- The crew of Cities in 4K is heading from one city at the Adriatic coast to another. This time we are in Ulcinj.

Ulcinj is a famous multi-ethnic and tourist town in the South of Montenegro. According to historical data Ulcinj is one of the oldest towns on the Adriatic coast. It is thought that Ulcinj is more than 2.000 years old. In this area for centuries the cultures of Orient and the West collided.
Ulcinj, as the southernmost city at the Montenegrin coast, is also the owner of the longest beach at the Adriatic Sea. This is the Long Beach or Velika Plaza which is 14km long. Other beautiful and very popular beaches in Ulcinj are Ada Bojana (a unique river island with marvellous sandy beaches), Valdanos (a bay with old olive trees along the coast), Short Beach or Mala Plaza in the centre and many more.
The Old Town - Kalaja - in Ulcinj is one of the most beautiful old towns worldwide. It is newly recovered and surely worth visiting. In this part of the city you can find a lot of cafes, hotels and restaurants.
In Ulcinj you can find a lot of religious objects, like mosques and churches. The most important of them are the Sailor Mosque, Namazgjahu Mosque, Pasha´s Mosque, Kryepazari Mosque, church-mosque St. Maria, Church St. Nicholas, St. Joseph Church, St. George Church and few others.

Ulcinj would be nothing without Albanians. Albanians built the city, Albanians (from Albania/Kosovo) contributed the most to Ulqin's tourism. Had it not been for Albanians Ulqin would be a poor fishing village.
So to all the Montenegrins here, I will say Ulcinj is Montenegrin but it was built by Albanians to become the tourist destination it is today.

Hi all. Me and my family are from England and usually go to the same European places each year Spain, Tenerife etc. We have booked to go Ulcinj for the first time next year. My big questions are is there lots to do trips etc and also, are the locals friendly, especially to us British.
