Cutting and Polishing my First Geode!

Found this botryoidal geode while rockhounding. Wasn’t as spectacular as I wanted but can’t complain for my first one. Now I have to go find more

Thanks! It was a good first run, now I have to get more. May take a while, that was the first geode I’ve found in the first two years of rockhounding.

Thanks! There were lots of issues with the rocks having a concave shape when they cut when I wasn’t clamping them down. Having dirt is pretty nice

Thank you! I’m going on a work trip to Montana soon and I’m hoping to have free time up there to do some rockhounding. I won’t have any of my equipment but I’ll be able to process it when I get back. I’m working on making more cabochons right now so I can wrap them while I’m up there
