  • In this video I show you the steps to take apart an iPad 6th Generation Screen. Do this repair at your own risk, it is not the easiest of repairs. Always use goggles to protect your eyes, and gloves. Be very careful with all flex cables on this ipad

    How much would this be if u took it in to a repair place?

    • @techfix8198

      Repair places usually charge between $90-$150, depending on quality of the screen

      I paid 160$ for a repair because I couldn’t get to the apple store because of COVID restrictions, the screen was not glued on properly, and it’s already dead (it’s been about a month and it have touch glitches)

    Sorry I’m on my wife’s account but I need your help bro please I took in the responsibility of “fixing” my bro in laws iPad because it wouldn’t start up and I took it upon my own thinking that it needed a new screen replacement and digitizer. When taking the screen off I cut all the wires including the home button wire so my question is does the home button come with the replacement screen ? Or any wires at all? I need help

      Hi there, I am sorry to hear about that frustrating experience. You can actually buy the screen with the home button included, BUT the Touch ID function will not work. Only the original button will allow the Touch ID function to work. It will function as a home button though. Those other 2 cables are part of the digitizer anyway, no worries there. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Can i use a 3d printer hot bed to heat the ipad? What temperature should I use?

    • @techfix8198
      @techfix8198  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont see why not, I would keep it at about 160 degrees Farenheit, for about maximum of 10 minutes
      Or until hot to the touch

    I spilled some cleaning product on my iPad and the screen is cracked it has seeped through onto the digitiser but it seems to work ok exept a light discoulration where it landed any advise?

    • @techfix8198
      @techfix8198  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The discoloration most likely means the lcd is damaged, you may need to change that as well as the digitizer.

    Where did you get the display from

    Did you tape over the sensors? If you did does the color of tape matter?(clear, red or black)

    • @techfix8198
      @techfix8198  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, you should not tape over the sensors. I use clear red roll adhesive, but I don’t believe that the color matters, I’m more concerned with the strength of the adhesive

    • @techfix8198
      @techfix8198  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Display lines sounds like the lcd is damaged, a restore wont help unfortunately. Most likely you need to change the LCD on it

      Interesting problem, try doing a hard reset by holding the power button and home button for 15 seconds or until apple logo shows. Let me know how it goes.
