I believe that subconsciously I was unwilling to make any statements that would potentially reveal personal viewpoints in regard to metaphysical stuff, so i avoided that whole realm of jungian/psychological archetypes.
Sometimes I wonder if Meow Wolf is aware of how many people will be tripping balls when visiting their experience lol, a missing child incident would send some gnarly vibes your way for sure, that was my first thought. Also got haunt maze vibes in a lot of this Meow Wolf as well.
I agree. They really need to flesh out the storyline and make it a mystery along the way as people go through the house. I did this for the first time today and spent about 3 hours there. I still had no idea where the kid was when I left.
I've been to Omega Mart, and to be honest, it's so much beautiful art to look at, and interactive areas for kids that you would miss the lore they have there unless you pay attention to everything. I went with my 3 friends, every time we split up we would accidentally end up going to the same area from different places, get excited to show each other what we discovered and found new things along the way. 😂😂😂 It wasn't until one of my friends played a video and remembered reading a diary, that he noticed it was a lore to it
Just got back from this. I wanted to look at all of the things around the house to try to piece the story together but it was way too crowded. Glad you made this video.

That’s strange, because having gone there, I felt like what was more important was why and how he left, what allowed him to leave, and what creates this world for him. All these questions are answered at length and with a pretty heavy insight into how it affects the family dynamic. I feel like knowing Jared is lost in the Real Unreal and how is all they can really give us, because if we actually see him then it ruins the environmental storytelling and the themes carry no weight for anyone who accidentally walks into the room he’s in before actually investigating. I quite liked the story.
I went here today!!😍 There was this very nice girl at the blacklight undersea rock room, and she was super kind and helpful when she explained to me how everything was going!!😊 She said I can interpret it however I want. And then there was a bored looking lady on top of a structure, I think that was intentional, but I didn't speak to her, and finally, there was a worker playing piano, I watched him for a bit but left! As I didn't want to creep him out or distract him from his BEAUTIFUL playing. ❤ I also saw the specimen, but not that creepy room like you did, I'm guessing we didn't see his full travel route
I went there and talked to an employee directly after my visit. They said, and I quote: “ Happy Garry is an instigator. He’s always saying yes to everything. But that’s why we love him. “ Just a tidbit for your future theories lol
I believe that the room that the "specimen" escaped to is a reference to The Backrooms, due to the yellow wallpaper and the imposing 'bacteria' specimen. Specifically, that room is inspired by Kane Pixels' version of The Backrooms because the usual Backrooms lore doesn't mention a 'bacteria' entity on Level 0.
22:00 little fun fact for you, the Dreamfather game is almost a 1 for 1 take on the persuasion mini game in the rpg Oblivion. It has the same mechanic of choosing which option to go with and reading the NPC's face to see how they'll react. Whoever developed that one must have been a fan!
Awesome video!!! I visited the real unreal last night for the first time. Was not crowded so I got to take my time and really enjoy it but still didn't get all the riddles and clues.
Interesting note: Jared says he fell asleep drawing, and when he woke up, the creature was in his glass of water. I wonder if this is inspired by Quiddity, the other dimensional Dream-Sea that appears in Clive Barker’s The Great and Secret Show.
juicy breakdown! I haven't been all that interested in meow wolf in general, but the way you present it makes me appreciate it a lot. also wow, that sequence around 8 minutes in was such a cool use of music
Great video just went there for the opening day however there was wayyyy too many people to properly enjoy and explore the story so thank you very much
I just went there this weekend! Sadly the side story seemed too much for my partner and I, honestly we didn't want to read 30+ double sided pages in old mans room. Also there were a ton of people so watching all of the videos and pics in the electronics wasn't feasible without disrupting other peoples experiences, We felt uncomfortable hindering other people from enjoying the exhibit. I gathered a decent amount of clues but still didn't get to fully experience the exhibit as it should have been.
happy garry! Honestly i loved the story and it was an adventure at the real unreal! I loved happy garry the most and bought the keychain. 2nd one I’ve been to,first was omega mart!
17:23 okay...a part of the "shtick" (which may not be the right word) with The Real Unreal is how a large portion of it--not just the fact that the "nexus" the multiverse branches out of is a house--pays homage to the House of Eternal Return, whether it be in familiar elements like the refrigerator portal (Brrr-muda is a pun on HoER's Portals Bermuda), the arcade (the HoER equivalent Wiggly's Plasma Plex), and the glow-in-the-dark "aquarium" area (in both), returning artists and collectives like Chris Hilson (for the Baba Yaga hut) and Future Fantasy Delight (for the capsule hotel, but they also did the internet cafe in Convergence Station), and lore. The trailer in particular doesn't need too much knowledge about HoER, and actually gives a bit of a summary of what the whole incident was and of what caused it, although only from Lucius' perspective. Spoilers ahead! The main lore element in the trailer is the angst-heavy scrapbook of sorts (formally called Lucius' Mind Map) stuck to the cabinet doors, consisting of Lucius Selig recounting some of the events before, during, and after the incident within the lore of the HoER house. Lucius Selig was not only a pseudo-psychic with his own cult, but also had the ability to walk freely between--and even restructure to his own liking--parts of the multiverse; however, the Charter found out about those abilities, and cut him off from using them. The anger resulting from this turns to regret, however, as, in the process of trying to reclaim his powers, Lucius dooms another lost boy, Lex Pastore, to be stuck in multiverse purgatory ("fog space"). In the fallout from this, The Incident occurs, and the Selig and Pastore families--namely Morgan, the hamster Nimeseku, and Lucius himself--are thrown across the multiverse. Lucius' scrapbook then goes on to recount how he caught glimpses of the Converged Worlds (and even The Last Stop) as well as Seven Monument Valley, before being stuck in what he calls "The Liminal Hinterlands" and what might be equivalent to Jared's "The Real Unreal", but is colloquially known to other wanderers as the "Weird". Lucius finds a trailer in the desert suspiciously similar to the one in HoER where he hid from the Charter, takes up residence in it, and sheds his former "Master" epithet in favor of "Lucius The Lost", patiently waiting for a way to undo his past mistakes; fortunately for him, the last event in the mind map is Jared appearing in the Hinterlands, wandering the multiverse like Lucius was once able to. There really isn't anything that furthers the TRU storyline besides the hope that Jared and the parallels between the Delaney-Fuqua house and the Selig-Pastore house may prove critical in fixing the damages done during The Incident, but the ties are there, and they explain other nods to HoER like the note from Morgan Pastore and Nimeseku in the Delaney house's laundry room and why most of the clocks in TRU are stuck reading 7:06.
@@audreyrasmussen540I'll be really curious to see how often the black blobs appear in other installations, especially going forward. I think it's pretty clear that the Lightning Room was their origin, but the way that bits of them were scattered through TRU almost felt like they were... metastasizing. It felt ominous.
Not sure what the story is, but I went today for the first time and in the iPad with the four armed manaquin there’s a video of the boy coming back from flashing lights but one of the women disappears and the house shakes and glows
So I have one question so basically Jared could go through these demetions until he got stuck and couldn’t escape he then got stuck in the video game??
From what i saw, no it doesn’t. It does still have interactable tvs and computers and stuff. It has a new brain bean system that i think is their version of the rfid system.
Why no explanation???

I really want them to collaborate with a cruise line and make a meow wolf themed cruise.
