Yup, I'm Mormon (LDS). Whom the Lord calls, the Lord qualifies. No one is greater than the other. One may be a Sunday school teacher for kids for some time and then be called to be the Bishop over a ward (congregation) and vice versa. I have served in many capacities and have learned so much in every calling. Grateful for any opportunity to serve.
Just love the energy between these 4 friends. You are bringing joy, knowledge ..via candid, thoughtful, honest dialogue and humor among friends...to many more than you have anything in common with (i.e. age, sex m/f, music, church experience..etc.). Keep doing these.
A couple of years back I did a bible study with two Mormons that came to my door, in the book of Mormon which they hold higher, and primary to the word of God , it says none came come to the father except through Joseph Smith" which was an LDS who wrote it around 1829, he was also a heavy polygamist. The word of God says a 3 stranded chord cannot easily be broken ecclesiastes 4. I immediately began to share the gospel in the Bible which says JESUS CHRIST alone died for our sins and none can come to the Father except through the him son of God. Jeremiah 31:3-4 shared in love.

I was once a member of a small COGIC church that encouraged every "Christ professing" to prepare a message/sermon for one of the weekday services. Personally, it helped me not to just study for myself but also look at what I am telling others and be accountable, among other things. However, I grew spiritually even more when I left COGIC (I grew up in COGIC) and went to non-denominational because it offered more opportunity for people to serve in the gifting (spiritual and otherwise) "God gives" the person. GOGIC allows you to serve in certain areas based on your "title." Where is that anywhere in the Bible????
It’s important to not mix up rebuke with persecution. Sometimes it’s not them it’s just us. We need to humble ourselves and ask the Holy Spirt if this is a voice of truthful rebuke in Christ or persecution because of Christ.

Can't wait to hear more. I like the idea of people "switching roles" because it also gives people an opportunity to see what gifting they possess. It's like raising a child. Loved this! I kind of agree that it would be good to see someone who was in the pulpit last week on the door this week. I don't think it minimizes the gift/calling. Now it could be complicated because when God uses a preacher mightily, people want to talk to them about the message or about whatever the message opened up for them. If they didn't get to you the day of the message they will take the opportunity the next time they see you so you could hold up the process of getting people to their seats. I do see a challenge of going the other way though... you can't randomly through people into the pulpit to preach that are not called to do so... that could be problematic.

All believers arm members of one body. Just as each member of your physical body has a certain function. Each member of the Spiritual body has a certain function. The problem (to me) with this conversation is why are we discussing and or agreeing with anything this false religion does.
I agree the Bible says He PERSONALLY gave us certain positions in the body of Christ. And He personally gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, Ephesians 4:11-12

Everyone is called to teach and share God's word, serve others, praise God, etc. It may not be what you are gifted in but that doesn't mean you can't participate. For instance, in a small church, they may not have enough people for one person to do the one thing they are good at but serve where there is a need. And we can see in Matthew 25:14-30 That we are encouraged to multiply our talents.

Having to live in someone else’s shoes is definitely a teacher, but I’d rather learn from your experiences. In regards to the opinions of others- Everything is filtered through their own life lenses if it’s not by the Holy Spirit. In confronting this issue internally, Perception is key, we are all on this journey of growth and we simply don’t know what we don’t know until it’s revealed. The opinions of others can become our poison if we give them too much time, attention, or importance in our life. Ultimately Jesus died for those he came to minister to and said forgive them for they know not what they do. When your ministry is for hurting people, you’re going to encounter a lot of hurting people projecting their pain on other people. It’s part of leaving our comfort zone to grow in our ministry . Count it all Joy, seek understanding, keep planting good seeds, pray for those hurting people and Put It In a 🎶 SONG 😁!! Just know the Reward is far greater than all the sacrifice. Also I definitely respect people filling in the gap or being cross trained if the pastors/teachers/ushers-that are called aren’t available but I’m feeling like permanent rotation might be better in an educational setting for the purpose of growth vs potentially torturing the congregation. 🤷🏽♀️ If XYZ has mood swings every day I’m thinking Im probably not assigning them to be a Greeter or an Usher...... 🤣Ever! But who knows that might be the test of deliverance we all needed to pass😭😂😇 Honestly there is no one way fits all so it’s probably best to just invite him in the situation 😁😁🙏🏾🙌🏾🎶😂

I was once a member of a small COGIC church that encouraged every "Christ professing" to prepare a message/sermon for one of the weekday services. Personally, it helped me not to just study for myself but also look at what I am telling others and be accountable, among other things. However, I grew spiritually even more when I left COGIC (I grew up in COGIC) and went to non-denominational because it offered more opportunity for people to serve in the gifting (spiritual and otherwise) "God gives" the person. GOGIC allows you to serve in certain areas based on your "title." Where is that anywhere in the Bible????

Loved this! I kind of agree that it would be good to see someone who was in the pulpit last week on the door this week. I don't think it minimizes the gift/calling. Now it could be complicated because when God uses a preacher mightily, people want to talk to them about the message or about whatever the message opened up for them. If they didn't get to you the day of the message they will take the opportunity the next time they see you so you could hold up the process of getting people to their seats. I do see a challenge of going the other way though... you can't randomly through people into the pulpit to preach that are not called to do so... that could be problematic.

But if you look at it, we are called to do everything each ministry does. Everyone is called to teach and share God's word, serve others, praise God, etc. It may not be what you are gifted in but that doesn't mean you can't participate. For instance, in a small church, they may not have enough people for one person to do the one thing they are good at but serve where there is a need.
And we can see in Matthew 25:14-30
That we are encouraged to multiply our talents.

Having to live in someone else’s shoes is definitely a teacher, but I’d rather learn from your experiences. In regards to the opinions of others- Everything is filtered through their own life lenses if it’s not by the Holy Spirit. In confronting this issue internally, Perception is key, we are all on this journey of growth and we simply don’t know what we don’t know until it’s revealed. The opinions of others can become our poison if we give them too much time, attention, or importance in our life. Ultimately Jesus died for those he came to minister to and said forgive them for they know not what they do. When your ministry is for hurting people, you’re going to encounter a lot of hurting people projecting their pain on other people. It’s part of leaving our comfort zone to grow in our ministry . Count it all Joy, seek understanding, keep planting good seeds, pray for those hurting people and Put It In a 🎶 SONG 😁!! Just know the Reward is far greater than all the sacrifice. Also I definitely respect people filling in the gap or being cross trained if the pastors/teachers/ushers-that are called aren’t available but I’m feeling like permanent rotation might be better in an educational setting for the purpose of growth vs potentially torturing the congregation. 🤷🏽♀️ If XYZ has mood swings every day I’m thinking Im probably not assigning them to be a Greeter or an Usher...... 🤣Ever! But who knows that might be the test of deliverance we all needed to pass😭😂😇 Honestly there is no one way fits all so it’s probably best to just invite him in the situation 😁😁🙏🏾🙌🏾🎶😂
