Hey,as I say in the video,this isn't legally barring you from having fun - I'm just examining the long term health of the gamemode, it's already pretty unsustainable as the queues for all gamemodes are fucked rn lol.
Honestly, getting sandwiched by the killers is fun because if you just run in between them both they both expect the other to attack, and neither end up attacking or attack too late. Pretty funny.
Its a time limited mode, and people want to pay it while its available. As soon as its permanent, the mindset is going to switch from "ill tolerate this 15 minute queue because im haveing a blast and its gonna be gone in two weeks" to "ill play it when the queues are a bit shorter"
Playing as killer was super easy but at the same time, very fun! I didn’t even loose once. Only problem was the time you had to wait to play. Was forced to play survivor most of the time which for the most part sucked.
2v8 just needs to be a fun but definitely alternative permanent game mode. It cannot and should not be a replacement or stand-in for the base game mode and because of this can and should remain secondary and less important or incentivised. They need to use 2v8's biggest setback, the lack of licensed killers, to revisit previous killer licenses for complete overhauls while they prepare to add them to 2v8 (which should be done only after all original killers are added). Any upcoming killer licenses should be added with 2v8 intact and prepared beforehand (even if the mode isn't around at the time). By revisiting licenses they could do things like add the original Freddy Krueger, get the official Scream license, add alternative costumes, and etc. until eventually their ready to add 2v8 permanently after multiple waves of balancing changes when the mode comes back around over and over. This game has to get more creative or expand its horizons for it to remain fresh and fun, it can't be the same thing forever while they infinitely stack on more content to the same game mode and formula. They can get more creative with their maps, mechanics, game modes, and even killers like we saw with Chucky where they stepped outside their comfort zone and did things they previously would not or could not do.
Yeah all of this stuff would be good but I don't think is very useful in a vacuum - if people still don't play Survivor, it doesn't matter how many Killers are added and reworked in 2V8 lol.
For me, the best thing about 2v8 is simplicity. In the future, there will be more killers to play. Survivors will have more ways to fight back. I think it will be less fun, just like the main mode.
I don't think it needs to lose it's simplicity to become more fun! It's much more streamlined and I don't see why it would need to lose that in future iterations .
I defended 2v8 in the first iteration but honestly fuck 2v8 its just not sustainable there's just about nothing they are willing to do that will be more fun than playing killer with your friend so queues will forever be ass
Yeah because it's just survivor but you spend more times on gens. My friend Loris put it really well - it feels like playing during the Eruption Meta where chases are irrelevant and anything but holding M1 is throwing. Hopefully they can spice it up so Survivors actually want to play and Killers actually can play...
I think you had a great argument on why its a mistake, but begging for viewers to subscribe a minute in without anything to show for it isn't the best way to do it. If you really want people to subscribe, give them a reason.
Yeah in retrospect that was the part of the vid I liked the least - the only reason I wrote than in the script was because I found the transition to it funny with the complaining link. Thanks for the honest feedback

Could hardly understand what you're saying. Captions came in clutch. Offering no real feedback on "how to make this fun for both sides"' besides saying to generically rework both sides from the ground up is not really constructive. At that point just make a completely new game since we are already playing on an 8+ year title.
I didn't ask to rework Killer at all? Where did you hear that? I said that I believe the reason behind people not playing survivor in 2V8 is because the role sucks and offered some generic solutions to that, while acknowledging this is a really hard problem to solve and I generally am not sold on the game mode as a whole.
Killer is already novel - you're not alone and have buffs basekit + classes! That's why I only talk about Survivor - the reason why queues suck is because Killer is super fresh, while Survivor is stale.

Yeah my accent still hits painfully, although I've been getting better at it - subtitles are only curated by me, originally they're manually generated locally on my pc, sometimes (like here) I miss stuff, sorry that impacted your viewing experience :( Thanks for the honest feedback, always good to see people be constructive!

I’ve played a little of 2v8 but I honestly don’t find it fun. I’ve not even touched killer thanks to the queue times but survivor feels very… meh.
