I've seen many stands - this 3-wheeled version seems like the way to go. I just ordered a JD Squared Model 32 Hydraulic Bender. Can't wait for some tubing fabrication!
Cool project. Did you get the hydraulic cylinder from the Australian distributor or did you find a cheaper option? Have you contemplated making your own tooling?
The hydraulic cylinder is BVA brand and I bought it from eBay way cheaper than it is from JD. I make a lot of my own tooling :) just don't post everything on youtube.
After using this for awhile ,did you find 94cm to the mounting plate was the right height? and how tall are you? Thanks for a reply, I like your design the best of the ones I have seen. I am fixing to make one.
@@ProjectsDownUnder Thanks I appreciate your reply. It's a fairly hard decision to make on what sizes to buy... One more question, if you don't mind, where do you source your tube from, I'm finding it very difficult to find a metal supplier that sells "tube" here in Aus. Again appreciate your reply and I'm looking forward to your next build. 👍
How long are the die holders and what is the spacing on them ( how far down from top plate is the 1st set and distance between the 1st and 2nd one I’m about to get my stand built my tube bender is on its way and I hope to have it built before it arrives Had jd squared email me the diagram from their stand to get bolt pattern And what brand and type is your saw and blade you use and is that water or oil bathed ? I’m trying to get away from chop saw mainly because of the mess anyway thanks for responding Howard
Spacing and length needs to be determined by the dies you use. They are all different in size and thickness. I would wait for the dies to arrive before making the hangers. The chop saw is water bathed made by company called Brobo.

Nice job. I have based my stand on your project. I have the 2 inch die which is 50.8mm. Have you bent any 50mm tube with the 2 inch die?
Nice project. I think I would be tripping over it when using it or just storing it. Good job👍
Thanks 👍
Awesome build and awesome video.
What saw and blade did you use cuts through it like butter. Awesome job
Cobalt high speed steel blade.

Projects Down Under I am looking forward to your next project mate. Very inspiring stuff 👍

Yes I found it to the the right height and if I was to do it all again I would make it the same height.
What is that cutting machine you have? Looks super nice.
Great job btw!
Thanks. It's called a cold saw.
Nice work. I should do this.
Great Job!
What size die's did you decide to buy and are they for tube, pipe or square?
Thanks. I ended up buying 1" 1.5" and 2" tube dies and one 40mm square die. I think that covers me for most applications.

I have used handysteel.com.au although tube is less common it is much nicer to work with. I can't imagine getting good accurate bends with pipe
@@ProjectsDownUnder Thanks mate 🍻

What size rod did you use for the die hangers? I’m in the process of building me one like this. Thanks
What thickness is your top mounting plate where the bender attaches
The top plate is 12mm thick and the rod for hangers is 16mm
@@ProjectsDownUnder thanks for your reply
