- I re-watched the first SpongeBob Movie and the SpongeBob Musical around the same time of each other and thought it would be fun to redraw a movie scene based off of the musical's human designs!

I never understood as a kid that this whole scene was basically two young adults getting piss drunk in a bar.
Looking at it now (especially since they’re humans here) it seems more like they’re getting wasted in a kids ice cream parlor. Kinda disturbing. A lone adult wouldn’t be allowed to enter such a place especially if they’re a man.

This scene is so hilariously genius and classic, because if you watched this as a kid for the first time like I did, you just assume they had too much junk food and stayed up late and that's why they passed out and feel so sick in the morning.
As an adult I realize it's obviously supposed to be analogous to getting plastered and waking up with a monster hangover. They even show all the stages and attitudes people express when drinking 😂

This single line proves that he understands how hard must it be, even though he assumes that his friend got the job.
