    Hey, I recently got so many Lisa Eldridge lipsticks and I am trying to spend less. Would you say the unlipsticks are a less pigmented version of LE Velvets ? I wonder if Crush Petal is similar to Velvet Muse?

    • @thelipstickgal
      @thelipstickgal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't swatched to see if the shades are similar between crushed petal and velvet muse, but the formulation is so different! It heads in the exact opposite direction. Complete opposites really.
      You're getting more pigment, more hydration, and a longer lasting lipstick from Lisa Eldridge. I find that the true velvet lipsticks last for 8 hours even through eating and drinking with minimal touch up. After wearing the Beauty Pie Unlipsticks for the last 4 days, they only last about 3 to 4 hours, are extremely sheer, and the hydration doesn't last as long. They're not bad lipsticks, they're just completely different.
      I would say the Milani fetish matte lipstick is a closer approximation of Lisa's formula at a more affordable price. I just wish there were more shades.

      @@thelipstickgal thank you for your reply. Will you be buying the new Youthbomb cream? I used up the serum and honestly do not understand what the hype is about ...

      @@NinaN-eq4fy I ordered the youth bomb cream last night. It'll take a while to see if it's worth it.
      I'm nearly done with the serum, and although it's nice, it's not been earth shattering for me either. 🤷‍♀️ I don't think I'll be repurchasing at the $48 price point.

    I have a Givenchy Rouge Sheer Matte in shade 16 and also 2 of the BP ones in Nothing On and Crushed Petal. The formulas are so similar and ( as I am not a BP member) so is the price. I do love them all as a person who has been searching exactly for a formula like this! I always liked any lipstick that I owned much better after I had blotted it! These are so easy and comfortable to wear straight from the bullet and the intensity of the shade can be built up. Love that they are so lightweight on the lips and they don't transfer! They are my holy grail lipstick formula! 💙

      I have been enjoying Crushed Petal and Nothing On so much since they arrived. They're the most effortless formula. They look great with any makeup look, and u love the ease of application. 🙌
      I haven't tried the Givenchy Rouge Sheer lipsticks, but if be curious to try one now that you mention they're similar. They probably have a wider shade range.
      Thanks so much for watching today.

    FYI several folks on the Facebook BP members group have reported tubes arriving broken. BP monitors the group and usually steps in and asks them to contact customer service to rectify. (Usually they send out another without requiring a return.) Overall folks seem to like the formula and the ease of use. As always, thanks for your detailed review. They looked great on you. I'll be interested to hear how they work out before I purchase.

      I'll check back in a few weeks with my final thoughts. I do think they're great for a light makeup day, or when I want something soft to go with a stronger eye look.

    The way you’re describing them, they sound identical to the Hindash Manifesto lipsticks. Even from the photos I saw on the Beauty Pie website, they looks SO similar. Have you noticed the pricing of the BP products going up, lately? These are $20, and that seems very high to me, for what BP is supposed to be. The Manifest lipsticks are $38.

    • @thelipstickgal
      @thelipstickgal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I have noticed prices going up on beauty pie. I wasn't sure if that's because they become more popular, or whether it's just reflecting inflation overall. I still feel that these are a good $20 lipstick. I haven't tried the ones by Hindash, but they sound intriguing.

    Not a Beauty Pie member. I love sheer lipsticks or creamy lipsticks. Don’t like matte. The two formulas I’m liking lately are Merit lipstick and Lawless Forget the Filler lip plumper. I’m testing out the Kosas Lip Oil now.

    • @thelipstickgal
      @thelipstickgal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd be interested to try the Kosas Lip Oil. I've heard good things. I love the Merit Lipsticks. I have 3, and I'm constantly reaching for them!
      These lipsticks are different. They're not what I expected. I'm not sure what I expected, but it wasn't this. I think they'll be the sort of lipstick I reach for on work days (the nudes) or on lighter makeup days. I usually prefer a cream lipstick, but these intrigue me.

    I tried one of these also. Glad I tried just one before buying more. I found it very drying to my lips. The way I can wear it is with an additional lip balm. With all the competing products out there needs to be better than it this. When first put it on feels great but dries my lips out terrible and found the reviews coming in on beauty pie several people are mentioning this also.

    • @thelipstickgal
      @thelipstickgal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's interesting. I haven't found these to be extremely drying, but I don't think they're as moisturizing as they're marketed to be. I was expecting something akin to a matte moisturizing lip balm. I didn't find these to be that way.
      I do like the colors, and the sheered, blurred look. but I feel like their other lip formulas are better. I like the Futurelipstick formulas in both the matte formula, as well as the Luxe Shine. I also loved the Satin formula they used to have. It's been discontinued. I like the Matte Velvet Crayon too. (it's not on the website right now, so I'm worried it's been discontinued) The Shine up Color Balm was the product that dried my lips out after using it straight for a week. My lips were a veritable desert. : |

    Hi there! Oh you are fast. Thought I'd be waiting til Friday. What a shame the lipstick broke. I would bring that to their attention & should be sent a replacement. I had a faulty eyeshadow stick. The cap liner wouldn't stay on. It would just fall off. They make the customer jump thru hoops but I think for a new product they should replace it. All the shades look so nice on you, but then again, your lipstick always looks beautiful no matter what shade you wear. I'm still on the fence about these
    Have you tried their new eye gels? If so, what are your thoughts? I have them. I do like them just wish they stayed in place. 😊

      I'm not an ideal kind of person, so I skipped on that release. I am interested in their new face balm cream that's coming out later this week. I might pick that up. I was planning on putting this video up tomorrow, but I'm working on something else that I want to get out as soon as possible, so they'll be another video tomorrow. That might mean I'll take a few days off next week, but we'll see. Thanks so much for watching today, and I might reach out to beauty pie about the broken lipstick.

      I hope it's a helpful review. Over all I'm glad I got them to try.
      I'll see which one/ones I continue to reach for organically. I'm usually surprised by some products. They sneak up on me, and I realize I've been wearing them non-stop. I'm hoping these lipsticks end up in that category. We'll see.
      I pulled these out for the first time yesterday, so I don't have more than the initial thoughts in this video yet.

    Are these anything like the glossier generation g ?

    • @thelipstickgal
      @thelipstickgal  ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually I don't find the formulas similar at all. I feel like the Generation G is a little drier, but a much sturdier texture. It's also sheerer over all. These are softer, and less uniform in how they apply to the lips. I prefer the Generation G lipsticks over these. I just wish the Generation G lippies were hydrating. (I guess that's why they made the Ultra Lip Formula.)

      @LyraDavis ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thelipstickgal Thank you for the feedback! That’s really valuable insight. Was trying to decide if I should order the 3 newest shades of Gen G (I have 4 already which I adore) or if I should try the Unlipstick x Jenna Lyon’s. You’ve really helped!

    • @thelipstickgal
      @thelipstickgal  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LyraDavis go for the generation g. They're actually less expensive ($20 for the BP with a case and a bullet) and I think glossier has a better formula. If you already like the generation g formula, I'd recommend it all the way over the BP ones.
      I've fallen in love with the shade fuzz, but I wish it was just a bit more moisturizing. I still reach for it all the time, but I've been pairing it with the balm dot com in Swiss Miss for added comfort.
