He does have a stunt team believe me he does but he’s the big brother of them all that takes all the beatings and suffered the most do you know that in this scene he ended up in hospital with broken bones and fractured ribs for a week in hospital and in this movie he doesn’t even used any chinese martial arts instead the fight scenes here and mostly Shotokan Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, Hapkido and Boxing with some street brawling moves no chinese martial arts clearly this fight scene and many other’s in this film isn’t Kung Fu trust me I know take my word for it

There are a bunch of guys who are Jackie's equal in agility or speed or complexity; fewer in his league on comedy and personality within the fights (Sheng Chiang might have been the closest). But NOBODY put all those elements together as well, or for as many years as he did.

80s Hong Kong Action is the pinnacle of fight choreography. This can never be replicated … ever. Not just the fight choreography, but the stunts as well, absolutely insane.
This mall scene is frantic, this movie was amazing with fight sequences that put nowadays movie to shame, Jackie Chan and his stunt team really was something special

Bruce and Jackie are both on a different level. Jackie only surpassed Bruce because he lived longer but if Bruce lived another 30 years we would have seen them both face off in their primes. Imagine a film with Bruce as the protagonist and Jackie as the main villain that he fights at the end. I don't even think any modern fight scene has surpassed Gorgeous with Brad Allen and Jackie way passed his prime. Let's feel lucky that we still have Jackie. RIP Bruce Lee and Bradley Allen.

When you realise that, they did all those stunts without any safety harnesses... Those are real glasses, not the sugar glasses that are widely used today, and they're actually literally flipping into them, not to mention this very fast paced fight scene where Jackie is struggling with multiple opponents, unlike the action today where the actors beat up 20 guys on their own without any trouble.
The glass used in the movie was „sugarglass“, only twice as thick than what was considered safe to use, the double thickness is why it looks so much more realistic, nonetheless, i consider this the best fight sequence in movie history, this is the pinnacle of action cinema, not only for hong kong movies but for action movies in general. Of course thats only an opinion ^^

If you have the chance just look up on the difference between sugar glasses and normal glasses and how they break, sugar glasses always break in small round pieces like sugar hence the name. And because of this they are widely used in movies today, but normal glasses don't break off in small chunks they just break and can create various sharp edges from them.

Edit: he once jumped through real glass though, in police story 2 when he jumps from the bus trough the big glass „billboard“ it was prepared with fake glass but he jumped too early and went through a part of real glass, you can see the cuts he got in the credits.
