This is John Deacon’s contribution to “Only Band in History Where Every Member Wrote a #1 Song.” He threw that bass line down in a rehearsal and they were like hot damn, quick Freddie write some lyrics!
the Grammy article said all had a NO 1 at the award they said top hits I think Brian and Roger had a No 1 in other territories which is still a big deal normally in articles .. they only look at UK or US if it's a No 1 This was NO 7 UK No 1 US their highest selling physical single in the US I'm surprised it hasn't qualified for diamond award
John Deacon (bass player) played guitar on the studio version & Brian (guitar player) has said he gets frustrated every time they play it in concert because he can't get the guitar sound quite right. He said it's a combination of how John strums & the settings of the guitar John used. Since you're doing studio 1st, check out Don't Stop Me Now. Scientifically proven to be the "happiest song written".
You need to see them perform live on Live Aid 1985 to see true showmanship with a 20 min set . They stole the whole show and Freddie just had the crowd eating out his hands .
Queen & Freddie Mercury are among the gods of Rock n' Roll!!! Queen are gods!!! And Freddie is a god!!! And after 40 years still selling albums on the Billboard charts....in the top 30!!! Definitely you need to go down this Rabbit Hole!!! Great Reactions from you Zay!!! Love your reactions!!!!
Perfect decision to listen prior to watching live. It's the Freddie Mercury show when live. Recording was before video so artists had to grab audience via radio. Queen is the sound.
especially with this song! desppite Freddie and MJ! wanting it released the other two still didn't think it should be it was played constantly on Black Radio stations in Brians words they felt forced to release it! really not their style at all! it's their highest physical sales single! one of their top most downloaded and still known to people thankfully Freddie believed in it and supported him
OK who is gonna break the news to him about We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions will be instantly recognized when he hears them --- growing up it always cracked me up that the biggest meathead jocks loved Queen and didnt realize it
Another excellent song by the GOAT of rock n roll. I love hearing Freddie’s breath and ad lib stuff. A true master. I think it was in Iron Man 2 and a Fast/Furious movie. Great reaction to a great band!
Would recommend you check out the studio versions of Queen's We Will Rock You and then We Are The Champions. They are two anthems you have probably heard people sing to at sports games, but deserve to be heard with headphones 🎧 :)
Great reaction Zay! I'd suggest checking out Under Pressure, it's a collaboration with Queen and David Bowie. Incredible and a great intro to Bowie as well.
MJ was a fan of Freddie & loved this song. So he encouraged Queen to release it as a single. He said it was going to be a big hit! 😁☝️ *First verse - Valentines Massacre, machine gun bullets rip *Second verse - Another lover gone or getting dumped *Third verse - Many ways to hurt a man, but he’s still standing
Nice reaction! Queen is the unique classic rock band that has as many bangers and universal rock anthems that are familiar to and resonate with modern audiences ( regardless whether they know the band by name), eg Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Stop Me Now,, We will rock you, We are the champions, Another One Bites the Dust, Undet Pressure, Show MustvGo On, etc.
Cool that you're listening through some decent cans Zay (Corsair?) So many reactors use crappy little ear buds. Enjoying your vids brother, keep it up!
That's right, Zay! Bob your head to that bangin' bass! 🤘...Another One Bites The Dust is another 🔥track from Queen! I even enjoyed watching Bohemian Rhapsody movie when they show how this song came together. 😉
Brian and Roger didn't want this Freddie beleived it would be big and told them to trust him Freddie supported John a lot I don't understand the film implying Freddie was dismissive of John.
Absolutely amazing if you liked the bass on Another one bites the dust, check out Queen live at Wembley Stadium 1986 with a song called Under Pressure will blow your mind with the band’s performance and Freddie’s vocals, I actually attended this concert, great reaction thanks 🙏
Always Love your energy! Growing up we always said “Another 1 bites the dust” when someone got married lol 😂!! Idk if I missed your last live? I know u were gonna show what I sent you…Sorry maybe in the next Live. My notifications never tell me. Hope all is well See ya soon!✌🏻☀️
Hi Zay! I was looking at your playlists and seeing that you like Yes snd Rush? Might I suggest the band Genesis as another prog rock great. The song Firth of Fifth is wonderful.
Was actually MJ who told them to release this as a single when backstage when he saw them do this live n so they did!! 😉 they actually collaborated together when queen was in LA but Queen never released the tracks!!! Shame!!!😔
It's true that when Michael Jackson first heard the song, he started bopping to the beat and said something like "Yeah that's the sauce!" And encourage the band to release it as a single. Iirc, however his reaction and remark were made in response to listening to the recorded album that the band had played for him. Another interesting fact is that right around this era when Freddie was at his home in London, he like listening to Quincy Jones' album The Dude. I don't think it's unreasonable to hypothesize that the album would have served as a conscious or unconscious musical influence on Freddie ( perhaps reflected in his song Cool Cat), who in turn served as a part influence influence for Michael Jackson when he recorded Thriller--the greatest selling album of all time-- which was of course famously produced by Quincy Jones!
yes MJ said they must release it and Freddie was being diplomatic when he said this then so we did Brian and Roger has admitted despite them wanting to release it they still didn't think it should be a single. black radio station constantly played it and Brian said they felt forced into it it's their highest selling single in the US! they were very happy when the album sold a lot more!
Oh my darling you haven’t even scratched the surface, Queen is amazing, none of their songs sound the same. Freddie is considered the greatest frontman in rock history. I’m sure your next adventure will be Queen at live aid in 1985, where Freddie alone stole the show. They are considered the best live band, just wait to have your mind blown. There live concerts are just fantastic.
Fun Facts: John Deacon is said to have wrote this about the St. Valentine's Day Massacre 1929. Also the lyrics "another one bite's the dust" when played backwards sounds like "it's fun to smoke Marijuana"
Roger did not like this song and hated that John wanted to dampen down the drum sound but he did it and a drum loop John played bass and guitar on this. Brian did effects through a harmoniser
The bass player John Deacon wrote this song. It is one of the most recognizable bass lines in music, and one of the best

@@bluebell3720 technically they all co-wrote under pressure with Bowie, but they all have a song that has gone to number one in at least one country.
This was one of their biggest hits, it's been in tons of movies. The bass player wrote it!
40+ years and this is STILL a banger!
Queen earned their props long ago. Legendary!
John only did about 12 songs all together but a few of them are still well known
Freddie Mercury, the best vocalist and frontman of all time.
GOAT!!!!

Oh you’ll love DRAGON ATTACK by Queen!
Yes, do the studio version first!! But live??
Perfect decision to listen prior to watching live. It's the Freddie Mercury show when live. Recording was before video so artists had to grab audience via radio. Queen is the sound.

Love Queen, great reaction with good energy. If you wanna get hyped, please do 'Don't stop me now' if you haven't already.
OK who is gonna break the news to him about We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions will be instantly recognized when he hears them --- growing up it always cracked me up that the biggest meathead jocks loved Queen and didnt realize it
I was waiting for you to recognize this. It has been played all over the place. Freddie is just amazing.
Doing the studio versions first is smart 😉 Check out “I Want It All” next!!
Another excellent song by the GOAT of rock n roll. I love hearing Freddie’s breath and ad lib stuff. A true master. I think it was in Iron Man 2 and a Fast/Furious movie. Great reaction to a great band!
Definitely need more Queen 👑on the channel 🤘🏽😉🤘🏽
Dude, is this not one of the sickest riffs of all time?? Glad you gave this a listen!
Oooo....one of the most famous bass lines in rock and roll.
I totally agree, studio versions first, then live..a good rule to live by
0:33 Yes, THANK YOU for this
Pure 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
Its great you have discovered another great British Rock Band.
Not many had a stage presence like Freddie Mercury's Queen album News of the World was the first album I bought with my own money as a teenager
Would recommend you check out the studio versions of Queen's We Will Rock You and then We Are The Champions. They are two anthems you have probably heard people sing to at sports games, but deserve to be heard with headphones 🎧 :)

Next Queen: Fat Bottomed Girls, Don’t Stop Me Now, and Somebody to Love!
After you’ve gotten deep into Queen you must watch the movie Bohemian Rhapsody.
The anthem of my teenage years!! Not to mention what we all sang at football games or any game we would win!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
John came up with this riff one day…the band went to eat & when they came back he couldn’t remember it! Luckily Roger (drummer) remembered it. 🎶🔥🎶
That was underpressure!
Oops! Getting old 🤣
Nice reaction!

This song was huge when I was in high school in 1980… you gotta listen to Bohemian Rhapsody.. RIP Freddy
Cool that you're listening through some decent cans Zay (Corsair?) So many reactors use crappy little ear buds. Enjoying your vids brother, keep it up!
Going to see these bands live was an experience I’m glad to have. You have yet to even scratch the surface my friend
That's right, Zay! Bob your head to that bangin' bass! 🤘...Another One Bites The Dust is another 🔥track from Queen! I even enjoyed watching Bohemian Rhapsody movie when they show how this song came together. 😉

they were very happy when the album sold a lot more!
My fiance's friends played this song for him on the jukebox at Pizza Hut when we got engaged in 1980. 😂
Oh, 1980 this was the Detroit Lions theme song. Fans loved it

From this same album I highly recommend the song "Dragon Attack' *studio* version.
you should hear it live as well
That’s funny you weren’t ready for it to end laughing my ass off here at U
Fun Facts: John Deacon is said to have wrote this about the St. Valentine's Day Massacre 1929.
Also the lyrics "another one bite's the dust" when played backwards sounds like "it's fun to smoke Marijuana"
40 years of movies and commercials
Forgot to say aswell lol freddie and mj did do a song together with mick jagger called state of shock check it out!!🔥🔥😉
If you play this song backwards, wherever it says "another one bites the dust" it sounds very much like "it's fun to smoke marijuana."
Roger did not like this song and hated that John wanted to dampen down the drum sound but he did it and a drum loop
John played bass and guitar on this. Brian did effects through a harmoniser
Another song that has a great beat that I think you might like is Dragon Attack in Montreal.
Dragon Attack...check it😉🔥
Why is this video not in stereo?
Good time. For the algorithm.
Yo bro monster hit!!
For a very different sound from Queen….VERY funky…try Fat-Bottomed Girls 😁
Dragon Attack
Brian May is an amazing guitar player, but there's no solo in this song.. and when he does solos he always leaves you wanting more.
John played guitar on this
And Brian made effects through a harmoniser
Dragon attack live!!! Sensational 🇬🇧🌻🇬🇧🌻
Not there best but funny.
