    Some amount of work there ! Superb videos . I’m following your lead with my ‘05 2.5 manual calling up the ABS/Anti-Skid. I’m bracing for DEM / pump service, bevel gear sleeve kit etc . Thanks for your videos .

      Most ABS problems are either the sensor or the pickup rings. I've done both of these jobs. Both are realtively easy and cheap to fix. Any fault codes should point you in the right direction. My anti-skid problem was the DEM module. These can be repaired or replaced with a reconditioned module. Volvo Diagnostic in the UK or Xemodex in Canada offer such a repair service.

      @@Parknest Have a sandwich and a coffee on me. If you get a chance have a look at my DTC list . Seems I'm going to have to do similar jobs . The CCM sensor also came up as no signal.

    Great job again! Good thing that hunk of metal didn't drop on your head.

      It was no lightweight but it wasn't too heavy either.

    I managed to drop my 2011 D5 bevel gear straight down without bending the bracket or removing the oil cooler. It is so much easier with the turbo outlet pipe removed (which is a bit of a pain since you need to lift the front of the engine to do this).

    • @Parknest
      @Parknest  ปีที่แล้ว

      I managed to get past the oil cooler if you're careful. There is one section of turbo pipe that has to be removed to get to the bolts.

    Tell you what mate you have some patients and determination well done i wish i still had my XC90 but i pxd it for an 09 galaxy nearly a year ago the gal is good but i do miss the solid safe feel of my old 90 and being able to fix most things 😪

    • @Parknest
      @Parknest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had to get this sorted in time for the caravan's first outing and it had to be done one way or another. One of my neighbours commented that it now drives better than before.

      @@Parknest I was lucky with my previous XC90s that my bevel gears were ok i did think about servicing the haldex system but was always other jobs to do 😄

    • @Parknest
      @Parknest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're genearlly bullet proof. Even the dealer said so when I enquired about the price of a brand new one. The Haldex units don't need their oil changing according to Volvo. I had to get my DEM replaced last year to get the Haldex working for the first time in my ownership.

      @@Parknest Every XC90 i have bought i can guarantee one or all the engine mounts had failed it's something i had budget for! I think they are easily overlooked and the driver just gets used to the vibration after a while so are unaware they have in fact failed!

  • @gotredeemed

    Bound and determined! At least it was dry under the car. You might have been right to pull that cooler. The install must've been a bear. Good show.

    • @Parknest
      @Parknest  ปีที่แล้ว

      It would've helped to remove the oil cooler but the sump was full. I'd changed the engine oil not long before I did this job. The top bolt was the worst. It is virtually impossible to get to.

    22:38 like a whooping noise while I was driving
    Do you have a video capturing that sound by any chance?

    • @Parknest
      @Parknest  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry, I don't have any footage of it. It was a year ago (the problem happened during last year's MoT) so the dashcam footage is long gone. It was a low pitched vibration that would come and go. It wasn't a constant sound and sounded like something a rubbing sound.
