Ok, I'm going to note what I gather from here but I'm not sure 100% if it's correct or not. The beginning is actually xin chen with his son. So when his son asked why he doesn't have a dad, viewers were taken back to what happened to xiao er and how he gave birth to his son. On to xin xuan saving xiao er from his elder brother, he had sex with xiao er to save him and made a soul pact so xiao er will get pregnant. During this time, there is a flashback to 700 years ago where xin xuan and xiao er were already a couple and expecting a baby. But because they got cursed by a monster that xin xuan killed in ep1, he had to kill his unborn child to save xiao er from the curse and at the same time removed his memory. This part explains the flashback in ep4 actually. I think xin xuan regretted it even though he thought that doing so can ensure xiao er's safety but what happened was his brother took a claim on xiao er instead and xiao er really did fall in love with xin chen before he committed suicide and got reincarnated again by xin chen. The part that were not translated, I use Google translate to get a gist of it and bear in mind that what I translate might not be 100% accurate. So xiao er is now pregnant with xin xuan's child, I'm unsure either xiao er himself went to water mirror or his father, his highness took him there. But xiao er wants to go back because he wants to know if xin chen have been taking good care of their son. Also, it's not like xiao er can't leave water mirror immediately. Apparently his father wants the brothers to find xiao er on their own if they want to take him back. And during the brothers conversation, it seems that there is a matter that they agreed on that they will attend to once they get xiao er back. I don't know what matter it is since xin xuan agreed for it as long as they can bring back their child alive. This is all what I gather. But I remind again, my thought might be wrong tho. P/s : Actually in the beginning, I thought it was a flashback of xiao er when he was a child asking his father yu heng, why he doesn't have a dad because of the white hair. But then I realize that he doesn't have the mark on his forehead like yu heng did when he went to find his highness. So I conclude that it was actually xin chen with his son.
