP to swap males and females and swap small males for large males. I appreciate the comment and the view though! Yes, everything I did point out is HM, the main thing that’s different is to focus on weight, when most players/grinders focus on trophy rating. I appreciate all the comments and criticisms! Happy hunting my friend.
@@JBizHunts he was the only 2 I shot on that rotation because my respawns were all gone besides him so I shot him main menu and came back and all my spawns were back and the G1 was in his place
@@daltonclark4479 sweet! That can happen because your herd is well managed I presume. If you watched the whole video I have a part about my theory on how respawns work and there is probably an unknown number that gets added to the respawn that can be smaller or bigger depending on the weight distribution of your herd. I did say at the end that it’s basically all RNG, but herd management does help by forcing the game to potential add more to a low level respawn. So, you basically proved it works! Awesome! Thank you
