Enduro 12 gets a BIG servo upgrade!

Do not underestimate the new Element RC Enduro 12 platform. This narrow, short wheelbase platform is ripe for scale builds and has the flexibility to be a quality first vehicle for new comers of all ages.
I know I started with a 380 powered Tamiya grasshopper and look at me now! Lol.
In this video I example the power of kit bashing to get to an end result I desired personally. Using the Axial Adventure UTB18 spare part for a steering servo mount and easy work around on the Enduro 12 platform got me a full size servo where I wanted it.

I am sketching up an adapter for a standard servo. I can follow up with an STL link when it is finished. I will make it simple and flat so the z-axis layers won’t be an issue. I know printed stuff is shit compared to molded stuff but it is nice to download something, push print and be up and running in a few hours.

Reefs Rc did an STL for purchase for a full sized servo as well. All good options! I also hear that STH is doing a bugger chassis for this platform as well soon.

@@ateaserc good to know! It is a very simple part so when my kids give me a second I will sketch it up. I don’t mind posting stuff like this for free. I’m guessing the one from reefs will be more refined so maybe still worth the $$.
It would be kinda cool to print a servo arm that snaps before servo gears. That way you can have a completely rigid link that will also protect your servo gears. It would cost a few cents in plastic but would require replacing the arm every time. It could also be difficult to guarantee everyone’s print snaps the same way… probably better just to buy a servo saver lol.

@@ateaserc turns out - this isn’t easy to do without restricting suspension travel. I got a working draft but the servo hits the frame. Gonna have to put more effort into this I’m afraid. At least now I know why they went with a non-standard servo

1/12 is perfect size. 1/10 feels so bulky with 3 others for my boys. I got the old Thunder Tiger Toyota version for $85 on clearance. Steering geometry is the worst, and the center gearbox skid hangs on everything.
