LeBron is WASHED and choking AGAIN

  • Yet another postseason, yet another underwhelming LeBron James performance for the vast majority of clutch time during an entire series. The Western Conference Finals have been a very competitive and closely matched series, with the Lakers getting a number of great contributions from role players. The difference has been in the fourth quarter where LeBron continues to no show.

2007: Brons first year as a rookie after being hyped to being the chosen one surprised everyone bringing a trash Cavs team to the finals against a tim Duncan who's an all time great and a solid spurs team.....makes sense he would get swept so that's understandable with the squad and the fact that he SHOULDN'T even make the finals his FIRST year in the NBA.
2018: went against a STACKED golden state with at best a mediocre Cavs team, that same golden state had numerous all time greats in it. Kevin Durant arguably the greatest scorer ever, Steph curry the greatest shooter all time and klay Thompson a top 75 player all time as well as a defensive all star Draymond green and igudala who was finals MVP one year. Yeah Bron absolutely performed as best as a man could, he wasn't beating that team unless possibly Jr Smith didn't choke and cost him the game. Not Brons fault.
2023: Bron didn't choke, he legit had 40 points last game before losing to the nuggets. He averaged 25 points this playoffs seasons which is solid for someone who's in father time. Ad was inconsistent, although the nuggets simply was the better team even with some of the role players like Austin reves doing decent. Jamal Murray and jocic was a slept on duo for a while now.
The only true choke I remember from LeBron was the finals against the mavericks, dirk was on another level that year though I give him his credit

In NBA Finals career, Michael Jordan faced 27 Hall of Famers while in those 6 championships series, with LeBron James facing 23 Hall of Famers in 10 series. Jordan has also faced more Hall of Famer players during Jordan's entire NBA career, with 21 of them facing elimination led by Jordan's Bulls over the years including:
Charles Barkley, Vlade Divac, Clyde Drexler, Joe Dumars, Patrick Ewing, Magic Johnson, Karl Malone, Reggie Miller, Alonzo Mourning, Chris Mullin, Dikembe Mutombo, Shaquille O'Neal, Robert Parish, Gary Payton, Dennis Rodman, Jack Sikma, John Stockton, Isiah Thomas, Dominique Wilkins and James Worthy.
Lebron James played in ten NBA finals with a current 4-6 record
Michael Jordan played in six NBA finals with a current 6-0 record
But what led to players like James to become proficient in today's NBA? The removal of the "hand check" rule.
From Nicole Ganglan (Basketball Network) in 2022:
"The hand check rule also helped prevent these perimeter players and ball handlers from going to the free-throw line. The rule was more popular than ever during the 90s Chicago Bulls regime when Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen dominated the perimeter. But eventually, the league removed the rule when Jordan retired because of the lack of perimeter production when the legend took off in 2004
As soon as the hand check rule was removed, average scoring in the NBA jumped by four from 93 to 97 points per game. The MVP awards were then won by combo guards like Nash (twice), Bryant, James Harden, and even LeBron James - lethal scorers who do their damage best by either driving to the hoop or shooting midrange and 3-point jumpers. Before the rule change, big men like Garnet and Tim Duncan won the MVP, mostly because of their defense.
The end of the hand check rule is one of if not the biggest reasons why the NBA is an offensive league today. It's the reason why a lot of Hall of Famers say that defense is a lost art in this era.
This significant change has led to an increase in scoring, specifically three-point production (I mean Steph Curry, Ray Allen, and so many players have made a life out of it) and is the reason why better offense will always beat better defense in today's game."
This goes to show that not only was Jordan a predominant force in the NBA, but also the league itself now needed to ensure that a worthy replacement was to become the face of the league by taking away one of the primary uses of defense to ensure that player comes along, and it was James. This was all due in part of Michael Jordan's retirement, that the league needed to remove a valuable defensive rule to replace his status, and James can be thankful for Jordan on this regard.

Thanks for the comment, and a lot of good information here 🙏. I think unfortunately, in addition to the hand checking rule’s undoing, we also have a generational issue going on in todays era of NBA players. They simply lack any pride or desire to defend at a high level on defense. The game has changed drastically. During Kobe Bryant’s 20 year career, average nightly scoring was 97 points per game. The last 5 seasons, it’s at around 112 per game and drastically on the rise. As it was 115 points per game this season.

The Lakers didn't play Warriors in the second round. They played against Steph Curry. If Draymond, Klay, and Poole showed any heart on the road, in must win games, it's a different series. Steph was by no means blameless, he had costly turnovers, and had stretches of cold shooting. But that's were Klay and Poole were supposed to pick up the slack. Especially game 6.
Even when Murray and Jokic struggle offensively they find other ways to still contribute, and play with poise down the stretch.
The only positive about the Warriors being eliminated by the Lakers, is them avoiding a healthy Nuggets squad that's been one of the most consistent teams all season. The mental mistakes, and lack of composure against the Lakers, would have been worse against the Nuggets.

Lebron for his career is only shooting 37% outside of 3 feet and in the playoffs that goes down to 31%. He basically is Shaq playing small forward. He's just so damn big, strong and fast that he has been able to get to the rim throughout his career throughout games and he's been the beneficiary of handchecking being outlawed in 2004 plus the game changing to where there are no bigs in the lane to block his shot. Chucking up 3 point bricks multiple times in the final minutes, after his teammates pushed the lakers to that position in the first place. The worst was in game 2, where he shot enough bricks to build a house in the 4th. But then when they are down 3, with under 30s to play, THATS WHEN HE DECIDES TO DRIVE THE BALL. 2 points do nothing when you’re down 3 with no time left.

Was one of the few who still supported this man despite of his decision to switch teams but became a humbled supporter of him since 2011, it is simply embarrassing to overhype himself only to disappear. That’s the greatest disrespect to fans that believed in you only to get lazy. No 2peat or 3-1 come back will change that fact. No longer feels right to even support him at all as his tasteless flopping antics gets increasingly out of hand. I’m glad he will not finish his career as ringless king that all haters once jokes, but it baffles me when delusion supporters overhypes him when he constantly showed us himself he’s not that guy when it’s do or die, GOAT and flop simply does not belong in the same sentence.

Then all they talked about was how diva needed more help, who they should get in the off season. Nothing for Denver sweeping his sorry ass thoroughly, no fluke.

If Lakers won this year, it would be AD's ring.
Lebron would be the 2nd option, so it wouldn't really count in the goat debate.
Good run by the Lakers though, when LeGM actually let Rob Pelinka be the GM, Lakers made great trades and from staying out of the play-offs they made it to the conference finals. So if he lets Pelinka do his job this summer (and AD stays healthy...), he may have a shot at a ring as the 2nd option.
