  • Join Eddy as he goes over what it took to remodel our pool with pro tips baked in.
Coming in with another day delayed video; in this video we go over the trials and tribulations we went through to get our pool remodeled. We display all the lessons we learned hopefully to save you some headache.
Starting off, pay attention to what permit you have and don't do more than what is required, at least not before asking your inspector. We wanted to make the pool safer with the split drain but the inspector did not like that we tore into the shell of the pool.
After we got through the permit issues we discuss why we don't like pour in place concrete coping for the pool. We will 100% be using precast on the next pool.
Once the coping is in place it's time to pick your pool tile. There are different options but the types we looked at were porcelain tile, recycled glass tile, or glass tile. We went with the recycled glass as it looks nice, but doesn't cost as much as regular glass.
After that we thought we were ready to plaster, but LADBS had other plans for us. We went through 7 enclosure inspections before we passed. Eddy goes over all the requirements in the video (but he glosses over the audible alarms required, so be sure to do your research on that).
Once we got the enclosure singed off it was off to the races to plaster.
