Agree. Gotta admit... My favorite part is Jim's review of Dynamite, and looking up TH-cam clips of whatever Jim is talking about.
If Tony really loves wrestling he needs to get away from booking and hiring talent. He needs to hire the right guy. Competition creates a thriving atmosphere, fans don't want WWE monopoly.
As much as I'm not a big fan of AEW, I really don't want them to fall because more options for wrestlers (even though most of them aren't TV ready), these great JC reviews and plus, we're not going to see another person willing and able to make a fed in our lifetime.
This podcast can only exist and be successful with BAD wrestling!🤣

If finishers aren't enough to put a guy away, what's the point of having one? It used to be that once a finisher was fired off, that was all she wrote. Only occasionally would a guy kick out, usually a top heel or baby face, and that was always a true holy shit moment.
Times change. Cornette still thinks a vertical suplex should be a win.

@@langman1151 There has to be some kind of logic behind a finish.. Guys kicking out of getting pile driven on concrete makes no sense.. In fact the moment I felt insulted watching wrestling was when the Ultimate Warrior jumped into an exposed turnbuckle and then immediately got a perfect plex and still kicked out (survivor series 90). Didn't even want to watch UW matches after that.

Hook gets slammed onto the announce table and power-bombed onto the ring apron. Gets hit by a muscle buster. Kicks out at 1. Goes from zero to hero. Gets chocked out. Gets to his feet maybe 2 minutes later. He taunts Joe after the match and Joe hits him with a second muscle buster and is back on his feet again a minute later.

I saw people on Bleacher Report just so proud that Hook was able to T-Bone Joe. I told them "you know Joe did most of that, right?" The apologists attacked 😂

@@Pogo113 i think I covered all the high points of the match in my comment. Match went downhill after the kick out at 1. Couldn’t believe hook was on his feet maybe 2 mins later after getting choked out and gets to his feet again a min after being hit with a second muscle buster after the match.

Looking forward to Jim Cornette on the CM Punk/Cody Rhodes promos on RAW. That was fantastic.
Any aspiring wrestling talent should watch that promo over and over again. That's how you make an impact in industry. Moves are cool and all but it has short term impact a momentary cheer but people move on quick. But telling a story drawn from personal life stays in people's memory for a longtime.

Still blown away by how this Dynamite "gained' viewers. Of course, a lot of it was thanks to Big Bang Theory and Samoa Joe once again. To bad it came at the post of burying Samoa Joe because of Jinder Mahal and WWE working Tony into a fit. The Cult of Khan still sees this as a "victory" because it's the highest-rated Dynamite since Sept, but they still have failed to reach a million viewers in 47 weeks. You also had to put the worst Rod and Todd Flanders segment ever, after a tribute to Jay Briscoe that go no advertisement, but Tony reminded everyone the previous week of "Brodie Lee's Tribute." Show you how much the Briscoes really mean.
They gained zero new viewers. The die hards that haven't been watching decided to do so because Antonio Khanoki sounded the Tribal Horn summoning them to his one man crusade. It's a superficial "w" for AEW and it's the only kind they can get.

Somebody explain the difference between Jay Briscoe and Chris Jericho. Jay said what he said, apologized and worked with groups to mend fences and get a better understanding about life general. What happens, some suit gets in their feelings and The Briscoes can't get on TV. Jericho has a track record of things that could get you locked up in some states and you can't get him off of TV. Make it make sense.
I know it was mentioned in the other clip, but just listening to it (haven't watched wrestling in years), it's so transparently obvious that the main event was an attempt to recreate the Undertaker vs. Jeff Hardy ladder match, with only a threadbare, surface-level, visual understanding of what made that match great.

If Sting could do a singles match, the best option would be Darby. Doesn’t require a heel turn. Sting could say “I’m retiring, and I want to see how much you have learned. So my last match will be against my protege.” If booked right, it would be another Michaels vs Flair, not even joking.
Hook kicking out of a musclebuster at 1 is reason enough to continue to never want to watch AEW again. I get wrestlers kicking out of finishers and maybe even no selling a move if it's their character-Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Kane, Ultimate Warrior, etc. Those are guys that were built as larger than life personalities/characters. Even as a guy who is 5'9 and I was given the task of beating a guy who is much taller, weighs more, and my blows aren't as effective on them, by all means it would be tough to keep them down if not impossible. But this scrawny kid who has been beat up the whole match, has never been presented as any kind of supernatural, superhero character, not only kicks out of everything but then gets hit with a finisher and is up at 1...just looks so phony and so bad and it just buries your world champion who is supposed to be an intelligent, cunning, and when needed, a bad-ass.
It's OVER. No more Tony, no more Finger Bang or the Young Sucks. No more Jericho In 3 inch Heels. It's OVER, ROVER.
Even in cartoon form Toni Storm is hot.

I love when Jim mentioned how the Best Friends and Penta have been on this program for almost 5 years and they have all had zero progression. Penta for being a lucha guy has a bit of a look, his moves are good, and has a charisma...yet he's done like absolutely nothing to get over more or grow. Zero mic skills... Best Friends have been together for 5 years and haven't changed anything. Yeah Pockets has been pushed but with nothing different about his character at all...even then he runs people off usually. I know not every wrestler can get over or get on tv but at this point, Trent and Muffin top should just be off tv or putting over some kind of monster character or bad-ass you want to push. Same with Kommander.
Really looking forward to Jim and Brian talking about the latest news about Vince and Brock.

I disagree with Brian, Matt believes everything he says cause he says the same thing pretty much every time. Reminds everyone they the ones responsible for starting the company and they are the core of the company even though there are several people more over at the moment.

AEW does seem to be getting a little better bit by bit. Any improvement is good and better than staying the same or getting worse.
I disagree on them getting better. In fact, they seem to be getting worse with the same guys having the same matches and now zero stories or promos or reason given for any of it to be happening.
