Ok. While Jim is working down in the royal kitchen, he catches a glimpse of a pretty girl outside the window. As he goes to get a closer look, Melody spots him. They soon start talking forever to each other. until the princess must sneak back to her quarters. While preparing for a party, Melody asks her mother why she has to attend these parties with other royalty. Ariel tells her "because you're a princess. and princesses don't socialize with commoners." As melody dances with a prince, Jim spots her and sees she's falling for her dance partner. after the party, melody goes to see Jim again. Jim tells her she should go back to her "pretty boy prince" and that she should leave him alone. melody tells him she was only pretending to like him to please her parents. she ran away because she was scared of falling into fake love. Jim finally confesses his love to melody and they kiss.
