Hey Kevin, I live in Box Springs, Marion County, Georgia and was attracted to one of your knife videos so I subscribed to you last night. Well, then I found out your were in Ellaville and lit up like a Christmas tree since I'm 47 and I'm at in-home hospice here. I have a couple of really old knives my grandfather and great-grandfather from Wisconsin....just wanted you to know The Knife Doctor has a "Very Local" Fan and Subscriber!!!!
I think you got a great deal on the Case CV Trapper, looks great in your Display Case. The irregularity or "crack" isn't very noticeable and the only person it matters too is you. Great Video! Have a good day Kevin!
display case would look pretty sweet with all the yellow delrin on left and matching amber bone on right, easy to find matching amber bone knives on ebay, even the year good luck
Man Ole Man Kevin! You fine the sweetest deals dude. The guy wanted $99 and you got it for $55. Then another $10 off for a maybe crack in the bone handle. That's some great negotiating brother.... 👏🏼 😊❤✌🏻👍🏻 Catch you on the next one my friend.
That Western fishing knife is the exact one I told you I have but mine is is great shape I will send you an email photo of mine! Mine and yours has the last of the Celluloid knife scales that exspand back for 150 years. Rust and heat causes it to crack and get brittle and why allot of them are damaged!!
Love the case display. There’s an old country store with a few yellow and bone knives in it but I don’t know it they would be what you need. I am get a picture of them if you want to look at them.
It looks like a hairline crack but I wouldn’t worry it’ll be a fine specimen in that display case. I bought a victorinox lockback hunter in the box today at the pawnshop for the collection.
Quick question knife doctor- I enjoy hearing the weather radio broadcast in the background while watching your videos; care to share what type of radio you have it broadcasting through? Love the knife content! Keep it coming.
Awesome cool video thumbs up. I like that little knife. It looks like a bigger knife. My father had a case like that one you just opened but the handles were darker. Nice case.
Hello Kevin. I was just curious about what type bone handle knives you are planning to put in your display case, are you sticking with the amber bone CV or just whatever you come across in bone with carbon blades?
Doc, the video wasn’t long enough. Our pocket knife cravings must be satisfied. 😂 Oh well, looks like we’ll be rationing out our daily medicine until tomorrow’s episode. Cheers, Kevin! 🍻
No, I’m sorry. I don’t repair knives for other people. Repairs don’t always go as planned. I don’t want to permanently damage a sentimental knife. I hope you understand. Thanks for reaching out!!
Looking forward to seeing you fill up that display case.

Love the quality of the westerns with real bolsters got a western stockman from ebay on its way fir under 20 bucks 😊
Those Western brand knives were in many stores back in the 1960s. I have a CV Trapper like yours , one of my favorites.
The fish knife had a hook sharpener on the side , a small whetstone!

Yes!! Thanks
Why is there no folding hunter in the display case 🙄 to me the folding hunter is the best case knife 🤔 made. Very strong and versatile 💪
i noticed also no baby butterbean those started in 1999 , display maybe pre 99, knives did not all come in cv every year also
It looks like a hairline crack but I wouldn’t worry it’ll be a fine specimen in that display case. I bought a victorinox lockback hunter in the box today at the pawnshop for the collection.
That’s awesome!!
Awesome looking display. Congratulations brother
Thank you so much 😊
Looking forward to your case display being full ...

Very nice
The shield on the fish nice was a hook sharpener.
Thank you!!
Awesome cool video thumbs up. I like that little knife. It looks like a bigger knife. My father had a case like that one you just opened but the handles were darker. Nice case.
Great job very nice case knife. Watch videos every day keep good work
I gotta be on the lookout for one of those old cabinets, gonna be super cool
Wasn't Western a brand sold by Sears Roebuck or Montgomery Ward? Just guessing.
I don’t know.
Nice deal on the case👍 Kevin. Does that cv steel patina similar to carbon steel? Keep up the good work my friend. Take care. 🇺🇲🔪🔥🌲
I really couldn’t say. Thanks for watching!!
Another great video Kevin. 🇺🇸👍
Thank you!!
No problem brother ✊
perfect fit congrats and filling a spot
Nice score on that case that fish and knives. Pretty awesome as well.👍
Thanks 👍
Hey Kevin what polishing wheel do you use on your grinder ???
It not a polishing wheel. It’s a fiber wheel used to remove surface rust. I buy it at Harbor Freight.
Hello Kevin. I was just curious about what type bone handle knives you are planning to put in your display case, are you sticking with the amber bone CV or just whatever you come across in bone with carbon blades?
Just what ever bone I come across with CV steel. New old stock. With boxes.
Do you have any of the knives for your display in your collection? Be neat to fill it with vintage knives
I have a folding Machete made by Case it us from WW 2
Wow!!
Good one, I like the slimline trapper a lot too. I like most all of them lol
Awesome!!
I have a Trapper identical to yours but mine is SS and not CV.
Great deal on that Case Doc, what happened to the PAL WW II fixed blade?
I got it still. Just haven’t gotten to it yet.
I sent you a box that shows it was delivered on 12-30-2023! I wonder what happened to it
What was in it?
A box of knives and a couple of dental tools
Nice find on eBay…..In my opinion I don’t think it’s a crack,It’s definitely a part of the bone handle.
I think so too
Semper Fi, brother.
Semper-Fi!!
@@theknifedoctor when were you in the corps? I was in from 66-72.
So if a case knife splits on the handle u can send it back?
Yes!!
On Ebay UK its not allowed to list knives for sale !
Terrible!!
Doc, the video wasn’t long enough. Our pocket knife cravings must be satisfied. 😂
Oh well, looks like we’ll be rationing out our daily medicine until tomorrow’s episode.
Cheers, Kevin! 🍻
LOL!!
how much for a teeth cleaning and polish 🤔...
No, I’m sorry. I don’t repair knives for other people. Repairs don’t always go as planned. I don’t want to permanently damage a sentimental knife. I hope you understand. Thanks for reaching out!!
$50 is a fair price on that Case Trapper. His first price was too high.
Mo, actually $75 a fair price for this knife without the crack.
Why are knives so cheap in the States?
🙂🔪👌👍
The handle on the Western fishing knife is a fish hook sharpener.
It doesn't look to be a crack tbh.
