    Just tried this style and loved it! Instead of being stuck in the house or under a dryer all weekend, I was able to go to church, on a date, etc, all while my hair was drying and curling!!!!! And, once I took the pipe cleaners out, my curls were gorgeous. I was worried that the wire from the pipe cleaners might snag or get stuck in my locks, but it wasn't a problem. Thanks for the great directions!

    that style is so cute...great for summer to keep your locs off of your neck. And the curl was amazing, I like the elongated curls.

    You made perfect sense....I honestly didn't keep track of time... I did it while watching tv but I would have to say it didn't seem any longer than when I roll my locs the other way....

    love the style and technique. who would've thought an arts and craft tool could come in handy for sisterlocks. i'm going on 14 months for my mines and I will have to try this. still new to the whole styling procedure for myself. doing my best now to master curling with the rods I've done for the lst time myself

    Wow, I like it! My hair is natural, 5yrs, but only for a few more hours. I'm finding all these cool styles after deciding I need to relax my hair again. I did everything but locs, though locking seems to make the hair grow much faster. Mine would definitely be down my back by now. I just cannot spend the days required to maintain 2 strand twist. I've grown weary of the long hours/days of managing my hair, the shrinkage & long hours of managing my hair (repeated on purpose). I want to try this.

    The style is beautiful and very afro-centric. I've never ventured out without a scarf with pc's in but will try this method it also looks like you will get a more consistant coil this way.

    Awesome!! I have tried pipe cleaners twice and the curls were all tight. I now know its because of the technique I used (wrappng the locs from the bottom up like I am using a perm rod). This is extremely helpful.

    • @Qochemist
      @Qochemist  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      After you wrap all you rlocs around the pipecleaners you just bend the pipecleaners into a pincurl shape... There is really no exact way to do it... you just decide how you want to bend them and do it... Hope that helps...

    • @Qochemist
      @Qochemist  8 ปีที่แล้ว

    @nnekalocs you would just straighten the end that's hooked around the hair at the scalp and pull them out. Does that make sense?

  • @NnekaLocs
    @NnekaLocs 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    how did you get them out? guess you had to unravel them instead of just pulling them off the pipe cleaner?

  • @mndbndr93
    @mndbndr93 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is very beautiful. I want to try it, but my locs are about six inches past my shoulders. How can I make this work with long dreads??

    • @Qochemist
      @Qochemist  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to play around with it..I have seen people with locs longer than mine wear this style... My locs are a bit longer now and I can still create a similar look

    • @Qochemist
      @Qochemist  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will add that you will probably need to have a longer pipecleaner to accommodate the length of your locs

    • @mndbndr93
      @mndbndr93 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking of using wrapped florist wire, which I have rolls of at home. It's a thick gauge, which when I wrap in floral tape would be about the same as pipe cleaners and I could cut it to length.

  • @shaz1121
    @shaz1121 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    So cute!!, did this method take longer to do than rolling the loc starting from the bottom? I hope this question makes sense.

  • @JenuineLocs
    @JenuineLocs 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video, I think I'm going to try this. I'm still in the budding stage do you think I will get better results taming my frizz first? I've been trying to avoid re twisting to often.

    • @Qochemist
      @Qochemist  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jenuine Lover I think you should tame your frizz at your roots a bit before using the pipecleaners because your hair could get tangled around the pipecleaner.... But that doesn' t mean you have to retwist.. You can just wrap the loose hairs around the base of the loc without doing so tightly... Hope that helps

    • @JenuineLocs
      @JenuineLocs 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I have recently started using the wrapping method and it does help. But I'll wait on the pipe cleaners.
