Great tip! It wasn’t until the last months of my MSc when I finally had that perfect draft that I realized it could’ve been different if I just had a whole SOMETHING….I will do that moving forward! Thanks Holly!

Hi Niamh! :) hope your first year is going well ❤️ in my first year, I read lots, and made lots of notes on the literature. I also carried out a lot of archival research which formed the bulk of my Year One research report. In total, I think it was about 10,000 words. But every project and every programme is different so definitely touch base with your supervisor if you haven’t done so already and what is expected in terms of writing quantity in first year :)
