Oh , I ,could tell you stories about the 1st Man to build an Ice Road over the Beaufort Sea !! Ah the Pingo's !! And the Ice Road from Inuvik to Tuk !! Also 1st Man to be part of building the 1st Man-made Island in the Beaufort Sea.. They would dredge up from the bottom of the Beaufort Sea & as they were doing that , when there was enough sand etc. they would bring in a Srkorsky Chopper & lower a Cat. , then Lower him down & as they dredged up from the bottom of the Beaufort , he would build the Island , once it was big enough , they would bring in Brick-a-Brack & put it around the Island . Then set up a Drill to Drill for Oil .. His JOB ,was over for the time being , but if they did not find Oil. Then it was his Job , to Dismantle the Island in an Environment way & leave no Trace , that was the Important part !! to him, so the Fragile Eco-system of the Arctic was not disturbed .. It is a Family legacy , Diary he kept & the Photo's etc. And the Adventure of it all & the sense of Humour , he managed to keep thru the White-outs & all .. Harsh days then , But the Love for the Arctic never left him .. Nor his Writings of it .. It is Wonderful to see this Vid , all these years later & the Humour . Thank-you !!
