- With the chronicoms defeated, the team has said their goodbyes, and live their lives doing what makes them happy. I really like that the last two people we see before they go their separate ways are Coulson and Daisy. These two have started this show and now they have ended it
perfectly ties it together
Technically it was Ward who started the show, but I get your point.
And they were the last two people we see in the pilot - both of which involved Lola going into hover mode. A most appropriate ending.

Raven My mistake then. I remember Ward’s fight scene being the first scene but I forgot about the prologue.
It seems fitting that Coulson got the last scene ever, it really comes back to him full circle

It’s crazy what has happened since the first episode. Coulson is a robot, Skye is now Daisy and has superpowers traveling the galaxy with Agent Carter’s ex-boyfriend and her sister out of time, Fitz and Simmons are married and have a kid, May has empathic powers and is a professor at a university, and Ward was evil, turned into an alien parasite, and finally killed. Damn. What a wild ride.
Well when you put it like that... Wow! Don't forget Lola had a great evolution as well
It Be Like That Sometimes I highly recommend it. The first season is the worst, but once you get to the winter soldier hydra stuff, it’s all uphill from there. Season 4 is god tier
@It Be Like That Sometimes you should definitely watch it. First 15 episodes are a little bit boring for a first time viewer but when you get to the episode 16 it goes really really good until s5. S4 is the peak point.

Arc 48 ehhhhhh. In my personal opinion season 6 is the worst. I like season 1 since it’s the most “fun” season. It’s easily the most carefree and it follows an episodic format. After rewatching the entire show like three times, I’ve grown to appreciate it haha
It still hurts that we never get to hear "We'll return in a moment." in that SHIELD logo at the end

This is the kind of show that makes you want to re-watch it just after you’ve finished re-watching it
I'm rewatching s5 and noticing things... One thing was that an alien mentioned kitson brothels, which mea s they opened up the lore of the 'vegas' planet before the visited in the next season... Which is really interesting considering s5 was written when they thought it would be the shows finale.

they didn’t really say it isn’t canon, they just moved it out of the mcu collection without announcement, but if you follow the show well and watch mcu projects, you can probably determine that the show wouldn’t fit well with the mcu anymore. It doesn’t make it a bad show though, AoS is the best marvel show out there.

Kinda fits with the story of Coulson. Phil Coulson was originally going to be an unnamed agent to show up once in Iron Man and never again, but since he started to grow on everyone, they gave him a bigger role, and now he helped conclude one of the greatest stories Marvel ever made. If not for us believing in Coulson, this masterpiece would never exist, at least not the the true extent it grew to.

It is a good concept, but I saw it first on iZombie and this felt a bit like copy of that
V vicke I’m sure movies have done this idea for years. Nothing in Hollywood is too original now. But this Show is great taking tropes form everything else and putting its own magical touch on it

I only wish they had shown us a small scene of what happened to Deke in the alternate 80's timeline after they defeated the chronicoms. Otherwise, awesome ending!

Perfect wholesome moments:
- Piper got Davis back
- Yoyo is able to fight justice the right way (remember her arc from her first season)
- Mack is freaking director of S.H.I.E.L.D
- Fitz finally got his monkey (not in the way he expected)
- Jemma got her happily ever after
- Coulson finally let Mack make some repairs on Lola
- Daisy has a purpose and a family

Yep. That means this show has in total, 136 episodes. But if you want to include the short lived Agent Carter series that has just 18 episodes, the total number would be 154.
Mac's words after he tells Coulson the code... "it's all in there" not just the key for Lola 2.0 but that other gadget. Anybody know what that is? I'm getting Marvel / Fury communicator vibe. Or toolbox 2.0 I'm undecided.

They should a Inhumans MCU movie that is not about the Inhumans Royal Family from the 2017 Inhumans MCU television series, but about Daisy, Sousa, Yo-Yo and Kora reunited with each other along with some of the Inhumans that appeared on all the 7 seasons of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. forming a new version of the Inhumans team. I want to see the return of Maximus in the movie played by Iwan Rheon again being saved from the destruction of Attilan, being in a coma for 4 years and awakened to plot his revenge on his Inhumans Royal Family.

I still remember when this show aired back in 2013. Me and a friend would watch every episode that came on and talk about it when we got to school the next day. Never will I forget finding out Agent Coulson survived and was used as motivation for the Avenger’s. It was the first time ever I pieced together details from movies and shows on my own.
Long live Agents of Shield.
Even if they don’t make the show cannon in the MCU it’s has still been one of the greatest thing out of Marvel from the past 7 years.

Mystery Phantom people like to pretend they aren’t because they dont waste time on them in the movies despite movie characters crossing over and the shows being incepted as part of the MCU. Theyre dense, move along.
@@BryantheArchivist The films never referenced the show, on purpose. The show decreased references with films, because the connection was increasingly not going to happen. Now the show ends in a position where it could continue to be utterly ignored, or higher ups with Marvel could throw them a bone and continue something and/or recognize something. As it is, practically, AOS isn't canon to MCU, because the MCU films were never at any point created to care about what AOS decides. Its irrelevant to it, thus not canon. The show however, is built to support the films, so the films are canon to AOS, even if they did some payback in later seasons by barely regarding Infinity War/Endgame and instead doing their own thing (that again, can still fit into the films if need be).
Coulson himself is canon, so through the continued level of popularity of AOS, a bone was tossed in showing a Past!Coulson in Captain Marvel. But that has nothing to do with AOS canon.

When it was transforming I was thinking inspector gadget or transformers.
It's so weird knowing that I'm never going to feel the anticipation waiting for a new season, or a new episode. That I'll never theorize for an hour only for it to not even be correct. I'll miss this show forever, and it will always be cherished in my memory.

Only sad thing for me was Coulson never seeing cap again and not showing what the heck happened to Deke in the other timeline.
In the movies, his death cemented the group together. If was as important that they not see him alive “now”, as he not finding out that he had died at the beginning.

A scene I feel should absolutely happen in some MCU movie or show is Coulson reuniting with Loki. A Jaime Lannister and Bran Stark type of reunion. It would be the only thing missing for Coulson's story to fully end, making piece with Loki and forgiving him and realizing that had Loki not killed him, he never would've gone on so many adventures with his team and family.
Shield is a special case, 7 years of my life, my favorite tv show ever, I was a boy when I first watched this now I'm a fully grown man, watching this from day one while the MCU was happening was a special thing, shield is masterclass in every sense of the word from wrighting to story structure to character progression, thanks for the memories, the heart, the soul.....oh and thanks for welcoming us to level 7

Fury said it in the last episode of the first season: SHIELD was a lot of moving parts. While it is sad that they are not together as a team anymore, each one is still part of that machine in their own way.

Coulson having the last scene is the best ending this show could ever have. Remember, without Loki stabbing him in the first Avengers film, fans wouldn't have started the #CoulsonLives and then we wouldn't have this show.
Right but the original Phil Coulson died about 2 years ago and Phil Coulson robot is alive and flying around with most of OG Phil's memories. It kind make it little sad hoping that OG Phil could come back or cheat death.
@@christiannaegele562 I didn't think I'd be able to connect to LMD Coulson, but you know, in a way, I think I connected with him and his existential crisis even more than I did OG Coulson. Part of what I loved about this season ... and I guess even going back to S6 ... is that it challenged your definition of what's "real." Enoch was a chronicron but he was a great friend to Fitz and the team. Was he less because he wasn't human? Or this incarnation of Flint, who was created from the Monoliths. Is he less of a person? Same with this Coulson. He has "programming" and he questioned whether or not he even has a soul, but is that any different than us as humans? We have "programming" in the form of instincts, like all animals, brain patterns, etc. Does God exists? Do we have souls? I liked how we saw him struggle with all the same questions that we face as humans. So, no, he's not our original Coulson, but to me he's still 100% Phil Coulson - just a different Coulson.
@The Archangel Aye, I've always thought that the character Everett K. Ross (who first appeared in CA:CW) was just Coulson 2.0 & the only reason he was there is because they refused to say Coulson was alive in the movies.

This is how you end a show, EPIC. So many great shows with a really terrible ending, leaving an empty feeling in your gut, making you think why did i watch this show. Thank you guys at ABC for giving a wonderful nights of entertainment with show, the drama, the humor, the action, the suspense, the love, the tears, the sense of doing good for each other, making us all feel like kids again, and making us believe that there are still good people in this world, and a beautiful ending that i will remember for a very long time, and a show i will dearly miss, like a member of my family...

Yes! Alias and Castle are 2 of my favorite shows of all time too. I love 95 percent of their episodes, but both of their finales are in the 5 percent of stinkers, lol
Pedro Mora Jr ikr, one of the best series endings as good as this has to go to The Clone Wars (The scene with Darth Vader was such a good way to end it).

This show always will be by far my favorite MCU show period. And it was a wild ride this one.

Possibly. If we consider this as taking place in the main MCU timeline, it's possible that it is taking place post-snap, which would of course mean that Fury is in space working on forming S.W.O.R.D. So it's possible that Fury actually put him in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D full time so that he could head up and work on S.W.O.R.D.
Either that or this is during the period between the initial snap and the moment where everyone is brought back, as we saw in Endgame. In that case Fury just isn't there so S.H.I.E.L.D. appointed him as Director in Fury's absence.

It was like a send off that said there's nothing more to say. It's all said and done. Super corny but it was bittersweet.
Imo, they should have said "whatever it takes", that'll be a cool refrence to endgame.
Or it could’ve also been “So that’s what it does” after Coulson activated Lola’s new transforming gizmo, harkens back to Avengers

Phenomenal show with an outstanding cast. This show carried me through some of the toughest times in my life, nothing short of fantastic. I will miss these agents, especially my man Phil. Had me swell up with emotion so much I cried, well done.

Having Bill Paxtons son play the younger Garett was so freaking awesome! He did such a great job and he looks just like his daddy! He did his daddy proud! I am going to miss this show. Top 5 favorite shows of all time. Love the way it ended.

It seems to match the MCU version, but it could just be the case that this is another timeline which happened to an include an imminent attack from Thanos. It doesn't have to be the same one. That said, I would like to believe it is, so we get future references and tie-ins with SWORD and/or more.

I think what makes me so emotional about this ending is that 1) my favorite show is over and 2) I don’t know a single person irl who cares about this show so I have no one to share my bittersweet sadness with because everyone gave up on this show mid season one.
It’s bittersweet in both ways, but on the other hand, I love how this show is like our best kept secret as a fandom and I’m so proud of all of us who stuck with it the past 7 years because we are og fans of it. :)

No he wouldn't, they would be rebooted. AOS isn't canon, never was and feige had issues with the guy in charge of this. Disney is the only reason the show lasted this long, if feige was in control he would've shut it down years ago

Can’t believe the show is over after all these year, what a ride and no better way to end it than with the man who started it all, Phil Coulson aka Clark Gregg, cool
Iconic scene, first episode ended with Coulson flying Lola and it is fitting, the shows ends with him and Lola. Now this is how you end a series, I can now remember this series with fond memories. I am glad everyone got their HEA (apart from Deke but I am sure he will find his own happiness in that timeline). Most of all, Daisy got her HEA, she found her family, gained a sister Kora and she found a life partner Daniel. Also, I really hope Daisy is in Agents of SWORD, that ending teased it. Anyway, that is a wrap, going to miss this show. Best MARVEL SHOW EVER.

Whether or not they paid off is a different story. But what Rise of Skywalker and the Agents of SHIELD finale have in common is that they both play it very safe and by-the-numbers and that does not make for a great ending.

Agents of SHIELD deserves much more. Kevin Feige never explicitly said that any of the Marvel TV-produced TV shows weren't canon to the MCU. He just said that WandaVision and the other Disney+ shows would connect more to the films than these shows. Still, I hope to see all of these characters come back in the future.

Marvel Television is dead. I'm surprised some of the HULU stuff is pushing through. It was already a miracle that S6 and S7 even was made but it is clear they stopped caring about keeping with MCU by that time. They couldn't acknowledge Endgame and most of their characters and places they introduced were made for the show. So far the Disney+ shows look good and finally get "everything is connected". It would be great to see these characters guest star in some capacity still.
I mean half the team is retired so it wouldn't make sense for them to just get back together after they spent so much time emphasizing that this was their final mission as a team.
It might be denial but I'm still hoping this is a "see ya later" goodbye. Even if we never see all of them again, I'd really like some future Marvel project to at least name-drop someone so we know what they're up to after this. Hell, I never thought we'd see Edwin Jarvis again let alone in an Avengers movie so here's hoping.
Even post Endgame, the world and innocent still needs protection. I’m sure they can fit in a reference to SHIELD here and there. And if necessary, one or two of them will pop up to help out. Many of them can be reached through Headquarters. So they will be there in the spaces in between movies and events in the MCU.

This is the best ending ever for a great series that I have watched over the past years. It has never failed to amaze me and make me cry.
Everyone is saying AOS is not canon is like saying Barry Allen creating multiple timelines and creating a new timeline called Flashpoint is not canon.
Him going to the speed force to create a new timeline and can’t go back.
MCU brought up Quantum Realm, which you CAN jump between timelines because time is irrelevant. Same for speed force except Barry can’t do that. They use it to go back in time to grab the stones to revert the snap.
Let’s assume that AOS creates a new timeline, hence Sousa and Kora are alive with Daisy at the end. These people are from a different timeline. And in the original timeline, they are already dead. Because the original timeline mentioned Slokovia Accords and Civil war, this means that when they create a new timeline, assuming Thanos snapped, they are not affected. They are in a different timeline. If they are in different universe, they are going to be affected by the snap.
When you change the timeline, you create a new timeline. New timeline, a different multiverse. And you can’t go back unless you go into the Quantum Realm.
And when they go back, this is POST-Snap.
Thanos can snap and make half of the multiverse disappear. But can Thanos erase a timeline?
No, think of it like a honeycomb.
Each hole is a universe. The honeycomb is a multiverse. All of that in this timeline.
So, if you have a box with 6 or more columns of Honeycombs, this means 6 different multiverses, thus 6 different timelines.
