After the war I couldn’t find in populated places. I was young in a brand new foreign but safe America- my English was garbage and I was completely alone except for a church lady that helped me get refugee status and a right to work and earn money finally. I trusted nobody! We had Isis come through. I wasn’t okay at all. I found peace in the woods in America. Montana was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. It was like a land of magic. So green and full of life and what I had left was dry high mountains of the desert where we hid for almost a year. I get all my peace in the American outdoors. It’s healed my whole person and given me a feeling of self confidence in my own struggle for survival. Survival is a human struggle. It isn’t defined to a country or race or religion. It’s fully a human experience and something we all face to one extent or another. Obviously some far worse than others. Even so survival is a human challenge. Channels like this teach me things I didn’t know about American bushcraft, lands, hunting etc. I’ve become skilled with a primitive bow. We called them what would translate to long bow of wood- weird translation. A lot is different and much is the same. We sleep we eat we work we laugh we love we lose. It’s just how we do those things that makes us different.
Every year in the month on ramadan, I wake uo to eat and I replay all of your videos on 30 days every day, It is like my traditional thing to do, I love the way you do all the camping things and give a good time, thanks and God bless from Kosovo/Europe.
I enjoy all your videos. I don't mind subscribing to a second channel for the hunting and trapping. I'm interested in everything your up to. Thank you for passing along these skills and making them accessible to everyone.
I have a lot of stress in my life right now and your videos always make me feel comfy ❤ I’m sorry to hear TH-cam is cracking down on your content! I’d be happy to subscribe to any other channels you have
The Split Log stove is such a great natural way to have a controlled heat source for cooking, I liked the stick stoves for emergency or as you said quick small fires. Yeah nice to have a mild winter, but sorry you didn't get to all the videos you planned. Nice to see the Lynx, great experience. Hope these Chat videos will continue.
Cheers for the subtle nod, That pipe looks very Stanwell-ish..and nice choice on the tobacco..I've restored hundreds of estate pipes over 40 years..found many gems during that time. Had over 200 in my collection, now have 50 of my favorites. Getting tougher to find quality pipes at thrift/antique stores now, but always looking.
Wonderful video as always! Great idea with the split log stove. That would be great in an emergency situation too. My 2 cents is just to enjoy life and share what you want to through your videos. But I have a small channel and I don't make any money I just do it as a hobby. I just try to live life fully and share it with others, and hopefully I can encourage, inspire, and help people smile. Again great video! I pray God is blessing you and you can continue to enjoy the great outdoors and his amazing creation. Marty from MinneSNOWta.🙂
Indeed my friend you know the Beauty and the Solitude of the Woods. I chuckled at your response to the daylight savings time. I have spent weeks in the deep woods where time seemed to blow away with the gentle breeze. Don't let your passion become work but let your work become your passion.
I love the little fireside chats! I honestly love all the different videos you've done. Thank you! The bushcraft, camping and just general wilderness stuff is awesome. PS It's been super dry here in Oregon too for quite some time.
Nice video and chat. Here in the east our winters have become more wet than white. I often make a Swedish torch stove from a standing dead tree when out cutting firewood with my saw. It’s quick, easy and keeps the fire well off of the wet ground.
Nice talk, Kusk. The wildfire season sure does put a damper on things, but there may be new opportunities. You are wise to keep your content segregated, considering the times we live in. A man has to roll with the punches, as they say. Like you, we had a warm winter. I packed my sled up twice to take winter trips, and we just never got enough snow. Sweet little fry pan you rigged up. The handle always gets in the way, and you solved that problem. God bless, my friend. Can't wait to see your next episode!
I really enjoy your videos. Both the Bushcraft and Kusk Wild. I have just started watching the Bushcraft series and plan on watching all of them. Keep both channels coming. take care and stay safe.
The minimal survival winter stuff brought me here then i fell in love with your "repair and craft " attitude and dived down the rabbit hole of all your wealth of knowledge and overall calm vibe , I'll happily take hobo spring videos failing winter being humid and liked this coffee and chat clip was a nice touch especially on a sunny spring day very welcomed all the best from uk
I did not know you could recover a non-stick pan. My uncle smoked a pipe. Always loved the smell of his study when we visited. Been enjoying your videos for a few days now. God Bless.
Enjoyed your video. I’m also a pipe smoker…and have smoked the blend that you are smoking. Being out in nature and enjoying a pipe of tobacco is a nice and relaxing combination.
Nothing better than eating food cooked on an open fire. I was curious about your Pipe. How long have you been smoking a pipe? Do you smoke flavored tobacco? I live in Tennessee, born and raised. I'm almost 60 years old and I can remember as a youth seeing my kinfolk smoking pipes. They lived way out in the country. I cherish those memories. God Bless

Thanks for the chat - enjoyed it! Share your concern about your short winter - I just seen they released the latest bad news climate report. Thankfully, we have you to keep educating us on how to treat nature with respect. I fell really sorry about your troubles with censored content - but the video with the trapping of beaver was excellent - folks, even us in middle England need to know how food gets on the table - Keep up the great work and look forward to a summer or autumn series again, Happy Trails!

I'm sure I'll find out at least what province you're in and a bit more about you as I peruse your other videos. I figured right off you were Canadian by the drab olive tobacoo tin, ( what a sham that is). I was thinking your pipe looked very "Brigham Woodsman" like. Then...you said your tobacco was McClellan's Plumb Cake. I've never tried it but I have an unopened tin in my drawer for the past 8 months. I'll have to open it now. My go to is Mr. B's Muskoka Mixture. It's ludicrous that your hunting/trapping videos get censored. I won't even go down that road here. Thanks so much for this. I hope you do more. Pax Christi
I'm hoping to see more on Kusk Wild channel soon. It's such a shame we are all controlled so much by organisations like youtube. You should be able to put any legal content on your channel without the fear of censorship or demonetisation.
Looks like a great opportunity to smoke a bowl of full Virginia flake or even 1Q. I own a Peterson #5 champagne bell . Same shape mine is smooth instead of rustic.

Just back from a bushcrafting trip in the UK. Woodlands here are saturated getting a fire going is hard work. Getting a core of heat takes longer
Looks like a great opportunity to smoke a bowl of full Virginia flake or even 1Q. I own a Peterson #5 champagne bell . Same shape mine is smooth instead of rustic.
man, im dreaming of seeing a lynx in the wild, but they are so shy here in norway, would be interesting to se some carving/woodwork content, have a nice day.
I'd like to see you revisit the little teepee-looking campsite you did some time ago now, I think it was in four parts or something? Be interesting to see what it looks like now.
