Considering schools already typically explain how fossil fuels contribute to environmental problems in science classes, there isn't really any good reason not to have it in schools that I can see.
But if you want it in schools, you need to vote for parties that support plant-based diets, like the Green Party in the US.

My dear grandmother ate a plant based diet all her life. She lived to be nearly 101 years old. Her mind was sharp too. As was my grandfather's, who lived to his late 80's. I desperately miss them. I know I'll see them again someday. They were married for 67 or so years. My grandmother had 8 kids, 6 of them at home, totally naturally. They were very hard working and enjoyed church on Sundays. Nowadays they'd be labeled as organic farmers. I cherish my memories of them and can still see all the perfect, endless rows of food ready to be harvested. I was so blessed to have them 💓

Wow. This has really helped me move away from a nihilistic perspective that "it's all fucked, so who gives a shit what you do". This helps me to realize that I can play a part in the solution, rather than the problem and end up on the right side of history. I am fully committed to the vegan life now after never having thought I would do so prior. I watched "Dominion", then "The Game Changers" and now this. I have friends who are super athletes, performing feats that I never thought I would see with my own eyes (flips on highlines hundreds of feet in the air... perfect form handstands and trampoline flips... etc etc...) and they are vegan. I myself am an athlete, so it really helped to see people like them demonstrating such athletic ability whilst being vegan. I think now I know where they get their superpowers from. One day I just had this feeling while I was eating a plump chicken breast that rather than tasting delicious, I could taste the suffering of that sentient being who almost certainly suffered throughout their brief restrained unimaginably painful existence. I think that was a moment of "waking up".. a moment where I got a glimpse beyond the matrix that I've lived in for so much of my life. Thank you to all those other people who have tread upon this path before me and provided a roadmap for me to follow beyond a life of cynical overconsumption. Much love to you all. I look forward to telling others about this film and spreading awareness of this cause that is beyond vital in our current day.

You see, when you say "save" the earth, what you're really saying is save yourself, because the earth will be fine without humans. The earth will continue to repair itself once the nasty humans are extinct. It is not the earth that needs humans but that humans need the earth.

I quit eating animal products in 1987 when i was 17. Im 54 and im never sick....or overweight. Everyone around me is fat and sick. It is so unimaginable the sickness that is needless. Many doctors have cured every disease in hundreds of thousands of patients using a totally whole food diet of fruit and vegetables. When will a human being give up their blood lust? Apparently not even heart disease and cancer is enough to stop most people....of course the state of the planet is the last thing a glutton will be concerned about.

Yup...unless someone conquers the entire world and impose change at a global lvl. We need The Venus Project globaly. Money is the real culprit. Every bad thing happening in our world is for money. The biggest and only change we need to do is abolish money and make everything free. We have the resources for that. Make this change and all our current problems will go away.
If we want other results in our world then we have today, we need to change the way things work. And the base driver of that is money and the effect it has on our world(natural resources, biodiversity and human behavior)

It's because the modern medicine (a.k.a. allopathic medicine) make most people with longer lifespan but with more miserable years e.g. with life-long diabetes, cancers, hypertension, heart diseases, renal failure etc.
Human population keep increasing and stacking up because the dying rate has been so much slower back in the days getting medical treatment was treated as luxurious services but 20,000 - 30,000 years ago meat was like exclusively for the filthy rich one and the emperors' families and the kings' families, not everyone afford to buy a piece of meat.
Take ancient Chinese as example. Most ancient Chinese folks few thousand years ago only take few bits of the expensive precious meat and fish during the Chinese New Year and important events like the Cheng Beng, the Mid-Autumn/Lantern Festival, the Winter Soltice etc. The rest of the days were like exclusively plant-based unless those super rich business-based families or royal families. Even it is written on one of the most prestigious traditional Chinese medicine book by the ancient TCM practitioner that well-known to the people who believes in TCM community, eggs were once thought as an emergency medicine especially to severe starved patients to quickly nutrition them and bring them back to life from dying starvation.
Back in the really older days, even salt, sugar, oil were really scarce and were treated as luxurious items.
Few thousand years ago there were no antibiotic resistant, no microplastics, no fast fashion, even fabric was treated as luxurious items as well.
Now? Basically people eat eggs everyday, one person average eating the amount of meat like 300 times more the size of meat and milk than the ancient Chinese folks LOL
Seriously no problem with factory animal agricultural farming????

How does this have under half a million views and ONLY 1,600 likes?!? I watched this after swiping on youtube shorts, seeing videos of funny pet videos with 10+ million likes posted 2 days ago. Why are videos like these not being viewed by more people? The people who came together spent 4+ years to create this, meaning every 22 hours of filming they have received a single like on youtube. This is such a motivational and eye-opening film. I've grown up vegitarian my whole life from birth and over the years countless people have tried to get me to eat meat, I've even been bribed to eat KFC chicken from a friend who couldn't belive I was vegitarian.. I guarantee if ever took a girl to a vegan resturant on a first date 90% of them would leave or go try to go somewhere else. This information needs to be more widely avalible, so people know the risks and harm animal farming does to us and our planet.

This is an excellent film that I am sharing. I am sadly well aware of much of the information and matters covered. I have a book entitled Saving Mother Ocean in which I talk about the views of indigenous people, I talk about how if the ocean dies, so do we, I quote Sylvia Earle, and I met her at an Ocean Summit in Lisbon. I also mention how Tony Robbins became seriously ill from Mercury poisoning, so I was pleased to see him speaking out about this in the film. In my book I recommend changing to a plant-based or vegan diet as an action that anyone can take. I am vegan myself. I include Captain Paul Watson and Greta Thunberg as celebrity activists who walk their talk. Captain Paul endorsed my book.

I am vegan and I feel great!!! After doing some research, I learned I can get all of my macronutrients and micronutrients from plants! I eat lentils, beans, nuts, seeds, grains, soy, vegetables, fruit, etc. And once I learned how to cook and prepare these foods, I do not miss meat or dairy at all. I actually prefer plants now and it seemed odd to me that I ever ate meat or dairy! My suggestion to someone who is new to this is, do some research, get a vegan cookbook or find vegan TH-camrs who post free recipes, and start with just one or two plant-based meals a week. It gets easier over time; I promise! 💚🌱 You've got this! :)

This a stunning informative documentary, a thousand times thank you! In Italy we used to eat meat once a week or less until capitalism blow up in 1950. I personally knew people over 80 in really good health still growing vegetables with hand tools, their mind also is sharp. You can find this people in the montains or rural areas with small and "poor" villages. In big cities old people stay at home looking television, their souls are weak, their mind is foggy. If we can, we must go back in countryside, discovering again the ancient varieties of plants that used our granparents, saving forgotten seeds and restoring the ancient links with territory that extreme capitalism has broken. If you are interested search for "seed vicious" that is an italian association, but there are many others in almost every country of the world, go find your local seed exchange event, become a seed saver!

I buy freash milk from a farmer and sometimes make my own yogurt and cottage cheese, but that too maybe needs to be kicked. It’s just that I have a 9 year old son and I feed him meat sometimes(because I believe children should eat meat), and he loves yogurt and kefirs and I don’t know what to do. I don’t think children should be vegan. I will have to do more research. But let us bless this beautiful blue planet and make our oceans clean again!! Thank you again for making this. In fact, some people over react and take it as insulting even saying we are vegetarian or vegan not for religious reasons. Making people into 2 sides, or any offensive is not gonna to get things through. Have good recipes, let them try, and ask them to have little bit more replacing meat, little by little, if they can't sometimes, its ok. Then they would change after time. I tried this 1 year ago, now I have 80% of veggie, and I can be vegan anytime, without scarifies taste. It works. I wish this is helpful.

I love the flavour of meat as I was brought up within a "meat-eating culture". I am from Spain, 57 yrs and stopped eating meat like 3 yrs ago, when I started to watch and read documentaries and reports about climate change, etc. so I decided to stop eating meat for humanity and the survival of earth's planet, but also because of health and animal abusing and slaughtering. I just wish the non-meat-tech companies will grow and offer us alternatives that are very good in flavour and texture but do not harm our planet.

Even though I appreciate the message in this documentary, I feel like they underreport on the fact that many fruits and vegetables are also heavily sprayed with pesticides with similar potentially carcinogenic toxins. Adding to that, the blue zones are mentioned as predominantly plant-based, while stating this fact is true, the diet does contain quite some fish. Still, it's been hailed by the scientific community as the most healthy diet.
I would have loved to see them state that an average reduction globally of meat consumption is needed, but some areas are simply better suited for meat production. We should probably trade less food globally to reduce the carbon footprint of transportation and develop more local food cultures, instead of the industrial mass production we see today.

It maybe should have mentioned that some of these issues in farming are systemic to all types of farming. But even if human grown plant food is sprayed with pesticides as bad as the animal intended crops - we would still reduce the harm of that by at least 75% in a plant based food system. That is without even trying to adress the pesticie use directly.
Local meat is still way worse for the environment than even exotic plants from across the world, which tells you how bad animal agriculture is, environmentally. "Local" grazing animals dead body parts as food will always have emitted more GHG, taken more land and water, upped the chance of zoonosis, than any distantly grown plant food with its shipping ever could. The further up the food chain we eat, the worse, because that inevitably means more resources used, and more GHG and waste produced. It's a myth that eating local, grass fed animals is prefferable to a vegan diet, environmentally and healthwise.
And that isn't even mentioning the ethical disaster of intentionally breeding, manipulating and exploiting animals, which is an irrational, horrific thing in itself that only strict neccecity could hope to justify. As pointed out by countless philosophers for thousands of years. It's simply immoral to have a system of reducing defenceless others to means to our ends. If we can avoid it, it's unforgivable to abuse the power we have to steal, exploit and hurt others lives.

My blood is as good as never before and I am 44 years old. People think I look like 34-35. My kids are super healthy and good at school and doing lots of sports. Sometime I allow my kids hot docs or even burgers. But maybe is once in a quarter. My kids are understand that everything we do is a political choice and they choose well but after all they are kids and if they want a burger twice or three times a year they should eat it without feeling bad about it. There’s other thoughts about the problems we have and growing food may not be what we think it is. In the US, corn, wheat, and soybean are grown on many acres and those crops are sprayed for insects and that is not a good thing. Isn’t the monarch butterfly numbers way down? I think somewhere, maybe Mexico, they’ve been put on the endangered species list. It can be googled to find out. Most people eat meat and I’m one of them. I don’t like the way big animal farms are run but if done right pasture land can be good habitat for birds and insects. We need pollinators! And I know you would like to protect our birds too. I do. A very educative piece... Indeed, we have been most bothered about the wrong elements of climate change, when the elephant in the room was animal agriculture. I really want to move over to a vegetarian diet, but it is quite difficult to do this in Nigeria where I was born and still reside. The overwhelming majority of our dishes often incorporate meat, fish, eggs or dairy products. Hopefully, my dream of becoming a vegetarian would be fulfilled when I emigrate to Canada.

    • @tammyd.970
      @tammyd.970 ปีที่แล้ว +19

It's a great goal, Ehis! A good approach, though, is to not see it as all or nothing. You don't need to move to Canada to make some big changes! You can start by reducing the amount of animal products you eat, and learn to cook dishes that do not include them. Try to find other like-minded people to talk to or eat with. Look on 'Happy Cow' or other resources to find vegetarian restaurants and shops, or add them when you find them!
It is not always easy to be a vegetarian, especially a strict one (vegan) in many places in the world. If you start talking about it and looking around, though, you might find other people to support you and businesses and collectives you can support. The saying, "Be the change you want to see in the world" completely applies to vegetarianism. It may take time, but making certain choices and exposing other people to a different way of thinking can cause them to start questioning things, and maybe even making those big changes themselves. We touch many lives, and each interaction is an opportunity to change our reality.
Best of luck with your transition!!

Most humans are still eating meat, because they never see this terrible connection between agro-business and their plate. They still eat meat, because they have been brainwashed into believing that only with meat, they can get proteins. They do not understand that we make proteins from plants, not by eating animals.
They still eat dead animals, also known as carrion or cadavers, because they were convinced that this is a sign of wealth and progress. They want to prove to themselves that they "made it". They can afford meat every day.
They will kill themselves and all of Earth because of these false assumptions!

Much of the European Soya is organic. And if you are prepared to spend time cooking, those processed products aren't necessary anyway. Marmite and veggie stock cubes can give your cooking meaty flavours if that's what you crave. Getting into the animal rights and ethical side of meat and dairy avoidance wil stop you from slipping back. Good luck with keeping with it and helping to make a difference.

I thought I was doing ok by not eating red meat and eating fish instead. Now I see that even eating fish is bad for the planet. Thank you for this informative documentary! Shared with others.

Everything is bad for the planet: food you eat, clothes you wear, pets you have (especially dogs and cats have very high carbon footprint), electronics you use, car you drive, furnitures in your home, your home is bad for planet because of cement. There is just too much mass production and too many people. Overpopulation and overconsumption are the only problems, and nobody can fix it.
