Ive ended up with the Cobra LTDx based on your and Chris’ reviews and have not looked back. Picked it up a year after it debuted and it’s been incredible. Now I wish there was an SGGT here in the states!
The Callaway Maverick is the best driver I ever used right out of the box. Rented in Florida and find it to have a true sweet spot that covers the entire face. Added 20 yards and tightened my game.
I just picked up the standard Aerojet a couple months ago when they dropped to $250 here in the US. I wanted to go with an XS shaft, and I absolutely love the aerojet now. Here in a year and a half or so, maybe 2 years when the price drops ill go with a DS Adapt
5 drivers in one year, enough said. Started with the F9, then the Stealth, Ping G430, then the Aerojet and now have the Darkspeed. Forever chasing and if I'm honest, I should have stuck with the Cobra F9 and saved loads. 🤦🏼I did get my first Hole in One this year, so doing something right 🎉🎉⛳ just not with my driver choices 🤦🏼😂😂
The F9 was one of the greatest drivers ever made. I gave mine to my son. The thing goes miles. I’ll never buy a new driver again! A new shaft, yes, driver head, no. Same with the 3 wood.
Congrats , I can't get my hand on a decent F9 they are hard to find , I went from G400 , Srixon MK , SIM 2 , Mizuno STX , Callaway Rogue the newer version , and the G400 is my fav out of them which IS my original , also congrats ON the ACE.
@ they are hard to find. I told my son that if he wanted a new driver, I would buy him one, but give me the F9 back. You don’t see them in second hand bins, or thrift shops. Quite rare
@jeffnahass8373 hard to find online as well and when you do , they are still 250 $ or beat up and 200 + I'm a greens keeper at a private club and a member has 1 sitting in the wall collecting dust and it is mint condition , prob been sitting there for a few years or more , this year I am gonna find out who owns it and see if they will let me purchase it off them , our super has an idea and thinks the person who owns it just left it and has forgotten about it lol I noticed it when we were parking equipment for winter storage in our member cart barn. So I have a chance to find one for maybe a fair price tho I have to change shaft if so cause it is to whippy for me.
Picked up the LS in May for 300 brand new. Cobra drivers are phenomenal value. Even brand new current models they give incredible value being $70 ish less than most of the other big names
These videos do help me think “do I really need a new driver?” Gaming the LTDx LS now and most days love it. 3 years old but I don’t know if tech has moved on enough to warrant a new one. Although I do love the new DS Adapt range from cobra… great video James!
I went to American Golf a few weeks ago. I’m sure the Aerojet was £200 (brand new). And the LTDx, which is an earlier model, is still £230. Quite a few people seem to prefer the LTDx over the Aerojet, which may be why it’s more expensive. I’ve never tried the Aerojet but the LTDx is a very good club.
After seeing the new Cobra DS Adapt drivers I've been thinking about upgrading from my RadSpeed, this could be a good replacement until the DS Adapt prices come down to a sane level.
When my old R7 driver broke last spring I picked up the Aerojet Max version for $220 as a stop gap. In July I went for a fitting with all the new 2024 drivers. All except the AI Smoke underperformed the Aerojet for distance. Since the Aerojet still had the best dispersion, I stuck with it rather than drop $600 on the Callaway.
I used to game the Titleist TSR2 model until a golfing friend wanted to have a go and with the famous saying ‘you sky it you buy it’ well he skied it so he bought it, with the money I bought a second hand Cobra Aerojet from golf clubs for cash and it turned out to be better than my fitted TSR2
I have the blue Cobra LTDx and it's been so great for me. Found it new still in the wrapper in the "used" section at a golf show for only $209. I'm thinking of upgrading my Cobra F8 3W to the LTD matching one. :) No reason to have the 'latest/greatest" if i'm not an awesome golfer. If it's 2-4 years old.. who cares? It's good enough!
I love that counter weighted shaft! I've got it in my LTDx LS. That Cobra driver is still just about as good as anything I've tried. Just for fun i recently went to Maple Hill golf in Grand Rapids and tried out some old and new drivers. The surprises were: New, the Srixon ST Max and, Old, the TaylorMade M2. If I needed a good cheap driver, I'd pick up an M2.
Enjoy these reviews and the shout out to second hand clubs being no shame. Find what fits both your swing and budget and does the job. Cheers James. Happy New Year 🎉
I took your advice and bought a TM M1, mint condition upgrade shaft and new grip for 75 notes, three games in no lost balls 250 total in the winter.PXG for sale 😂
I picked up the LTDx max for under $150 brand new and I think it’s almost as good as my TSR2 almost the TSR2 I find more forgiving but as far as distance they are both really close
I’ve had Taylormade M2, Sim, stealth, Cobra LTDx. Tried the Callaway Ai smoke, Ping G430. Still nothing is straighter and more consistent as my Ping G15
Yeah I'm sticking with the clubs I have for the next decade. I'm done playing their bullshit game of buying a new and more expensive driver every year or two. A new club the next year is not going to give you more distance.
I still have my TaylorMade M6 driver the m6 is a very reliable driver not the shortest not the longest but consistent forgiving and with the right shaft very easy to hit
Just gave my sister one yesterday for Christmas. Found a standard head new in wrapper with a kai'li blue regular shaft for $159 usd. Hope she likes it.
So really the headlines suggest it’s going to fly off shelf since James Robinson popped up a video on YT. 😅No problem using or buying older equipment because if it works it works! I still game ping i210 irons because they are better than their replacement. Best driver I have ever gamed is 2016 Taylor Made M2. Regret letting it go but the shaft was getting little stout. Currently game ping 430 lst and it is also a very good driver and easy to hit.
@ no problem James , and I agree clubs often go overlooked and a year or two later you can buy for half price. Golf clubs costs are getting to be out of control. Compared my ping g430l lst to Ai smoke and they were virtually a yard apart when I nutted both so felt no need to switch. Enjoy your videos .
This is the only challenge with buying an older club it's the specs shaft etc. I have a tensei 65 in my gamer about bought a tsr3 with a tensei 55 in it and they play totally differently.
James, is this going ITB? I like this content for your show. I found an M2 head, and it goes as far as the QI10. The tech is hard to improve on for the average golfer. A shaft that works for you is very important. I use an Hazrdus RDX Red 6.0 60g. That shaft is in all my drivers.
The Cobra Aerojet LS Driver is great for high-swing speed players looking to lower trajectory and spin on tee shots while retaining a level of forgiveness for slightly off-center strikes. It is not the most forgiving driver, and golfers who do not hit the center (or near the center) of the club will lose balls more to the left and right.
Who’s the guy in the simulator? I used the same driver heads for 15 years ct250s from Golfworks here in Ohio just switched to a Mizuno stz 230 this summer. I think switching clubs out every time you’re in a slump or having a bad day is ridiculous
The problem is: what works today, may not work tomorrow. I did find a driver last year that was working well. Long and straight. Buuttt….. will it work next year? We’ll see won’t we. Barry the Cookie Man from South Dakota.
I remember Bryson saying he was really excited about the next year Cobra driver, which was the Aerojet. Problematic since RAD just dropped. Guess that's why he uses a custom LA Golf driver now 😅
G430 LST has been in my bag for a year now, BRNR mini driver for the odd occasion I go skewiff, and I can’t see any reason to replace what is working well!
You might want to mention that driver technology is limited by PGA tour rules. No driver is allowed to produce more than 50% ball speed than swing speed. Swing 100mph and if the ball goes over 150mph, the driver is illegal. So there is no greater speed nonsense possible.
I play off 2, regularly break par, and carry my driver 270 average in the air... My game driver at the time was the ping g425lst, and I came off the course and my friend was hitting the aerojet ls on the range and he asked me to hit it. I hit one shot and on the monitor it carried 290yards, I kid you not! True story. Epic club
Ive ended up with the Cobra LTDx based on your and Chris’ reviews and have not looked back. Picked it up a year after it debuted and it’s been incredible. Now I wish there was an SGGT here in the states!
I also have the Cobra LTDx driver in 10.5 and have to say it's a great balance between forgiveness and distance.
Yep I bought the LTDx MAX a few months ago. Love it.
PXG GEN 5XF driver can be bought for under $200 & is one PXG's best drivers they've EVER made!! Forgiving and still plenty long
Yes. Hit it dead center and will fly with the best of them even today.
Question: are you in the States, or the U.K.?
Im still loving my taylormade BRNR mini 11.5 driver. Picked it up used last year for $280.😊
The Callaway Maverick is the best driver I ever used right out of the box. Rented in Florida and find it to have a true sweet spot that covers the entire face. Added 20 yards and tightened my game.
You know I would have to agree. I too rented some Mavericks in Arizona and played my best round of the year. Go figure.
I just picked up the standard Aerojet a couple months ago when they dropped to $250 here in the US. I wanted to go with an XS shaft, and I absolutely love the aerojet now. Here in a year and a half or so, maybe 2 years when the price drops ill go with a DS Adapt
I just bought a set of R7 irons for 169.bucks as a winter set and I'm loving them there staying in the bag for sure.
You use different irons for winter and summer golf?
R7 Irons are illegal, square grooves

You sound like me this year. We need a support group 😂.
I’m currently gaming a Ping G425 with a Tensei CK Orange (non pro). It’s not the most expensive but I love the results!
Picked up the LS in May for 300 brand new. Cobra drivers are phenomenal value. Even brand new current models they give incredible value being $70 ish less than most of the other big names

I'm using a Cobra Speedzone 9 degree. Got fit for the Darkspeed. 3 yards, barely better dispersion. I'll save my money thanks.
I've noticed that too. I suspect there is very little difference between the comparable models in Aerojet and LTDx driver ranges.
I have the Ltdx driver and tried the Aerojett but wasn't for me.
After seeing the new Cobra DS Adapt drivers I've been thinking about upgrading from my RadSpeed, this could be a good replacement until the DS Adapt prices come down to a sane level.
I’m still rocking an LTDx. I’ve tried others but keep coming back to the Cobra because it just works for me.
When my old R7 driver broke last spring I picked up the Aerojet Max version for $220 as a stop gap. In July I went for a fitting with all the new 2024 drivers. Taylor made Stealth 2 HD $150 love it!
I bought the Aero Jet 2 weeks ago for $249.00 usd brand new in the wrapper. Love it so far! Was gaming a G400 max.

Bought the max version of this a few months ago for £199 brand new. It’s been great so would fully recommend 👍
If that's the hardest driving hole on the course I'm jealous it looks perfect and open!!! Driver looks solid performs solid!!
I always role with the previous model. Currently Stealth 2+. Save the 💰 and never much difference between models. Fan of Cobra drivers
I have the Aerojet in the bag and it’s not getting replaced anytime soon, can easily keep up with my mates ‘brand new’ drivers! 😂💣
Did I see my old Callaway Steelhead irons in your bag? One of the best irons of the 2000s IMO.
Which STEELHEAD Irons did you have?
@jamesklapetzky8633 X14 Pro model.
@8DecadesLife Thanks. I have X-14 4 & 5 Iron that I got from 2ND SWING about 7 years ago. Great irons.
Enjoy these reviews and the shout out to second hand clubs being no shame. Find what fits both your swing and budget and does the job. Cheers James. Happy New Year 🎉
Aerojet LS is a bomber! I love it!
I took your advice and bought a TM M1, mint condition upgrade shaft and new grip for 75 notes, three games in no lost balls 250 total in the winter.PXG for sale 😂
I picked up the ltdx max a few months ago ago under $200 and aerojet irons for $380
Dear James I bought a cobra Aerojet driver from American golf on a Black Friday after hitting it at the range in drumchapel Glasgow for £199-00 pounds
PS love it
I picked up the LTDx max for under $150 brand new and I think it’s almost as good as my TSR2 almost the TSR2 I find more forgiving but as far as distance they are both really close

That ball flight suits your good swings very well. I would love to see more retro reviews.
Just gave my sister one yesterday for Christmas. Found a standard head new in wrapper with a kai'li blue regular shaft for $159 usd. Hope she likes it.
I still have an "old" Mizuno ST-Z. It's the archer, not the arrow for me. If I were to switch or "upgrade" I'd go Cobra or PXG.
LTDX is as just as good or better and is even cheaper🍻
So really the headlines suggest it’s going to fly off shelf since James Robinson popped up a video on YT. 😅No problem using or buying older equipment because if it works it works! I’m honestly just trying to open people’s eyes to being more Yorkshire lol
@ no problem James , and I agree clubs often go overlooked and a year or two later you can buy for half price. Golf clubs costs are getting to be out of control. The nice thing, though, is you can go get that used driver fitted and there's a ton of second hand shafts available.
Playing the RadSpeed in Red and Blue Version, having a LTDx Volition Edituon on the shelf when I play a bit more consistend. Both crazy good clubs
Well done James 👏 😊
My gamer is the Cobra Aerojet LS @9°. Got the TaylorMade Qi10 LS and absolutely hate it! So back to my old faithful Aerojet!!!!
Clearly I’ve shown I’m a cobra loyalist, it makes me happy seeing all these pro cobra videos recently.
Hi james thanks for doing tribute to your dad video god bless his soul. ❤
Who’s the guy in the simulator? I used the same driver heads for 15 years ct250s from Golfworks here in Ohio just switched to a Mizuno stz 230 this summer. I think switching clubs out every time you’re in a slump or having a bad day is ridiculous
James ...maybe the standard aerojet be better for you if your missing right 👍 fade bias the LS 🤷
The new Cobra driver is ridiculous they have all these settings that us non-pro need on a driver shaft
Always buy models that are last years or earlier. Picked up the Sim2 max for £175 brand new and ❤ it.
tour edge exotic e723 is the way to go!!
I love Cobra woods! I have Aerojet fairway woods, no driver so far.
Still playing the F9 great driver, will stay in bag for 2025.
snap
I'm still gaming a Rad Speed.
The problem is: what works today, may not work tomorrow. I did find a driver last year that was working well. Long and straight. Buuttt….. will it work next year? We’ll see won’t we. Barry the Cookie Man from South Dakota.
Something I have always wondered. What do you do with all the clubs you review and never touch again?
I remember Bryson saying he was really excited about the next year Cobra driver, which was the Aerojet. Problematic since RAD just dropped. Guess that's why he uses a custom LA Golf driver now 😅
G430 LST has been in my bag for a year now, BRNR mini driver for the odd occasion I go skewiff, and I can’t see any reason to replace what is working well!
See those X-14 in the bag 😃
James cobra aerojet max is under £200 it's a year old FFS mental prices bargains 😱😱😱

I’m sticking with my sim 2 max. It gets the job done
"Haych O T" lol
I have a Ping G425 SFT. What’s the difference between the SFT and the MAX?
@@StJohnAgnew about £250 sons got
Max and says it’s best driver he’s ever had.
Callaway rogue st max D
It’s some club
Heqring Mizuno st max will be £200 and something this year
Got the ping G425 LS. I will never buy full RRP or new again. Is there a better secondhand driver out there for me?
Would you ever do a giveaway for left and right-handed clubs
0:34 Your video link shows $200, but then you say 200 pounds.
True story. Epic club
Shouldn't the heavier weight have been in the heel ?
Spend money on the shafts
Hardest driving hole?? Yeah right
26 dec more like 26 Aug
I didn’t even need to watch the video and I knew it was the cobra Aerojet! A good driver honestly for the price.
Did i spot the pro series x14's in the bag?
