NSX and Micro-segmentation

This video covers the basic concept of micro-segmentation within the data center. Micro-segmentation is a key feature of NSX Data Center and a common use case for customers as it allows distinct isolation between servers and their east / west traffic. This is not easily accomplished with traditional hardware firewalls. Using NSX Data Center creating segmentation rules is simplified and manageable.

Great, but i see everything you talking about can be done in switch and firewall level, as the prices for NSX nearly US$6,000 per CPU socket, let say i have 4 servers, that around $24K which is too much.

I have a question please, are these policies (as there are many) managed by one single distributed firewall or many ?
(I know that a Distributed Switch can manage many hypervisors at the same time, is it the same concept for distributed firewalls ?)
